Bill O'Brien was so disliked that even people who have no interest in the Texans were happy to hear he was fired.
Facts
AFC south fans wished the texans kept him lmao
I fucking love Bill O'Brien, I have nothing but the most wonderful things to say about him.
-A *Miami* *Dolphins* fan
Fivepointsvids said that the Texans and tanking but their 1st and 2nd rounders belong to the Dolphins
Bill o’Brien went to my high school:(
Nothing funnier than a team tanking during the wrong season lol
Wassup Cole. U need more subs
Luv ur videos
The Chiefs won the tank bowl in 2012. 2013 is one of the weakest first rounds. Hopkins being the notable exception. However that was the perfect year to get Andy Reid and Alex Smith. Plus Eric Fisher is the only first overall to win a Super Bowl with the team that drafted him since Peyton Manning with the Colts.
Detroit been tanking the wrong season since 1957
@Fries why
For anyone wondering why the Jets aren't mentioned in this video, you have to actually have a goal when tanking. They don't tank for draft picks. Their draft picks cause them to tank 😂
Someone once theorized that Pete Rozelle stayed on a commissioner as long as he did just to laugh at Jets fans on Draft Day.
The Jets have been "Rebuilding" since Superbowl III
@@leomonster1973 you do realize the jets were constant contenders between 97 and 2013 right?

Bill o brien is a genius. He made everyone in Houston forget about the Astros on a weekly basis.
but tree was right about him being a hack
He also made the people in Houston forget about the Rockets choking in the playoffs and underachieving.
Sports in Houston are cursed. I don't know what happened or when, but they are. A Houston football team winning a championship is one of the seven signs of the apocalypse.
@@satagaming9144 buddy shut the fuck up the Astros made 5 straight ALCS several world series and won one like 4 years ago
Failed NFL rebuilds: the Lions since the 1950s
Failed nfl Builds*
The Lions are the Packers and Bears favorite punching bag.
They never started building 💀. They get once in a generation talent (Barry x Calvin) & are like ... ehhhh they’ll win a couple games ... good enough .
@@Reggie2kj had two of the best players in their positions and both of them quit bc they were tired of losing and getting hurt. Feel bad for lions fans the most tbh
The Lions were a mini dynasty in the 1950's. Ever since the Ford family bought the team, they have had only 8 playoff appearances and one playoff win in over 60 years.
People make fun of the Bengals for not winning a playoff game since the Soviet Union was a country. At least people remember the Bengals once upon a time being Super Bowl contenders in the 1980's and the only team to actually make the 49ers sweat in the big game. Not too many people remember the last time the Lions won the NFL championship in 1957.
I think it's now safe to say, signing those free agents didn't blow up in the Bucs face. Their 2020 signings scored the only touchdowns in the Super Bowl, and will probably be remembered as the greatest FA offseason for one team in NFL history.
the fact the jets didnt make this list even tho they've only had one winning season since mark sanchez is probably one of the most jets things ever.
When did we tank tho? With John Idzik? I think most of our bad seasons we just weren’t capable of doing any better
every year I wait for those magic words...
"IT'S TIME FOR TANK BOWL!" *Que tank bowl theme*
Could’ve just had several periods of the Cleveland Browns

As a Raven fan who remembers Browns going at 7-4, I thought Browns were compitention. Then Johnny Football was here and you know what happened.

I see what you did there
You forgot my Bungals in Cincinnati, I mean if any team deserved a award of some kind this is the team and this is the award. Even when we made the playoffs we found ways to lose, thanks Vontaze Burfict, sure we had a few years of excitement but since our inception we spent more years sweeping the basement than looking at playoffs. I mean if it wasn't for the browns we would have nothing to look forward to in wins.
And now it has gotten even worse
In Lewis's last season, the Bengals won in Atlanta, with a last second touchdown for the game winner. It was the last time Andy Dalton, A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert would ever be on the same field together as teammates, as Eifert had yet another horrible injury.
One word: Ownership.
now in afc championship
Have fun at SoFi!
Somedays you just wake up feeling like the 2017 browns 🙁
The only sport in which tanking even potentially works is basketball. In other sports, no one player sufficiently alter the team makeup - not even a football QB or a baseball pitcher has this effect. You need a good coach, and then you need to incrementally improve your players across the board - which by almost by definition means you are actively trying to achieve a middling record. Only after you've assembled that nucleus can one or two impact players elevate you to contention.
I wonder how many times he sits at the computer while editing and goes “oh yea that ones funny” and laughs out loud to himself when editing the jokes.
Oooo this video needs an update. That would be fun.
Head coach gm and dictator had me dying especially since I’m a Texan fan lol
As a Cowboys fan, I expect them to disappoint me and end up on this list in a decade.
They have been doing this for most of the 25 years. They deserve a place of their own.
@@tannerwilson4843 This video focused on teams that either committed to tanking or fell into it, Dallas's last 25 years looks more like an example of being stuck on the treadmill of mediocrity.
The whole NFC East this year
As a Washington fan, I set my expectations low, and those fuckers bring a shovel.
Until Jerry Jones drops dead and they hire a competent football man to make personnel decisions, the Cowboys will continue to disappoint and be a dysfunctional organization.

Should the colts really be on here? If tanking and then not winning a Super Bowl is the bar, the bar might be a little too high.
I was really like he is reaching with the colts like he could have said the Jets or even the Bengals
The cowboy are the last team to win super bowl because of tanking it actually overrated to actually tanked
The early '10s Chiefs and got dang Brodie Croyle.
One of the positives you have with Phillip Rivers is that you have 9 future prospects in your team.
"glued together"
Me: I bet it's about the colts
Dude I LOVE your channel it is the best NFL Channel EVER!!!!
Wow, thanks!
Jets are so bad that they can't even tank properly to land on this list
Title: failed nfl team rebuilds/ tanks
Me: so the 2020-2021 jaguars
The Bill O’Brien tank was successful! He got his dream job as an assistant for Nick Saban.
Bill O'Brien was going to save Penn State football, but it was too hard,he couldn't deal with it. Thank God. LoL
John Paxton and Gar Forman had the “perennial rebuild” mentality
@Kevin H mixed with Reinsdorf and McCaskey frugality for key players, Bulls and Bears love making smokescreen decisions that look like they chasing 🏆 “contention”
Browns tanked for Baker, Myles Garret, Denzel Ward, and Nick Chubb. Now we 9-3. Tanks are worth it, just watch the jets in 5 years.
Me as a browns fan: "woah, this 2 decade rebuild has been worth going 6-3 so far this year thank you very much"
@Beer King shhhhhhhh, maybe well win and be 7-3 today
Matt Schaub and Gary Kubiak were so good at one point
Matt had a 527 yard game
it all went south after Suh kicked him
Kubiak, a Houston area high school product, won a Super Bowl as head coach in Denver. As someone who graduated from college twice near Houston and taught at those schools, I will bet that Texan fans have not forgotten that.
My Lions are not tanking!
That implies we are gonna get better eventually :(
We are a historic 6-10 to 10-6. Never too bad but never too good
We were alright until Matt Patricia happened.
He's also a Hack.
DON’T… remind me.
-A Texans fan
Lmao love seeing teams tank for nothing a decade later
Always thought the word Good had 2 O’s in it, thanks for teaching me something new today. Praise be to Good!
I think the Browns' tank has finally come to an end.
The Lions however...

@@mottdropsie Nothing but pain since 1963.
When the Jets are so bad at being bad they’re not even mentioned in this video
Great video. Could've added the '05 Texans and Saints, who played each other in the final game of the year to see who would win the 1st pick. Dubbed The Bush Bowl, ended with and obviously missed on purpose kick attempt that sailed far from the net and right into the crowd, atleast someone got a souvenir. But the sad part is, as we all know, the Texans use that pick on Mario Williams instead of what people said was the clear cut number one pick, Reggie Bush. Hope you and your kids are having a great holiday season and thanks for the amazing vids that both me and my father watch, truly means alot to me.
The buc one aged very well lol
The best part about the Texans tanking this year is that Miami will be getting their picks for the first two rounds of the draft 😂 😂 😂
Jets: Phew! We didn't make it to the video...this time. Matt Patricia got fired right after that disasterous social distancing defense show on Tanksgiving...er Thanksgiving.
Haven’t watched yet, but I expect to see the new Browns pretty much forever
Well this one hasn't aged well.
seeing Winston throw pick 6's I start hearing ".....hot pockets"....
Apparently nobody told Bill O'Brien that being a more aggressive version of Belichick DOESN'T WORK!
Fun fact: There is a station named Five Points in Atlanta. It is all meant to be!
💀
Lmao five points is in like every city
This guy comments on literally like every video and he always has a ton of likes
Biggest key to a successful rebuild is getting the QB last. You need a young cheap QB with a strong o-line and defense. Seahawks, Patriots, Steelers and Bills style.
Texans could have been added to this list if BOB had a couple brain cells.
I think the Colts are the closest to that among teams that made this list. Yes, we're going with Philip Rivers right now, but I think we're developing Jacob Eason whom we just drafted in the fourth round. It's just a matter of whether or not he'll end up showing anything resembling the talents of Mahomes lol
@@ColtsPacers1 The only concerning thing is the timeline of the offense and defence might not match up well enough. Eason is probably 2 seasons away from being a quality starter and by then they might start losing pieces and coaches on defence and Nelson and Leonard will need extensions. They will get helped by a weak division. I’d say their best chance at making a deep run is 2022, Titans will probably be heavily declining and the Jags and Texans wont be competitive until 2023.
Seahawks? Unfortunately you are sooo wrong for last years. Strong oline lol
@@Sdfsoepvmsywocmzyw I think you misunderstood my point. I’m talking about the Seahawks with Lynch and Legion of Boom when Russ was young and on his rookie deal. Once a team signs the QB to a mega deal the make up of the will have to shift. That’s the problem with the Eagles and Wentz. If your QB makes 30 million a year he will have to overcome a weak o-line or a lack of weapons or a papier-mâché defence like Russ is doing now.
When 5 point vids uploads its a good day
I can't believe you had the redskins logo blurred out lol I'm so dead 💀 😭 😂
Who would have thought that the Bucs tanking actually lead them to a title
I enjoyed this video. Tanks a lot for the upload.
2020 friends, I bring you this update from the future on each of the teams Five covered.
* Texans: Let's just say the Watson thing didn't quite work out, but the rebuild didn't take as long as you might think. Replacing Bill O'Brien with competent staff was a huge move. Also, if you're into college football, I recommend watching some Ohio State for the next few years.
* Washington: Rejoice! Your team was mercifully freed from the clutches of Dan Snyder. Also, it took some time but you may have found a quarterback.
* Browns: Well, the good news is, Baker Mayfield ended up looking pretty good, and you're going to love the rest of this season. Bad news is, you still have a stupid owner who's going to do stupid owner things.
* Colts: Strap in, it's gonna be a rough ride.
* Buccaneers: What if I told you that not only does the Tom Brady signing pay off in a big way, but that you *don't* fall off a cliff even after he leaves?
* Lions: Honestly, you probably wouldn't believe me if I told you.
Lions? Super bowl favorites? Okay man, puh-lease. Maybe lean off the wacky tobacky just a bit
Note from the future. The Buc's rebuild with Tom Brady and Gronk worked.
Hey the Browns finally got their first playoff win since their re-introduction!
The Texans are so infuriating and I don’t even care for that entire division. So many talented players wasted.
At least they feed Seattle all their star players usually, except for nuke, coming from a Texans fan, former Texans fans been making a name for themselves for a while now
WINSTON: "I love symmetry."
How do you fuck up having Deshaun Watson, D-Hop, and JJ watt on the same team? That is a superbowl contender. Any average football fan could run a team better than that 😂
Huge missed opportunity to have the thumbnail say "Tanks for nothing" instead of tanked
Remember when Jadeveon Clowney was considered a no-brainer for the first overall pick? I honestly couldn't even tell you what team he's on right now.
I think Colts were just misfortunate that Luck had injury issues then his retirement. I think they’ve definitely had more success than all the other teams like Browns, Washington
Colts fan here. Luck always did good when healthy. We were supposed to grow, we were growing. But the injuries were too many to handle
Some teams just built different
bruh imagine tanking just to get winston 😂😂
The guy was a Heisman winner, and won the natty with FSU, a feat the school hasn't repeated since. Wouldn't blame them for tanking for him honestly.
The Detroit Lions: Rebuilding since 1960
I'm surprised that you didn't mention Jacksonville's tank. They spent years from 2007 to 2017 being a team that was so dull and pathetic that no one paid attention to them, then out of the blue were carried by the Sacksonville defense into the playoffs where they crushed the Steelers in Pittsburgh and pushed Darth Brady and Emperor Belichick's Patriots to the limit, only to fall apart once again the year after due to the ineptitude of the front office and the arrogance of the players.
"Trent Richardson, whose field vision made Helen Keller wince."
I SCREAMED
You should do the opposite of this: NFL tanks that worked out phenomenally
I like it
This is where promotion and relegation would be great if we had more leagues similar to the NFL. It would make tanking a thing of the past as tanking means getting sent down to a lower division.
Sounds like a horrible ideal considering the NFL would be losing one of the biggest markets this year in the New York Jets
@@chrisbeach423 They would be more motivation for lower ranked teams not to be relegated. If you know your team isn’t going to be that great, you would still be fighting like crazy to stay up. Watch European soccer domestic leagues near the end of the season, teams fight tooth and nail to stay up. Or if they in a 2nd tier league like the EFL Championship or the Bundesliga 2, to get into the big time.
The NFC East would be having a battle for the playoffs and the relegation spots lmao
It doesn't actually make tanking obsolete - Norwich City 2019-20 are the perfect example of a team tanking even in a League with relegation.
It looked like they were at it again this season but they seem to have woken up and decided to actually attempt to stay in the Premier League this time round :)
Promotion and relegation is an awful idea. And if you look at leagues which use it outside of EPL it is at best a 2 or 3 team league. Juventus and Bayern won like 10 titles in a row. Spain is real/barca/atletico and even EPL has only 4 or 5 teams that can expect to win title since establishment (outside if 1 leicester season). NFL by comparison has paritu

Pixelating the helmet made me laugh out loud.
Detroit Lions should actually go back further than 2001... to 1957.
Michael Irvin's face 😂😂😂
Things could have gone right for the Browns a whole lot earlier than 2014.
In fact, during their very expansion year Kurt Warner was placed in the Expansion draft, and out of the 37 players they selected, their only quarterback choice was a guy named Scott Milanovich. By 2002 only three of those expansion players were even on the roster.
And then in 2000, the Browns used their sixth round pick for a new backup QB named Spergon Wynn, who wasn't even good at COLLEGE football, let alone the NFL. Among others still available that deep into the draft was the guy who had just led Michigan to a thrilling Bowl victory against Alabama to cap off his college days..... Tom Brady.
This 2020 Browns season really has been a long-awaited breath of fresh air. They should be staying a while.
if this video was sponsored by world of tanks, that would be funny as hell

Its going to be pretty sad to see the dolphins on this list in a couple years after having so many picks and a promising roster.

Yes pun intended
nah Texans fans are insanely happy to see him being made fun of and especially love that he’s gone
Does it count for the browns if they technically never stop rebuilding?
All the Texans did was traded was Deandre Hopkins for Cardinals Running Back and a 2nd. I didn't know that THAT would tank them
Well the Fuccaneers won a Super Bowl.
This list could just be the Lions and Browns since 1970
