    We also go over how changes in the loft can affect distance. see why I gain nearly 10 yard in the same club.

    Jim reminds me so much of Larry Bobka from 2nd Swing Golf on RUclips. Both have a relaxed and smooth delivery. They are both extremely knowledgeable. Most important, you want to listen and learn from them.

    Hi Jim I have only recently come across your channel and I love it. I have just ordered the D9 forged 4- Gw, plus a new 52 and 56 Staff Model wedges in LH. Can’t wait to get them! Currently play PI5 irons so long overdue an upgrade!! Great reviews, keep it going 🙂

    LOVE my Wilson forged irons (C300). My golfing partner got the same ones. I will never use any other brand for irons. They are not too strong lofted which I like, they are a great blend of forgiveness and control. Plus I paid $450 for them new. Can’t beat that.

      I love them as well. Only issue i have found..... The power hole slots can start to collapse and push into the face a bit. just dapped some epoxy in there and its fine..... but just an FYI going into the D9F

    Great video man !! Will be watching more ! Question,i note that the Wilson D9 Forged only come with the DG 105 S300 shafts, and was seeing whether you think these shafts are a decent match for these heads ? Thankyou

    My first set of nice clubs was a set of Wilson Reflex. They were a blade looking cavity backed head with a "Powerstrip" all along the bottom.

    That was an awesome review Jim. Thanks a lot! Helps me a ton as I am actually getting these now fitted.
    One question I still have though is about the GW. I definitely need one to fill that gap at around 125 yards. You mentioned in the video that you prefer the GW to be part of the set as oppose to it being a specialty wedge. Why is that or what are the pros and cons of either option (set vs. specialty)?
    Many thanks, Alois

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  Год назад +1

      The GW of the set is more forgiving than a wedge made of the same loft. A wedge is basically a large bladed head verses a cavity back of sorts.

    Jim, you’re scaring me with your comment about the lofts being “off”. Has anything changed since you posted this video review? I hit them at the local roger Dunn and they felt great, but, what if the quality control isn’t there at Wilson?

    Hi Jim I have the D9 game improvement irons with recoils 460….enjoy the stronger lofts for sure although not a huge fan of the SW…..I’m very interested in having you build me a set of the D9 forged. What information would you need and do you know if my shafts are the dart or not. Thanks. Peter

    Hi - I am new (1 year) to golf and had my first fitting yesterday. I had never heard of these clubs before the fitting but they were amazing. I am now caught between these and the i525's from Ping. The Pro whom did the fitting suggested the pings might be more suited long term as I am still improving (he mention I may need more spin from club head as I get into single figures). Any thoughts or views on this?

    Great review on what these clubs are all about...Are you saying that the lofts on these clubs can be off 3 degs???? Also when ordering these D9 why does Wilson not offer in the custom ordering for one to selet the loft and lie option??? I checked out TGW and there is NO Option there....P>S> I play a set of Wilson Staff FG V6 irons and the 7 iron loft is 35, the D 9 loft is 30.5 very strong..Why all the half lofts??? Not sure if these would be of benifit to my game.....Might be a bit more forgivness I guess.....What is your view...Thanks....

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  2 года назад

      The one head was off by three deg. The rest were spot on. I’m not sure of the custom options, I’d bet it’s due to availability of people to do the work. If you like the v6 I’d recommend the CB and make them a deg or two strong

      Thanks. I did check out the WS CB when they came out as a follow up to the FG V6 but here is the same problem...Don't offer loft changing, lie or shaft options..Stuck with what Wilson wants, not for me,,Guess I'll checck out the Mizuno 225s...Thanks for your help....

    Hi Jim, thanks for a really helpful review. Sadly I can't demo these clubs in the UK. Do you think the stock D9 Forged shafts (DG R300 VSS) should be OK for a mid handicap golfer with a 77-80mph 7 iron swing speed? Any thoughts appreciated.

  • @adammitchell9627

    This club would better suit me than the ones I just bought. i’m a lefty with a step swing. I bought the jpx 921 with x100 shafts. I also have another question I hope you could answer, went and got a van fitting at the superstore and I’ settled on callaway rogue Maxx LS he actually wanted me to get the triple diamond but I did not like the shape of the head, he fitted me for the hazardous smoke green small batch but it was a $250 upgrade so I decided to get the stock shaft option which is a hazardous smoke black RDX 70 g extra stiff my question is how big of a difference between the two shafts are there

  • @dmilano56
    @dmilano56 2 года назад

    When I got fitted, the heads seemed lighter. I had a really good shot pattern similar to the one you showed, never far off center line, slow swing speed, so with less distance. PGA super store placed the order for D9 forged Graphite Standard loft, 2 deg flat lie Standard length, A flex MRC Tensi Sliver 55 mid kick. More context I'm 68 . When I received the set the heads feel like hammers, and shafts feel Regular to simi Stiff. Seem harder to swing. I've only had them hit into my net in back yard so far. Any thoughts?

      These clubs definitly need a high launch/high spin shaft. (think KBS Tour)

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  2 года назад +1

      I’m high ball hitter and didn’t notice the difference in flight using the Accra 95 constant weight shaft. Don’t get hooked on stronger lofts as the cog is lower and will land softer not spinnier (sp). If you are a V6 user the CB s are a great replacement
