Yves Deruyter is a well known name in the music scene since the mid 1980s. In my previous 2 interviews with Yves, we already spoke about his tracks “Calling Earth” and “The House Of House”.
For this week’s vlog I sat down with Yves, to ask him about the story behind “Back To Earth”, a big classic which came out in the year 2000. For “Back To Earth”, Yves worked together with none other than DJ / producer Mike Dierickx, a.k.a. Push.
We recorded the interview in Dutch, so make sure to turn on the English subtitles!
Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Which version / remix of "Back To Earth" is your favorite one?
Always loved original, 2000 version.
Sounds like Scooter inspired from this on for "No Pain, No Gain (2002)", also "Posse (I Need You On The Floor (Tee Bee Mix))" have similiar percussion.
The rave mix for sure which i thought was the original one :) glad the techno dj’s picked it up roughly 20 years later :P
Rave Mix !!!!!!!👌✌✊
Rave mix any day of the week 🥳🥳🥳
I like the rave mix and the dj scot project remix.
Stone Cold classic track, nice interview!
Thank you!!
Legendary producer and DJ! 🙌
If I really have to pick one track, maybe that's "Feel Free". First I heard that on a local Hungarian DJ's cassette tape, which was an unofficial live recording. I remember how hard I was hunting for that track and I had to wait until got my first PC with dial-in internet in 2005. 😄
After all those, I was super happy when it was also featured on Svenson & Gielen's retrospective "Trance Energy" compilation in 2017.
Thanks Twan and Yves for this interview! As a Belgian too, proud to have those ydr records also on vinyl. Sadly that Yves is selling his collection.
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed the interview!
Cool, informative interview. Good to know about "Back To Earth" background story. Thanks for sharing it.
And thank you too!!

🔥🔥🔥
yves deruyter the best dj at the cherrymoon in 1994 1995 1993 je suis française et tous les week ends on partait à lokeren
echt goed dit
I guess I'll wait for the subtitles!
If you refresh it should work now, not sure what went wrong. Can you let me know if it works now?
Working now! Thanks
Want wie kende in AUS in godsnaam YDR? ;) Anyway nice interview!
Amai mooi werk
Dank je!
Legend
mega vet kanaal dit zeg
Dank je wel!!
..and as all vinyl djs I know, Yves also will regret getting rid of his collection. It's the circle of life.
Having a hard time understanding the foreign language... 😅
There’s English subtitles 😉
@@muzikxpress Yeah, it took me second to remember RUclips's CC button.
