Amazing artist, DJ, and person! I had the honor to support him back in the early 2000s and he was so friendly and rocked the party! I still have Animals, Rave City, Calling Earth, Back To Earth, and a couple of others signed and play them a lot! 😁
The lyrics: Giving these (young) artists a chance to play at my events. Take them under my wing. I'm so glad that someone thinks like that, the music world is not always so easy, between the critics, the jealousy and so on. I think it's lucky that great artists like Yves Deruyter give us this opportunity! 🖤🙏🏻 #RAVE #YDRRECORDS
This gentleman is the trance "bearer" that introduced me to the genre with his bonkers, outlandish track "The Rebel" in 1997. Im almost 50 now and he will forever be at a very special place - he started it all for me. All my respects and kudos for him. Thank you Mr. Deruyter !
Yves is zo'n fijne toegankelijke man.
yay finally! "calling earth" what a special track! i remember when my sister introduced me to it, she said "check out this amazing new club hit" and at first i thought she was joking, thinking it's actually a track made by some of her friends at school. it sounded so simple! shortly afterwards, "calling earth" as well as "yvesday" were playing in every corner of my german village. however, it has remained a mystery for years how to pronounce "deruyter", nobody i've asked had an idea!
Hope you enjoyed the interview! And now you know how to pronounce his name haha ;-) So... 2 more interviews with Yves coming up in the next months, stay tuned!
Fijn dat je een interview met Yves Deruyter op je kanaal hebt gezet. Ik luister graag naar zijn muziek. Het was trouwens een interessant interview. Ben erg benieuwd naar de volgende.
I would never thought that it would be possible to see a documentary on this particular track. Don't get me wrong, it was a proper "progressive house" track, but by 2000's it was totally forgotten, edm music grew so enormously than nobody would even care about the old chart hits with gimmick sound. I could not even identify this track, because HOW? That house track with pitched sinus sound? No search system was able to detect it (and in 2024 there is no descriptive search even with AI)
He can speak English, but he asked if we could do it in Dutch since he would be able to express himself way better. So thats why 😉 And thank you too, glad you enjoy the interviews! There’s 2 more with Yves on the way BTW!
Ah ! This Famous track ! It was featuring at the Cherry Moon this one ! But I think this track was also made as a a collaboration With Dirk Dierickx aka M.I.K.E. Push, and they've made several and very good trance classic tracks together 👍👍👍
Oh and I forgot to mention that this fabulous track was also quite sampled on some another tracks : "Steven Gore - Control Me", "Neon - Full Frontal", "B.O.N.Y - The Hurricane (Here Is The Party Mix)" etc
Nice interview, though i never liked the "Calling Earth" track. Had it on vinyl though, and was autographed by YDR self. DJ'ed alot with him at several party's around here. He once was before me playing a gig and what i will never forget, was that he had a transparant vinyl-case with him wich contained only transparant vinyls... that was a nice gimmick offcourse. It was in the mid-90's and the nice thing wen i started the play, people thought i was YDR :D .... just because he had a shitty hour to play.
If you did listen to the interview you can hear him explain that always works with other people. He’s more the DJ and comes with ideas and gives input in the studio while working on the tracks.
Never say never, but I don't really do interviews about the same track twice. Maybe one day, but for now my travel budget for Muzikxpress is zero.... So no trips abroad for a while unfortunately. I have to be really picky when it comes to interviews, this is just a hobby for me and I don't have unlimited time and travel budget ;-)
Love that one! But I wish it was that easy though … I did reach out twice to him already with an interview request, but I never got a reply (so far) unfortunately… 😕
Thank you! And all the people that did work on tracks with Yves are always mentioned in the credits. If a track is being ghost produced, the ghost producer doesn’t get mentioned in the credits. So in this case it would be co-produced 😉 Hope this helps!
@@duskgolem3793 They are on my loooong wish list, but unfortunately they don't tour as DJs, which means it is really hard for me to do an interview with them as I don't have a travel budget to do these interviews. This is "just" a hobby for me, so I can only do interviews with people that live nearby (I'm based in the south of The Netherlands) or with people that do visit for gigs etc. Hopefully one day, fingers crossed!
@@muzikxpress Oh super nice to hear that you have them already in your wish list and yes they are not much active like past days :) and so great to see amazing and dedicated music lovers like you are doing these priceless interviews :) i'm eagerly waiting for that transa interview and a pulser my religion interview :) wishing you the best of luck and health
@@duskgolem3793 Thank you! And same story with Pulser, he is not active as a DJ anymore and he left the UK years ago. Check the latest interview I did with Steve Helstrip, Pulser gets a mention too and then I also say I would love to do an interview with him one day as well haha ;-) FYI, there's about 150 people on my wish list, so I have enough ideas, but not everybody is easy to get for an interview, plus time and travel budget are issues I'm dealing with as well. I do everything by myself in my spare time ;-)
Yves de Ruyter, topgozer met beide benen op de grond. Kunnen vele andere DJ's een voorbeeld aan nemen.
absoluut, onlangs heb ik Yves ontmoet, zo'n sympathieke en gezellige man. Echt waar 😀
Super interview - very LOL funny at times too.
In short it also cheered me up!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Saw him @Energy 96.
such a good interview as always! Yves seems to be a very kind and open person! Love his tracks, keep it up!

Haha that’s a cool story! Also cool about the transparant records and the record case, wow!
Nice interview. What's the name of the track at 23:40?
Thank you! And the last track in the interview is Yves Deruyter - To The Rhythm.

I missed some questions about the gear he used for making the track, that would be very interesting.
If you did listen to the interview you can hear him explain that always works with other people. He’s more the DJ and comes with ideas and gives input in the studio while working on the tracks.

What is your favoritey Yves Deruyter track or remix?
Feel Free
Is he the guy who made The Fly Is Dead or is that another Bonzai Records dj?
FACTOR Y. Original and Mellow-D mixes are both bombers, but original is a masterpiece.
@@Dashoost Sean Dexter remix is unreal
The rebel, feel free... and all the rest!!
Hi please could you do energy flash by Joey Beltram

@@muzikxpress oh well good luck brother. Thanks for replying. 👍
Y.d.r. vs Carl Cox zou de max zijn
Echt he? Never say never....
He sounds like he has a Scottish accent,
It's the Flemish accent of Antwerp ('Antwaaarpe' as they pronounce it themselves :) )
Nice interview and i think mike push helped him a lot as a ghost producer also :)
