- A nostalgic trip into a narrow window of fashion history: the neon world of early ‘90s beach fashion.
‘90s kid memories of SoCal beach vacations and what people wore around 1990-1993
The shifting color palettes of the early, mid, and late ‘90s
TV shows with the ‘90s beach aesthetic: Baywatch, Saved by the Bell, California Dream, 90210
Thrift haul: normcore early ‘90s T-shirts
Glad you talked about the Save By The Bell influence. Also, The Fresh Prince of BelAir and Beverly Hills 90210 🥰
Baywatch colorful fashions and beach bodies with a Beach Boy revival concert vibes are a specific slice of California dreaming that's a fun escape.
Gotta represent CA! ❤️
Theresa - Thank you for another colorful episode and a trip back in time. Once again you have presented a fun, vibrant and neon extravaganza. I was quite a bit older than you back then but my reference point for clothing styles was beverly Hills 90210! I also don't believe you'll be haunted. The ghostly previous owner will probably be pleased that you are immortalizing his attire!
Thank you! He seemed like a fashionable and cool guy! You must have been in your 20s (?) during this time? Did you partake in '90s neon beach fashion?
Thersa, I was in my 30s back then and not much of a beachgoer but I certainly had some of that neon attire on occasion!
I also associate neon with the south-west coast, pastels with the south-east coast, and neutrals with the northern coasts.
Yes! The south-east is very pastel, isn't it? Charleston. Miami. Love it!
I liked Saved by the Bell, but California Dreams was even more my jam.
I still remember the theme song to California Dreams🤣
oh and Hilfiger and Fila are back in style....I should have saved my high school wardrobe
yes they are! should have saved everything!
That 90s Leo hair has taken ahold of my soul and I'll never find a man more attractive than when he has that hair.
It really is the best hairstyle ever.
These neon Memphis daydreams were out in force on the late 80's and early 90's NJ beaches, right along side the raggedy cut off shorts and threadbare band t-shirts. I'll never forget the sand in my palm tree Vans.
Love the images! It's a vibe!
Love your videos! They are always so cozy😊
Thank you!! 😊
Damnnn people who were middle aged in the 90s are now going through their 'estate sale' phase. Life is so short. **Edit: Did you turn all your books around the proper direction? Glad you sorted yourself out =)
yeah, they stayed in the proper direction and there they shall stay for months, years, until I feel the need to redecorate
I had the pleasure of watching this video after viewing "Psycho" before it left Amazon Prime. It was interesting getting a glimpse of iconic Hollywood babe Janet Leigh in a vintage bra and slip followed by your neon-clad babelicious beach bunnies. Definitely an anthropological jolt. It was also a nice surprise seeing you seamlessly reference the Joe Hill book, as I"m currently about 200 pages into his dad's magnum opus, "It." Anyway, thanks for the fluorescent fun!
I love Psycho. I've actually watched it so many times I can quote it and last year, I saw it in theaters.
Admittedly, referencing Joe Hill's Heart Shaped Box was super random but I think it worked. You never know what random books I'll reference in my videos (keeps you on your toes). Love 'It" too, though I read it about 10+ years ago.
@@teresachaotic.corner Awesome! I can't remember the last time I watched "Psycho," but it's been long enough to have forgotten how that incredible Bernard Herrmann theme over the opening credits is an absolutely brilliant goosebump-inducing hook. And yes, your literary references add great spice to your videos. Love that you do that!
that opening credit is a masterpiece!
@@teresachaotic.corner ❤💯%
I am a man miss miss DKNY clothing. I still say babes.
You know who else said 'babes?" Johnny Lawrence! (I sometimes do too).
@@teresachaotic.corner whoooooaaa!
