I'm more into Rock and Metal but I saw Big Country twice in 1986, 1996 and three times this decade with Bruce Watson taking more of the lead. All of the gigs were fantastic and Stuart Adamson was simply am amazing lyricist, Vocalist, guitar player and entertainer. Truly one of the greats. but lets not forget about Bruce, Tony and Mark. Great tunes and a great band.
All of us who were lucky enough to see Big Country live over the years truly KNOW we saw something utterly magical, unique and unrepeatable. RIP STUART - GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.
Best guitarist, singer and songwriter ever.....Stuart was the man.....from the start to the end.....much missed....if only he knew how much he was loved things could have turned out differently.
My lad plays this to me, he is 19, , I am 50, he plays it tone and pitch perfect,,,,,,,,,,cos he loves the song,,, and rightly so, Best band of all time.
I just recently got into this amazing band ! All i ever knew was the "in a big country" song and oh my god this band was brilliant ! I've had their greatest hits cd in my dash for months ! RIP Stuart you were a missed genius !!
Alone. If it would be biographical, so sad Stuart, that no one understood. So sad you couldn't survive the demons that made you feel so alone. Still mourning about your loss, RIP, you were so talented 🙏
These guys captivated an audience best live shows i've ever been too, kickass songs that got you rocking miss these days ,thank goodness we have these videos to remember these fantastic gifted musicians .
Seen Stuart Adamson play with the Skids and Big Country. He knew how to get a crowd moving from the front to the back of any music venue. Puts new bands to shame.
It sucks knowing that this song has a whole new meaning because of his suicide. It also sucks in a way that his death drew me into listening to their catalogue in the first place. Good and bad because it’s great music
not under-rated. maybe not appreciated, or known. For those of us who were fortunate to see BC in their glory, we would rate them differently. Best band I've ever heard, best band live and best group I've ever tracked. I still try to remember there are people out there who don't have the fortune I have in experiencing BC since 1983. So, I try to enlighten.
Agree completely with SheWoreLemon83. Awesome version of this song, and the whole DVD of this concert is powerful, but I always come away from it feeling sad for the loss of such a talented person.
Thank you Isabellle for posting such a good collection of BC's music .I no longer have the facility to play my old vinyl. So, your uploads are most welcome. Big Country, in my opinion were the most original band to appear in the early 80's. They impressed me then, & still do. Being a little older than most, I was fortunate to see them many times throughout their entire career. Until Stuart's sad death that is. What a talent. Sorely missed by so many of us. Thanks again.
What a band Big Country was in Stuart Adamson's time. When I first time heard Big Country it was their song Fields of Fire WOW since then I have been Big Country's fan. I am Bible believing Christian from Rovaniemi, Artic Circle, Lapland, Finland.
This song is on fire! Can't stop listening to it, I don't think lyrics ever hit me like this before, I really feel for Stuart when he's belting out "Alone in my little tiny room." The music to this is addicting, and prefer to celebrate BC's music and Stuart's life, but can't help being struck a bit by sadness when listening to those words.
Seen the Skids one night at the Ballroom Dunfermline in the mid 70`s before the disco started. Took them to be just another punk band. Next time I met them was in the passing at Alan Duffus motorcycles Kirkcaldy, Stuart and Bruce. Took my kids to see an acoustic appearance at the radio One road show in Arbroath. The last time we crossed path was at a Big Co concert in the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes. Stuart! I feel a great loss when I hear you play. RIP
Is this the Barras Glasgow 1993 cos if it is I was there? Best live band. Stuart left a great legacy to music and now his kids are following in his foot steps!
WOW, speechless, words do not do this justice sit back, relax and watch perfection at work BTW, Mick Peters, thanks for good work, the Spirit of BC is strong in that one
I love the i guess calling a bag pipe guitar something like that given this unique wonderful collection more on point plays out with our trouble with much ease i love it..
Saw them on the beach in De panne / Flanders (Belga beach festival) in '91. MAGNIFICANT!!! They missed the train of publicity, as U2 & Simple Mds did not. They 're so much better... They were to modest. That's what I liked about them/ Adamson. That's what made them oh so BIG COUNTRY
Lovely bloke too. Have met him 4 times now. Very humble and takes the time to respond to mad fans who stay in the same hotel and say hi at the vending machine on their way to BC gigs. That's from personal experience twice.
Warum mußtes du so früh von uns gehen Stuart???Du hast einer der besten Stimmen aller Zeiten!!Du warst Big Country!!!!Das ist Super Geiler Gitarren Rock!!!Einzigartig!!!!
As i read some of the stuff here from some people who have a warped view of Humanity' lets just say this 'Stuart was a Proud to be Scottish Man ' but as He also said at the beginning of a few of His Concerts 'We Are Big Country and We Are From Everywhere' He was About Unity of Humanity' It so Happens that a Great Deal of My Lineage is Celtic' Both Scotch and Irish American' with some German and Iroquois (Native American NY.State' We are all one 'but in regards to Celts ' the Scottish and the Irish are like Brothers 'or Half Brothers ' they may have a different Dah' but the Mum is the Same' if You look at Stuart and Look at One of Several Irish Faces 'Why You could tell Me Stuart was Born in Tipperary' Kerry ' Killarney or kildaire ! We are Celts Man' Accept Embrace Be Proud 'but Love All Other Races Equally' thats What Stuart would Say.....
Just amazing... this is 4 great musician who were meant to meet,. Playing live they were untouchable. They could have said they were playing barrowlands every Saturday and it would have been full.
This is brilliant! I love the start of this track, it reminds me of The Who actually (CSI theme, which I dont actually watch)a multi talented guitarist was Stuart, I must try to get this DVD
love this along with barrowlands great gigs others of course too we are lucky so much great live material on you tube check out big country eclectic and more of there fantastic acoustic so undervalued
When the bloody hell are camera people going to actually get it!!! When the guitar player doing the guitar solo is playing the guitar solo can they please film him properly so we can watch it! I've put up with crap filming of my favourite live guitar moments for bloody years! How much do you idiots get paid for such a lousy job?? R.I.P. Stuart.. you were a supreme talent! Miss you.

Genius. Saw Big Country live in 82 in Brighton. No band has touched them since or ever will. RIP Stuart. Thoughts with his family.
Amazing report
I wish i had been lucky enough to have seen them with Stuart. Time for them to give it up and hand the baton to Restless Natives who do Stuart proud.
Not many words needed here. A great performance of a very good song. Stuart Adamson may be gone but Big Country's music will endure through the years.
My lad plays this to me, he is 19, , I am 50, he plays it tone and pitch perfect,,,,,,,,,,cos he loves the song,,, and rightly so, Best band of all time.
Perfect performance from the legend that was Stuart Adamson... this is not just music this is art in motion.
Sweet Jesus… they were always on fire ❤ RIP Stuart-
I just recently got into this amazing band ! All i ever knew was the "in a big country" song and oh my god this band was brilliant ! I've had their greatest hits cd in my dash for months ! RIP Stuart you were a missed genius !!

Stu will never 'disappear' :-) he was a friend AND a great artist. I do miss him - every day!
Used to play their LP’s and music not stop in the 80’s and still listen to their music today. Love their music.
Alone. If it would be biographical, so sad Stuart, that no one understood. So sad you couldn't survive the demons that made you feel so alone. Still mourning about your loss, RIP, you were so talented 🙏

Stuart and Bruce made playing guitar look so easy. Superb, love it.

@@kirsteen1073 hands down, absolutely amazing tunes and riffs out of this world! And Great voice of Stuart
Couldn't hit like hard enough!
It sucks knowing that this song has a whole new meaning because of his suicide. It also sucks in a way that his death drew me into listening to their catalogue in the first place. Good and bad because it’s great music
Still blows me away 30 years later.

So poignant knowing what we do now. RIP big man - your passing still hurts but your music will always stay alive.
Agree completely with SheWoreLemon83. Awesome version of this song, and the whole DVD of this concert is powerful, but I always come away from it feeling sad for the loss of such a talented person.
For me, this song is up there with their big hits of the early 80s.

RIP Stuart Adamson !!!! Sometimes I believe this song had so much Meaning to You, that that's why you're Gone from this Earth.

I was born in the wrong decade. We will never see this sort of quality ever again making it big in the music industry. Sad.
