I appreciate you for keeping me in the loop of this stuff while making it entertaining, as I don't use tiktok anymore

I really appreciate that you've already put forethought into this dystopian Asian lady look in your old age. I'm always trying to decide what my old lady aesthetic should be. One minute I'm thinking mad scientist-core, the next moment I'm thinking more old Hollywood, then I think maybe we just do All The Colors, I don't know. Who would have thought my favorite aesthetic at 42 would be Edwardian lake vacation.

Can we make Endwardian Lake Vacation a thing? I'm imagining A Room with a View meets Anne of Green Gables.
I figure since the future is heading toward an inevitable dystopia, I might as well dress like I live there 😅

@@teresachaotic.corner Exactly!! That's exactly what it is. I stumbled into it when I found this collection of dresses at the antique mall that are all serving that vibe and I was like, okay, I'm feeling this. Now I keep buying like, blouses with sailor collars and little lace collars and longer skirts and just...running with it.
But dystopian Blade Runner chic is an awesome old age look. If we're still here at all 😅

@@lidiyafoxgloveauthor As a fan of Sailor Moon, I will always love the sailor collar!
I keep meaning to film a video about Edwardian fashion! I love the Victorian Age/Gilded Age fashion but mostly to appreciate it from a modern day perspective. Can't work with the ultra tight corset and bustle lol

Muskets, big antique desks, colonial history books, the win95 for dummies… you painted my late father so eloquently. May he rest in peace.

I think as millennials we grasped on to the neutral/crisp/clean/minimalist aesthetic because we grew up with Paris Hilton as a fashion icon. We did our time with the rhinestones, hot pink, zebra print, and flared nails. lol we’re traumatized and needed something simple and tranquil. lol.

The style you described were all the old people i knew when i was little, my grandma and her friends, who all survived the second WW, lived a turbulent live and loved to dress in colours, loved history, collecting trinkets and decorating their houses with it

I do have to add, that those fashion choices were usually accidents, cause "you wouldn't throw away a perfectly good sweater!"

Ironically, its the same style as my mom who had to leave everything behind in Vietnam... a mix of frugality meets love of color & history. Thank you for watching!

This channel has given me estate sale nightmares. Some day, a middle aged youtuber may be picking through my belongings like a bargain hunting archeologist, evaluating whatever sad, orthopedic shoes were in my closet instead of on my feet when I kicked the bucket. If a man dies and his place smells of tobacco, liquor and motor oil, it means that he avoided the nursing home, which smells much, much different. Great video!

I'm checking out the orthopedic shoes for myself. 😉 And I have a lotion sample that smells like tobacco and motor oil. Thank you for watching!

18:20 When you criticized the clean girl for being too fussy and not being able to deal with the messiness of life. I mean, sure, we should all be able to have the capacity to deal with the curve balls but I don't think the mentality a mob wife has is something to strive for. It's normal to have a breakdown if your husband goes to jail or gets whacked.
Embracing the messiness of life is not marrying someone who is in an illegal business and keeping a blind eye on what they do.
Also, some of the wives in The Sopranos did not know the extent of how violent and psychotic their husbands could be. I don't think they would stay calm if they found out what exactly happened to Adriana.

    • @teresachaotic.corner
      @teresachaotic.corner  6 месяцев назад

No doubt the mob wife has breakdowns and table flipping moments, but she picks herself up and tries again ... or raises hell. At the end of the day, she's a fictional character, a flawed one, and yet, flaws make for a good story. This year she's an aesthetic 😉 She's definitely not a lifestyle coach.
      Thank you for watching❤️
