When you rewatch Marcel's Secret Invasion, one thing becomes clear: Gravik was right. Not only was he justified in wanting Fury to make good on his promises, but Gravik's plan for Earth would have made the humans safer, part of a galactic Federation, and ultimately would have stopped Thanos form snapping everyone away in Avengers: Infinity War.

It had a great start but they didn't develop the story fully as they should have and it ended up as an okayish product in the end , which in this case was dissapointing because right from it's first look back in sepember 2022 till the 3rd episode , people had high hopes that it is a great show . Never expected a show which started out as a global political thriller to end with a generic CGI fight where the 2nd protagonist became one of the strongest MCU beings out of nowhere and Nick Fury had to become a side character in his own show.

One difference that needs to be remembered, the asgardians, specifically Thor, Loki and the All Father Odin were at one point in human history worshipped as gods, so being able to give them a place on Earth in one of the places they were worshipped was actually a privilege and basically the equivalent of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. if you think about it, the reason Fury didn't tell the public, wasn't necessarily because he believed theyd be rejected, but because of their shapeshifting ability, if they were widely known about, they wouldn't have been as effective as spies. While he DOES care about the planet, Fury has a tendencey to use people, even the ones he likes, such as Maria Hill and the Avengers. I mean Gravik pretty much throws that in his face, and so does Talos. Look back at Age of Ultron, the speech he delivers to Tony in the Barn, its manipulative. Its masked as a Pep Talk, but in the end when he's in the kitchen talking to the rest of the group, he basically infers "thats why I created you, a team of superheros, to do what needs to be done, to do what I want you to." just in a more charismatic way.

I just don't know if the Skrulls allying with the Avengers would've been enough to defeat Thanos in Infinity War. But I will say that Nick Fury not being in Civil War at all especially since we now know that he had the Skrulls in his pocket might be a plot hole, Fury could've literally ended the entire conflict with the Accords in one phone call to Talos or somebody else.

Earth had so many infinity stone precisely because it was such a back water planet and no one would think to look here for anything. It's the reason Odin chose to hide his infinity stone there instead of taking it back to Asgard. In reality earth should only have had the one stone, just the one the sorcerers were charged to keep. And the devastation of Zandar and the final battle against Thanos proved no inhabited planet should have ever harbor an infinity stone to begin with. Morag and Vormir had the right ideas, keep those stones away from inhabited places.

Loved the vídeo, but Ryan you didnt notice the biggest diference between Asgardians and Skrulls. The skrulls aided the USA during the 90s and 00s so they are, logically, a threat to the rest of the world, other countries. The world is bigger then north america, and the asgardians not only didnt make enemies, but also helped save it with Thor.

But the thing is, secret invasion was a good show and this video makes it even better to me, gravik and everyone was right in their motives and feelings towards other characters and situations, gravik was determined but blinded by his confidence and got beat by fury by what fury does best, let other people handle his problems for him, gravik was so sure a human would be fine in Chernobyl that he never thought that a skrull would disguise themself as fury and also I found his death to be poetic as everyone he’s killed never you to fight back or ever really had a chance to, g’iah got to get justice for her mother and father, skrulls and other aliens are now even more ostracized by earth and will be hunted if the government finds out about them, Nick will have learned from this experience and have more faith in earth and the skrulls who still want to help him, g’iah and Sonya add hunting down more energy skrulls and also for anyone who has a problem with gravik’s death clearly missed iron man 3 cuz Aldridge Lillian was killed in similar ways as gravik and we’ve also seen that anyone in the mcu that can heal can still be killed if you destroy the heart or the head, thanos can be stabbed in his heart and killed like seen in MOM, hulk can have his heart exploded therefore he needs it to even be the hulk and so on and so forth, it’s a good show with consequences that’ll play a role in the future of the mcu

Gravik didn't think for one second that a human would be fine in Chernobyl that's why he wouldn't let Fury take the iodine pills he told him to bring and even told him that when he feels it in his elbow that the poisoning would kill him at that point

I like your theory I think everyone thinks the mcu failed this plot driven story it could’ve been so much better had they made it into a 2 part movie or a 10 episode series and actually followed the comic a lot more it feels like they made budget cuts they shouldn’t have done this should’ve been Disney plus secret wars with a cast full of mcu characters and it could’ve introduced characters now instead of later like the fantastic four and more super skrulls I think the comic line was epic and they failed it I still watched it like most mcu fans but it lossed on rewatch ability because I like rewatching the whole of mcu every so often and this one I got no problem just skipping

Exactly what I said it needed at least9 episodes like wandavision and they needed more of the original story whether they used superheroes or not not only that every episode was progressively shorter no need to tell one of the greatest comic stories ever and completely half ass it.

I agree with Ryan in this point, the writers should have leaned into the racism aspect of the Skulls and the US but we know that the MCU would never go for that. They tried to address it in FAWS but werent allowed to go very deep into it, so they kept it all surface level. It's a shame as i think the MCUs reluctance to give 100% into these issues (or even 75%) negatively effects their storylines

I'm not so sure you can compare the Asgardians to the Skrull.
The humans of Scandinavia share a heritage, culture and probably DNA with the Asgardians. Norway already shared a connection.
