Thanks this really helped me out. It was first time on a 2022 and that Phillips head rotor screw stripped on me but I recovered. Thanks again and great job
Many have no idea how many others skip that little rubber plug in the rotor
Great video..easy to understand.
Great video!
Thanks!
What an awesome video. It really helped. I asked about the retaining screws for my rotors. I hope you can reply. Thank you!
Thank you very much
As easy as you described. The most annoying part are the pesky screws that hold the rotor in place. those almost stripped. I was already ready for it. you have to use a snug fitting screw driver and a mallet to tap those before trying to unscrew them.
Agreed!
That's why the young mechanics at the tire shop were cursing and swearing when they were trying to remove the screws that were almost frozen in place; until the older experienced mechanic showed them how to do it. I had the same exact problem and gave up on the brake job because I was afraid of stripping the threads that hold the rotor in place.
Thankkkkkk youuuuuuuuuu
Those clips on the pads are sensors to let you know when it's time to replace the pads.
Hey can you do a video of raising and lowering front head lights.. Please, Please
What kind of car?
@Pink Caddy Garage I have a 2016 Kia Sorento.. I made a adjustment on my low beams and it moves both high beam and low beam 😀 😌 👌
What model years of the Sorento will this work for? I.e 2019 kia Sorento v6?
At least 2011-2014. Other years should be similar though.
How often do you find you need to replace the pads and rotors on sorentos? I have a 2014 and feel like I’m doing it more than i have with any other car
Three times so far with around 155,000 miles
@@pinkcaddygarage267I, n third set with 130,000. Also I always use a screwdriver and whack it before trying to loosen rotor screws!
Need help, We're do u find the rubber plugs my old brake rotors didn't have them, bought my 2011 Kia pre-owned, dealer said there diagrams don't show it there dumb thx if u can help
Do a Google or Amazon search for “brake caliper guide pin boot kit“
Not sure what size the Kia requires, but you should be able to find something or get some measuring calipers and see what size you need
Don't go the dealership. Most of their tech's are young and inexperienced. Go to a veteran mechanic who owns his own garage and has common sense and experience. You can't rely on diagrams, you need common sense and some trouble-shooting ability.
Only One pad was warn the other looked like new. That means the caliper wasn't "floating". You need to free and Greece the guides so the caliper centers itself. Otherwise it's just gonna wear only one pad again.
You're right!
How often should you change the rotors?
We usually wait until they start squealing or grinding. There is no set mileage since you’re driving style I will affect durability
@@pinkcaddygarage267 thank you,
What size are the retainer screws for my rotors. Last person never put them back in.😡
Sorry I missed your question earlier. If you go to Amazon, type in “brake rotor retaining screw” and Kia, you will see that they offer an eight pack of screws for a few bucks. Hope this helps!
@@pinkcaddygarage267 Thank you👍😁
Most of these screws are what's called a jis.(Japanese industrial standard) they look like a Philips but a tad different.get a jis bit or screwdriver and it will help prevent rounding the head out.. hope that helps..
Those screws are just there for the manufacturing process. They are not needed after the car is built.
Power drill bad choice ?
Possibly
Thank you. Good movie, but why not to use gloves?
Probably should
I just did my front rotors and pads on my 2016 kia Sorento... I didn't have much pads...yikes
Hello here’s Valli,A rep from AUXITO.Are you interested in doing a review video for our products,I could send you some if it sounds like a plan
Hello, and thank you for your offer. Let me check out your product line and see if there’s anything that is applicable to the type of work our channel does that I will get back with you!
You didn’t clean and lube the sliders.
You’re right
Those screws on the rotor are the dumbest thing I've ever seen. totally shut down the brake change last night because of them. grrrrrrr
I agree, and I’m not quite sure why you would even need them since the wheel secures them to the hub anyway. Maybe somebody can chime in here with a reason!
I kinda explained above.those are jis heads not Phillips. They look almost the same. It will help not stripping the head out..
