  • I want to preface today’s video by making one thing clear: There are no “weird” foods. There are foods that are different than what you are used to, but that does not make them somehow less valuable.
    All food is valuable. That is why I try so hard not to waste food, and also to showcase the diversity in food that we as humans enjoy around the world. What one culture may find strange is commonplace to another- We all see the world through the lens of our own experience and upbringing, and it’s important to consider that when encountering new things.
    My goal in including foods that are from cultures outside my own is to showcase them and help educate, both my viewers and myself, about food diversity. It is never to make fun of them or dishonor them. I try hard to be respectful, even when I don’t personally enjoy something- which is going to happen! We all have different tastes.
    Please be respectful in the comments. If you cross the line and I see it, I will not hesitate to block you and remove the comment. There is no place for that here. Everyone is invited to have a piece of “The Sandwich.”

    If not for the weird wild magic roll that would actually be a decent sandwich

    considering all the gooey textures, this thing should earn the name the "Gelatinous Cuban"

      @@creatureofthenight7231 I think it's just cuz it's a sandwich name that sounds like "Cube", since Gelatinous Cube is a famous monster. That said it's mustard heavy, which I like on my cubans.

    I think it's funny that you specify you can't use two cantrips on the same turn, as though you might toast the bread and then ground it up with mayonnaise

      salt and pepper is also a cantrip, and would be a good one with tuna as well as mayo

    I’m super into these cantrip additions and I like seeing the added ways you incorporate dnd concepts into your sandwich building experience! Also RIP, this one was so close to being decent!!! 😩😩😩

    I think you should add eggs to the mains list. It pairs well with cheeses, and the ability to choose how you prepare it could be interesting

      He does add it sometimes. I’m guessing it’s just when he is running low on mains though.

    The natto was the... uh, goo... that broke the, uh... sandwich's... back?
    Man, that joke did natto work.

    When I saw you put the entire natto container on there I knew you were in trouble.
    My wife once tried to bring natto into the house. We tried it once and then promptly declared it "for enemies only."

    When I was teaching in a Japanese middle school, every time we had natto as part of school lunch, the school’s principal would come by and ask me how it was. I always had the same reaction as you: The smell isn’t as bad as people make it out, the taste is fine but I wouldn’t seek it out, but the texture was a complete disaster. The principal would let out a hearty laugh and tell the vice-principal and head teacher about it.
    Putting it over rice unfortunately didn’t help me all that much, but maybe it’ll be the difference maker for you!

      I went on a school trip to japan. My host family offered me some, and naturally i wanted to try it. I had basically the same reaction as you. Smelled completely fine, tasted okay, texture BLEUGH. I tried to keep my composure so i just tried to say, its not my favourite thing, and im hoping that didnt somehow mistranslate to something bad.
      Edit: while watching the video i kept remembering the texture of the slime specifically. Felt like how your spit feels after you havent had water for ages, but a little runnier.

    If the Natto didn't get rolled probably would've been a halfway decent sandwich

  • @jakefaircloth9618
    @jakefaircloth9618 2 месяца назад +2

    Honestly, I feel like if you didn't add the mayo to the tuna, that would've at least helped the texture issues. Add a little more substance to the natto. And there are recipes that pair natto and tuna (not canned tuna... but still tuna) together. It's kinda interesting to think about how the cantrips could potentially hurt a sandwich more than the ingredients on it.

    Although your leftovers are usually more unusual than most sandwich mains.

    Wait, this whole time did you think adding mayo to tuna was a niche Midwest thing? That’s what a tuna sandwich is everywhere, my man! I was always confused as heck when you would dump “raw”, unseasoned canned tuna on a sandwich. Did you think that’s how everyone else was eating it??

    Yeaaaah natto in this context not so much
    One time I was at a family run Japanese restaurant (in the US) and ordered natto, fully aware of what it's reputation is but never having tried it, and the nice lady serving us tried to like... warn me/stop me? 😅
    I reassured her I was a consenting participant
    I thought it was interesting and not terrible but natto also hasn't become a regular part of my diet lol

  • @CAPSLOCKNINJA
    @CAPSLOCKNINJA 2 месяца назад +2

    you can cast multiple spells per turn! the rule prevents you from casting multiple levelled spells per turn

    • @eldritchdefender7785
      @eldritchdefender7785 26 дней назад

      It actually only stops you from casting a leveled spell as an action if you cast one as a bonus action. Meaning you can use action surge to cast two leveled spell. Or use your reaction within your turn to cast something like Silvery Barbs or Counter Spell.

    I think mayo should be a spell slot instead of a cantrip. Its too powerful to be just a cantrip. Not only does it change the taste but also the texture. Def a level 1 spell slot

      Yea, but mayo isn't going to save anything. Even not using the mayo on this sandwich wouldn't have made it worse than a one. Probably.
