Picking up my first leopard gecko this saturday and have decided on a female, thanks for making this video so I can better look out for any potential issues in the future and give her the happiest and safest life I can!
All of my leos are female. None have ever bred, but the older two are about 7 and the younger 6. I’ve heard about females having particular issues, so I’m really glad to find some more information on this.
Hello there, I want to first thank you, as an active subscriber and watcher of your channel, Bc it’s amazing! I’m in the USA and I’ve been a registered vet tech for over 12 years and I’ve exclusively now worked in exotics with a board certified exotics veterinarian for over a year! I’ve always owned reptiles and a crested and leopard gecko were my first two pets growing up (the care is SO much better now than it was back then; and these species always hold such a special place in my heart (as I have one of each currently 😍). I wanted to reach out to you as I just recently went through this surgery with my personal pet, my frilled dragon. I preformed her anesthesia, while my amazing doctor and resident preformed her surgery and 6 days later she is eating/drinking and having normal eliminations! All positive signs she is going to make a full recovery! I have learned so much this past year and few months with working exclusively with exotics and my wonderful doctor, and I wanted to send you some more information on this subject (and I have more photos from her procedure I can send), but basically explaining my experience with my lizard and some updated info on why we cannot fully “spay-remove all reproductive organs” in a reptile to prevent this from happening again in their future (Bc unfortunately there is a reason).
I had one of my leopard geckos pass away due to yolk coelomitis (which is when the stuck follicles burst). She was behaving pretty normally other than the lack of eating, and we actually took her to the ER first. The follicular stasis didn't show up on the X-ray so we took her to the vet for a diagnosis. Unfortunately, our usual vet was away on a conference trip, and this secondary vet was more experienced with birds and had no idea what was going on with her. She passed before our usual vet came back into town. Our remaining female is doing super well, thankfully, but I watch her like a hawk every ovulation season. (I know I'll get asked - they weren't housed together, we just got them at the same time as juveniles. One was "mine" and the other was my partner's. We both take care of big girl Izzy.) This information is super beneficial to reptile owners who haven't yet dealt with this problem. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for making this video. I have a female leopard gecko who is now one and a half years old and i did not know this could happen. So i am really happy that you made this video so i can look out for my little angel . :)
I am so glad that you made this video. My girl Bella passed away from this and she was young. He belly looked just like the side by side you showed. I was told from a breeder she was just having her first ovulation. She was acting completely normal and then she was gone. If I had seen this video, I might have been able to save her. RIP Bella.
Once my crested gecko started laying eggs I have been paranoid about her getting egg bound, now i have another thing to keep watch over 😵💫😓 she is a trooper though! She started going into ovulation when she was 13 months old! Now she is 2yo and I can't even remember the number of infertile clutches she's laid ..She is super healthy and is the spunkiest little creature I have ever owned lol 😂
Aww i'm quite lucky with Lyra, it seems quite straight forward, she gets a bit more active and really wants insects, then pops out two eggs august-sept time, and then back to normal. If only the leos were like that 🙈
I have a female gecko named Geo so thank you for the info just in case! I appreciate how much info and knowledge you can give out to the reptile community!
Thank you for this! I breed my leopard gecko and I love her so much! I didn't know that this was a condition was a thing. So thank you I will look out for this in the future!
Thank you for putting this out , we are new gecko parents ( mango just turned 1 ) and she is doing quite well . This was very helpful , I also love the pie chart and might screen shot it for later .

Now I know what happened to my brothers leopard gecko a few years ago. This entire time I thought that it was constipation. She was very healthy then all of the sudden she got very fat in her stomach area, her eyes were redish and got puffy. Now I have more information to take even better care of my leo!❤️
Thank you for this video! Now I think I know what is wrong with my gecko. The last time at the vet they checked her up with an X-Ray and they said they didn't find anything that could be worrying and my gecko was doing good the following weeks but her belly was still kinda thick and I thought maybe she has constipation but giving her baths didn't helped much and I saw those round white thingies on her belly but on the internet I never ever came across this condition that you are mentioning now! So thank you for this! I'm going to ask the vet if they could do an ultrasound on her this time.
I found this video at the perfect time omfg,, I took my gecko to the vet just yesterday and she was diagnosed with this- Holy crap it’s so scary waiting for her surgery date to come round lmao. I’m just hoping she sticks through it till we can get her sorted
I was deciding between a male and female & ultimately I decided on a male mainly because I didn’t feel like I had the skills yet to handle any issues that could arise with a female. My new friend arrived yesterday & he’s settling in nicely. I really appreciate your videos because it helped give me information that I wouldn’t have known had I not binged your channel the past few months ❤️. I hope to one day adopt a female when I’m ready.
I have both, and they are the best. They have laid eggs, so I will definitely be keeping and eye out for that condition. I love them dearly. They are the best pets ever.
I appreciate you touching on this subject. I wish there were more videos to enlighten us before any problem arises. If we know of issues, we can health check weekly. 💙🍀
This is what it was, my first leopard gecko died from this condition. She was very young, like, pretty young and she was too young to go and a tragedy, cried so hard my nose bled. Rest In Peace Cleo. YES, this can happen to young leopard geckos. The picture shown looked exactly like it was she was when she passed. If your gecko looks like the one in the picture it’s likely too late :( This is for sure what happened to my poor baby.
One of my leos had this and had to have her ovaries removed. She shed soon after surgery and ripped her stitches so I had to take her to an emergency veterinary hospital to be restitched. Thankfully she is now doing really well.
Omg I love your videos! I have been watching you for at least two years now and I have been learning so much from you and I have the courage to tell my parents I want a leopard gecko but I just need to find a good heat lamp that will not over heat and burn the house down.
@@kitkatky ceramic heat emitter/deep heat projector, going down onto slate rocks, with a habistat dimming thermostat. You should be all good. Just check many reptile forums and videos for good reputable heat emitters/deep heat projectors that are available in your country. Good luck!
My gecko one day started to breathe weird and we rushed her to the vet thinking it was a respiratory issue. When we got to the vet, she started to act completely normal. We got her checked out anyways and it turned out she had some fluid in her stomach. She was put on a special medication and we had to force feed her a special formula. We took her back to the vet about a month later and the fluid when away, but there was an egg that was deformed and infected. We got more meds and another month or so later we took her back to the vet. The vet said that she was perfectly fine and that I could just try to feed her live insects again. I forgot to mention she hadn't eaten on her own for 3 months. Then 3 weeks after her last vet appointment, she started to eat insects again. Now she is a very healthy almost 2 year old leopard gecko who is 64g! Her name is Gizmo and I love her to death :)
If I get a female bearded dragon, I'll definitely keep my tabs on: 1) If she is an ovulator 2) If she is in follicular stasis 3) How her weight compares before and after ovulation 4) How many eggs she laid 5) If any are fertile(if it's her first, it's probably breeding from a previous owner, if not, it's probably Parthenogenesis, which is known to happen in bearded dragons) If I do get fertile eggs, regardless of whether they are from retained sperm or parthenogenesis, I'll need to get a reptile egg incubator, stat.
Me geckos a girl she’s not lazy like falling asleep at her water dish but she does move around back and fourth between her warm and cold hide and likes to bask in the light on-top of her warm hide so I think she’s good but I would like your opinion. She also has a normal feeding Schedule and I hold her almost every day
My first gecko, Krokmou, died at 8 months old of that. Got her in August 2020 and she died in April 2021. I loved her. :( she survived the surgery but died two days after.
I have two male leos and I plan on only getting male reptiles unless I end up breeding which I don't really expect with leos but maybe another gecko, but I end up watching all health videos for leos because I just want to make sure I have as much info on them as possible
Do you know if this effects geckos that have never laid eggs before? My gecko is around 3 years old and, so far as I know, has never laid an egg. Thanks!
I had a female leopard gecko. And she passed away 2 days ago from fatty liver disease. No clue how it happened since I did not over feed her and the intects from what I knew were always nutritious and dusted. Will that be covered in your book because I followed the diets I researched and everything and it seemingly happened out of nowhere. I'm still waiting on a crypto test as well though just in case.
This actually sound like how my leo Tea-ga passed. She was eating so well like she always does then one day she just stopped. I thought she was ovulating and just wasn't feeling it but everyday I offered her food but within the week she had passed
I don't know how common this is in crested geckos, but I will definitely keep a closer watch on my girls now! Thank you! They lay infertile eggs like clockwork during the season and haven't had any issues so far. But it still always causes me so much stress. They just look so uncomfortable and restless.
Ah interesting, yeah lyra only seems to lay one clutch around aug-sept. But sadly due to complications with eggs with my first crestie, Isla, she passed away :(
6/10 because I have a 7y old female and she stoped eating from November 2020 to April 2021 and was more letargic, I got her to the vet each month to make sure she was okay and started force feed her (not direct in the stomac, but I was puting watery foods in her mout) she was a chunky girl reaching 71gr at first and got down to only bones :( I was livid... But now she is back to being fat again loll I will keep an eye on her tho. Thx girl to make us more aware :) great video, stay safe all.
I think it's great you're making people aware about this topic, it's important to know. Quick question: my leo has a little white spot on her belly that's sometimes visible and sometimes isn't; is this normal? I know it's not an egg, it's just a round white spot only a few millimeters- perhaps it's some kind of organ?
Please look out for this condition. I thought my 4.5 year old female was just ovulating so not eating. Turned out she had follicular stasis. She had surgery to remove follicles and ovaries but did not wake from anesthesia. I'm devastated.
In 2022 I had 3 ladies from a not professional breader. All three died due to follicular stasis (two were euthanized) within their first 24 month of life 😢. Now i got 3 new girls from an official breader and they are now 10 month old. I am worried as two of them stopped eating again. I am so afraid that they also have the decease. 😢
As far as the surgery goes, some reptiles can regrow their ovaries if even a small fragment is left behind. Not certain if geckos can do it, but veiled chameleons definitely can and my vet and I were very frustrated with her.
As the owner of a 7 month old female leopard gecko I am 10/10 worried. I get stressed when she goes off food when she’s at the very start of shedding😩 Ovulation season when she’s sexually mature will no doubt stress me out, oh the joys of reptiles
Just out of curiosity is it normal for a female gecko to never lay an egg? I've had my girl for four years and she hasn't laid an egg once...That I've known of at least.
My female is 4, I've had her for 2 years and she's never laid eggs. Female leopard geckos will go through ovulation and won't lay eggs sometimes. Especially if they are singular with no male leopard geckos around.
If no male is around the egg will resolved within their body which is normal. But if a female used to be bred but she’s not breeding this year she might lay unfertilized egg the following year but not continuously if no male is around. Hope that makes sense
I have a busy schedule since my classes started and I feel like I hardly see my gecko anymore. She doesn’t come out until around midnight and I don’t really see her in the mornings anymore. I want to enrich her time in the enclosure (she has a big enclosure) since I don’t get to take her out as often. I want to make sure she’s getting more exercise because she doesn’t sleep a lot lol
Lol, that was a fun misspelling. Like the eggs are on fire and you can hear an ominous chanting coming from them. :D And the eggs hatch into little demonic gecko babies that crave the souls of mealworms.
Hi I’m actually concerned about this at the moment, my Dot is 7 month and I’m starting to think this is the problem with her. Going to go to the vet but it looks exactly like the photo you had in your video
we need more exotic vets! i have one in my area but i’m gonna be honest, they aren’t that great. i brought my previous leopard gecko to them and i swear i knew more than they did, it was super disappointing and i felt so helpless.
This happened to our 7 month old Leopard Gecko too. We sadly lost her after her operation. Vet said she had seen a batch and blamed poor breading. We now have a new gecko that made it to 1 year last month! Not sure if male or female but know what to look for now.
Aww I'm so sorry to hear that :( so that's just like Dagmara (the girl who sent me the photos of her gecko) Such a shame. I do wonder if its happening so often in Poland whether its down to bad breeding/bad genes.
This video has really helped me, i have a male leopard gecko, and i am probably getting a second gecko, but im still deciding between a male and female. Still not sure which one.
Damn. I got a gecko from my school (was taken care of very badly and they gave it to me). I don’t have any experience with geckos so i’m kinda panicking here. My gecko is a 3-4 yrs old female and hasnt ever laid eggs... now she ate sooooo much during the summer but now she won’t eat at all. She used to climb and be very active during the summer but now she is just in her wetboxes and won’t come out. I cant see any signs off eggs in her stomach but i’m considering taking her to the vet..
Is she losing weight? What’s the hot spot temperature and is how is it being measured (analog thermometer, digital, or temperature gun)? What heat source are you using?
@@nightinggale6470 she is still pretty much the same size as she was when i got her. But she has lost weight a little. The hot spot is 34-38°C and i have a digital thermostat. I have a heat lamp (idk if it’s called that) and a heatmat.. :/
@@nea6849 ok, the hot spot is getting a little too hot. I’d aim for 34-36. Get a temperature gun, they’re the most accurate thing for surface temps. You don’t need the heat mat. What kind of heat lamp is it?
So this may be a dumb question, but do all female leos ovulate? I have two females and they've never ovulated (or at least I've never noticed!) Have you done a video on it?
I’ve had my Leo for a while now, and I was hoping to get some eggs this year. I’ve even got her a mate but it seems I cannot get her to ovulate. She laid a infertile egg a few years back, but I haven’t seen another egg since. Anyone know how I can get her to ovulate?
Perhaps it's something to do with the climate of Poland? I'd be curious to know if this a more common problem in other parts of the world with a similar climate to Poland. I started getting the "what's wrong with my leopard gecko" messages a week after I made a TikTok for my leopard gecko. It's extremely frustrating. For me I knew my nearest exotic vet was 2 hours away when I got my leo, I knew I was making a commitment to drive 2 hours to get him vet care from day 1, and it's not a big deal to me, the exotic vet works with a regular vet that's 30 minutes from me if I ever need x-rays or antibiotics or something simple, and I don't mind driving. If that's not the case for someone, you're 100% right, they just shouldn't get the pet.
Hmm, I don't think that it's our climate. BUT now I have two other leo-girls which have heating spot 24/7, no night-drops. Both ovulated, both absorbed their ova (not sure if that's latin plural of "ovum"), both were eating well during their ovulation. Meanwhile with both girls that Rebecca mentions in her video: Iunis (the one who survived surgery) and Amaris (the one that didn't make it... folicles literally smashed her liver) I used to think that night drop of temperature is some sine qua non :/
one of my geckos is pregnant right now and it is her first time. she acts normal (eats normaly, has a lot of energy, gets enough vitamins, goes to the warm side of the terrarium, has wet hide tide boxes). she is her usual self but i have never seen her trying to press the eggs out or digging in her hide tide so im worried.
@@nightinggale6470 she has two tide boxes in her terrarium. one is some kind of paper that i keep wet since my other geckos like it for shedding( i also change it often) and the other one has coconut husk that you mix with water . my other geckos never had any problem with these hide tides. she lives with another female that is the same age. they have never shown any stress or dominance around the each other so i havent seperated them.
@@straykz135 I strongly recommend separating them ASAP. I have seen countless cases of females seeming fine for years, then snapping and seriously injuring or killing each other. What’s the substrate?
@@nightinggale6470 ok but im not sure if i should seperate them now or wait until she has laid her eggs because i dont want to stress her now. i cant find what the name of the substrate was because we bought it at a trade fair one year ago but its like one of those blocks where you need a little bit and then put it into hot water you can find similar ones if you look up leopardgecko coconut husk
I've been thinking about setting up a mealworm farm to save buying mealworms for my leo and I was wondering, do the draws with mesh bottoms actually work?? Do the eggs fall through into the lower tray??
@@nightinggale6470 what are similar safe alternatives? My female will only eat worms, not crickets, and I live in Florida so dubia roaches are illegal and aren't sold here.
@@kierstensuglio1810 you can get discoid roaches in Florida, which are just as good as dubias. Regarding worms: Silkworms can be fed regularly. Mealworms, super worms, hornworms, and black soldier fly larvae can be fed occasionally.
now I'm worried. i got a pair of "female" baby leperd geckos almost a year ago. ( just a side note I'm not interested in breeding my leperd geckos at all. so this was a freak accident) i figured out that one of my female leperd gecko was actually a Male and the other one a female. she has laid a few eggs now and I'm consumed about her developing this healing problem. I've been considering separating thor and lumi. but thor is really overprotective of lumi and he gets up set when luna isn't in the inclusion. what should i do
When I bought my Leo I was told they were a boy but now I’m 99% sure they’re a girl ;-; I really really hope that they don’t need to lay an egg anytime soon q-q
it starts moving faster when the leopardgeckos is breathing more so when hes for example exited, scared or stressed. by my grckos it always starts moving more and faster when they are hunting their food and it slows down when they are relaxed. the more your gecko gets used to you the slower he will breathe because hes relaxed.
I can’t help it if me and my family move to the other side of town where there is now longer that nearby vet. I don’t have that say in where my parents decide to move just because of a pet of mine.
If you are old enough to care for the pet then you should be able to provide vet care. If you are not old enough then your parents are responsible for the pet and even if you are far and the pet one day needs vet care then it should have it. If you nor your parents cannot provide vet care for your animal then it should be given to someone who can care for it properly. Otherwise if the pet gets sick one day then that is not only neglect but abuse to leave an animal in a sick state. I had to get someone to drive me 2 hours for my lizard to be seen by a vet.
I just recently bought 2 female geckos Thalia&Hinata, the place I bought it from said i can put the girls together but not a guy. The main question I am wanting to ask is what if I do not breed the girl geckos? Would I have a problem with that or do I need to get a boy????
House them separately, there’s a good chance they’ll fight sooner or later if kept together. I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking but no, I wouldn’t breed them. And they’re unlikely to have reproductive issues without being bred.
@@diligentvlogz7015 “cuddling” is a major sign of dominance, not a good thing. Calling it cuddling is anthropomorphizing them. Please separate them ASAP. I have seen countless cases of females seeming fine for years, then snapping and seriously injuring or killing each other.

@@Twdsuperfan2010 my little guy arrived yesterday and I love him already. I’ve always wanted reptiles and I am soooo happy!
If your gecko looks like the one in the picture it’s likely too late :(
This is for sure what happened to my poor baby.
Love your vids I get here as fast as I can and I’m still praying for ziggy and all your other geckos 🥺❤️❤️❤️🔥
One of my leos had this and had to have her ovaries removed. She shed soon after surgery and ripped her stitches so I had to take her to an emergency veterinary hospital to be restitched. Thankfully she is now doing really well.
Coming out of my lurker hide to comment for the algorithm because this is a very useful and important video! Thanks so much for this
aw thank you :)
I have a female leopard gecko, her name is fenix. Thanks for making this! I really want the best care for my gecko!!! ♡♡♡
aww no problem :D
This is so interesting! Thank you for showing us this!!!!
No problem :D
Omg I love your videos! I have been watching you for at least two years now and I have been learning so much from you and I have the courage to tell my parents I want a leopard gecko but I just need to find a good heat lamp that will not over heat and burn the house down.
Thats what a thermostat is for by the way :)
@@willow_exe7387 I do know that Willow but it’s the fact of how good the heat lamp is if a leave for at least 12 hours and not cause a fire :) 👏(ˊᗜˋ*)

Thanks, I have 3 female leopard geckos, and my youngest one has laid eggs two years in a row. Definitely good to know.
No problem :D
Very helpful, thanks!
If I get a female bearded dragon, I'll definitely keep my tabs on:
1) If she is an ovulator
2) If she is in follicular stasis
3) How her weight compares before and after ovulation
4) How many eggs she laid
5) If any are fertile(if it's her first, it's probably breeding from a previous owner, if not, it's probably Parthenogenesis, which is known to happen in bearded dragons)
If I do get fertile eggs, regardless of whether they are from retained sperm or parthenogenesis, I'll need to get a reptile egg incubator, stat.
Ah cool, yeah I've heard it can happen in cresties too (parthenogenesis) :)
Thank you so so much for this video. You made me realice why my female gecko died. I felt so so guilty, but now I know is not my fault🖤
Me geckos a girl she’s not lazy like falling asleep at her water dish but she does move around back and fourth between her warm and cold hide and likes to bask in the light on-top of her warm hide so I think she’s good but I would like your opinion. She also has a normal feeding Schedule and I hold her almost every day
If you have any worries its probbably for the best if you contact your vet.
@@CrescentCanine thanks!
My first gecko, Krokmou, died at 8 months old of that. Got her in August 2020 and she died in April 2021. I loved her. :( she survived the surgery but died two days after.
My daughter just be chillin
Awe im so sorry for your loss i love my leos so much so i know it hurts to lose them
Thank you for the info!!
This actually sound like how my leo Tea-ga passed. She was eating so well like she always does then one day she just stopped. I thought she was ovulating and just wasn't feeling it but everyday I offered her food but within the week she had passed
My leo passed the same way. Felt helpless but maybe this was our answer. We found her in the water dish like ziggy was to
Hi I love ur videos :))
Can a female gecko develop them if they have never been in contact or bred with a male?
Yep thats the white bit of the poop most likely :) Especially if your gecko is a baby and their stomach is still quite see-through lol
Good to know, thanks!
That’s a cute leopard gecko 🦎
Do the follicular stasis show up on an xray at all?
Please look out for this condition. I thought my 4.5 year old female was just ovulating so not eating. Turned out she had follicular stasis. She had surgery to remove follicles and ovaries but did not wake from anesthesia. I'm devastated.
OML thanks for all this HELPFUL INFO I had 6 1 male Diego And then astra female. And then ziggy female. Now I got mini and idk
How common is this condition for leopard geckos? 🦎
I believe this has something to do with the temp. But I could be wrong
Are you sure it is female?
My female is 4, I've had her for 2 years and she's never laid eggs. Female leopard geckos will go through ovulation and won't lay eggs sometimes. Especially if they are singular with no male leopard geckos around.
If no male is around the egg will resolved within their body which is normal. But if a female used to be bred but she’s not breeding this year she might lay unfertilized egg the following year but not continuously if no male is around. Hope that makes sense
@@holliebelshaw843 Okay, thank you so much!
@@shuaizhou589 It does make sense and also answers my question. Thank you so much!
Have you tried getting her out and handling her in the evening?
So, my gecko tends to lay in her water bowl for this past week. And she has a skinny tail, hasn't been eating for about 2 months or so...
Thank you!💖
I think I made a good choice on geting a male LeopardGecko
When do Leo’s start laying infernal eggs
Lol, that was a fun misspelling. Like the eggs are on fire and you can hear an ominous chanting coming from them. :D And the eggs hatch into little demonic gecko babies that crave the souls of mealworms.

WHEN GECKO LAY FIRE EGGS?
Hi I’m actually concerned about this at the moment, my Dot is 7 month and I’m starting to think this is the problem with her. Going to go to the vet but it looks exactly like the photo you had in your video
My first leopard gecko passed away from what I believed was her being egg bound, but now I’m wondering if this was really what happened.
we need more exotic vets! i have one in my area but i’m gonna be honest, they aren’t that great. i brought my previous leopard gecko to them and i swear i knew more than they did, it was super disappointing and i felt so helpless.
also THANK YOU so much for this video! super necessary and helpful for people who don’t know what’s going on with their female leopard gecko.
i got a leopard gecko about 4 days ago and its a baby maybe 3-5 weeks old uh any tips?
That’s pretty young. Where’d you get him/her from? Be sure to quarantine on paper towel for the first six weeks to monitor their health.
I know this is would be hard to answer, but is this possibly how bindii could have also passed away?
This video is def a concern for me because I have 6 females and I don’t breed them
My boyfriend and I had to put down our 11 year old leopard gecko. He had a really severe tumor.
aww im so sorry to hear that 🥺😪
Is this only for breeding geckos?
I have a male luckily but will consider with future Leos!
This video has really helped me, i have a male leopard gecko, and i am probably getting a second gecko, but im still deciding between a male and female. Still not sure which one.
How rare/common is this I’m very confused and now very worried
Mine sleeps by water bowl, won’t eat and is lethargic pre-shed.
Some lay eggs, most reabsorb their eggs. Usually they go off food when ovulating. Your geckos are housed separately, right?
@@nightinggale6470 ohh okay that's good to know! And yes, one is 12 years old one is 3 years old
I’ve had my Leo for a while now, and I was hoping to get some eggs this year. I’ve even got her a mate but it seems I cannot get her to ovulate. She laid a infertile egg a few years back, but I haven’t seen another egg since. Anyone know how I can get her to ovulate?
7:00 omg look at her
Perhaps it's something to do with the climate of Poland?
What’s her substrate? Are your geckos housed together?
I’m not sure. But just keep in mind that mealworms aren’t healthy for their main diet and should make up no more than 25% of their diet.

Is it ok my female doesn't lay eggs
now I'm worried. i got a pair of "female" baby leperd geckos almost a year ago. ( just a side note I'm not interested in breeding my leperd geckos at all. so this was a freak accident) i figured out that one of my female leperd gecko was actually a Male and the other one a female. she has laid a few eggs now and I'm consumed about her developing this healing problem. I've been considering separating thor and lumi. but thor is really overprotective of lumi and he gets up set when luna isn't in the inclusion. what should i do
Separate them ASAP. They’ll adjust to the change given enough time, and it’s for the best.
When I bought my Leo I was told they were a boy but now I’m 99% sure they’re a girl ;-; I really really hope that they don’t need to lay an egg anytime soon q-q
If you have one girl on its own, you may never experience this, or the symptoms of ovulation wont be as extreme, so fingers crossed :)
My leopard gecko is 2 2/3 years old and hasn’t laid eggs does that mean He/She is a Male?
Not necessarily, most females don’t lay eggs.
What does it mean when my leopard gecko has his neck flap thing keep going fast
it starts moving faster when the leopardgeckos is breathing more so when hes for example exited, scared or stressed. by my grckos it always starts moving more and faster when they are hunting their food and it slows down when they are relaxed. the more your gecko gets used to you the slower he will breathe because hes relaxed.
Ziggy was my favorite :(
I can’t help it if me and my family move to the other side of town where there is now longer that nearby vet. I don’t have that say in where my parents decide to move just because of a pet of mine.
You should still be able to drive to the vet if/when necessary.
If i may ask, my gecko is not licking it's mouth or nose, is that okay?
That’s fine.
@@nightinggale6470 owh ok, thanks for the info:)
@@nightinggale6470 I have had them for a week together and they like to cuddle and be with each other, I will keep that in mind thank you.
@@diligentvlogz7015 “cuddling” is a major sign of dominance, not a good thing. Calling it cuddling is anthropomorphizing them. Please separate them ASAP. I have seen countless cases of females seeming fine for years, then snapping and seriously injuring or killing each other.
