some experienced suggestion of a hard floor folder vacuum but with 4 pets cats and dogs that cleans very well
Do any of these have the option of using the cord option if I forgot to charge or if the battery wanes down over time?
Having used stick cordless vaccums for years, I have these points to make:
1) The new 'bag at the handle' design is complete boob bait. Its not ergonomic lugging around all the weight at the top of a long stick, and having no weight at the brush end to grip the floor. Sadly all the new models appear to be coming out like this.
2) You *must* have led lights at the brush end to see the dust. You'd be amazed at what you miss.
3) DC plugins are also made-to-break. The fragile, wiggly socket goes out in a year or so rendering the vaccum to the trash heap. You want a charging cradle. Sadly, almost all the new designs now have those confounded circular DC plugs.
4) 2-in-1 is a must, and a rotating/powered hand brush attachment also to get pet hair off furniture
5) No endlessly throwing money away replacing funky disposable filters. A single washable, perferrably stainless steel filter is the way to go.
6) All that said, I have been looking for months for a stick vac with all 5, the Holy Grail in the $100-$150 range.
Seems nonexistent, if anyone knows of one let me know. The Eureka Ergorapido was it, but of course now discontinued.
The new Dyson V15 Detect would work well. It is very easy to move around, has a green laser to detect dirt/dust, has a very robust plug-in system/wall mount, comes with a very nice assortment of attachments, and has a filter that is user cleanable once a year. It is very powerful, easy to easy, and an incredible feat of technology. It is however $700. I got one and have no regrets, I plan to keep it for a while.

Bosch will clearly gives me back pain. It' too short that the guy had to bend down to such degree.

Good reviews but... however, I was disappointed to see the # 1 pick which appears to belong in the hand-held category and not compared to the regular height cordless vacs. How did the reviewer miss the extreme bending by the man in the Bosch ad needed to use the vacuum.Back issues are very common and your #1 would be a big no for most people unless they are using it for RV, van, very small space or rare useage. I am looking for a new cordless for my small downstairs area and there's no way I'd choose the Bosch as it would cause back pain, despite my short stature.

DO not buy a Tineco! I bought mine in August this year and have had the wall mount charging die. Now the head unit is over heating and draining the batteries in less then 25 seconds. It is flimsy and wont even pick up any amount of kitty litter nor food crumbs.

It looks excruciating on the lower back noticing the manner you were vacuuming not to sure at all it's convenient or even wise especially for the elderly or hard working people who are seeking the convenience of such an item it was immediately noticeable beyond the distracting sales pitch..
