The title would be more accurate to say some florida cities ban rv parking. None of them are banning rvs. And not the whole state.

As a tiny home enthusiast.... They park comfortably as RVs nestled in established RV parks. This level of housing isedesperately needed, and cities need to plan around INCLUSION of RVs, not exclusion

Problem is SFL people buy rvs for a way to earn money. I went to a room for rent and they showed me a tv trailer I was supposed to share with another person.

You’re not aware or not telling the whole story. They are banning RV’s because people are renting the rv’s in their yards for people to live in like a spare room or apartment.

It doesn't matter WHAT the reason is. It's government suppressing the rights of people to have affordable housing, and to enjoy their OWN yards. If it's my property, I should be able to do whatever I want with it. Not to mention that IF the infrastructure can't support Human Beings properly, maybe they should FIX the issue, not ban people from trying to survive.
You should look at the rv regulations in Charlotte county fl. They still included (and have since before Hurricane Ian) FEMA temporary housing.
Just starting our RV journey. Since we reside in Colorado, right now we're beach tribe BUT also love the mountains....in the summer!

Till you realize that state income tax is more like a car payment. Look into Tennessee. No income tax, super low property tax, never had lock down or mask mandates etc none of that happened in Tennessee.

We live in Northern California and we got cited for our trailer fairly new Toy Hauler. We had the county come out and talk with us. We ended up building a fence and it almost sits in the same spot but behind our fence now. Hey this is a plus for us now. We are enjoying more privacy!
It's a real shame your not allowed to keep the RV you own in the yard you pay for. The city should not be allowed to tell you you can't keep your property on your property. As for Grand design. They should be ghosted. They build a nice unit with new floor plans that are sitting on a frame that they know is inadequate, and they don't care. It's all about FALSE PROFITS. They know that it is the steel that breaks, not the welds. A KING OF THE ROAD 5th wheel fell apart after 30 years, we demolished it, and the frame was in great shape. Now it is a tiny home. It was engineered properly. So Grand design put out a proper product, and do things right, and stop using thin steel!
also I would move out of those cities, my property my choice to park whatever I want on it. and for government to say you can only one one of each is an over reaching government
That Florida town would HATE my family! My dad has a 2019 Coleman 26ft trailer that remains in an RV park for seasonal use. I guess nobody would know about that one. He also has a 1990 Viking pop up that he travels with and stores on the property. I am currently restoring a 1972 holiday travler trailer, it's on his lot and it currently looks like cousin Eddy is living in it, and my daily driver is a DIY minivan camper! Lol! We like in NY state
Grand Design is in trouble for All there flex frames they are Not built right from the beginning. Nobody knows who to go to with all the breakage of All of these RVs. Brand New ones are Junk. Anything built from later 2018 on up. Do not buy new, if your going to spend hundreds of dollars on a new rig go buy used and do some fix ups. I have a 2008 tt 30' and its in great shape we have solar on it and we are going to sell it because we are older now and hooking and unhooking Is getting hard. We have a 2004 Hurricane four winds one big slide out 30' right size..

Grand Design has run its reputation into a ditch. I guess they forgot what their Moms taught them in high school. That a reputation LOST will never be FORGOTTEN!!! 50 years after graduation you still remember the loose girls and hell raiser boys. Very very true.

Hi, your info on RV in Florida being banned is incorrect. I have family in Hialeah and lived there several years ago. The city is simply disallowing residents to use rv’s as permanent dwellings. You can still have your RV parked at your house.
Please do better research in the future before posting things like this.😞

I am an RV’ER, I lived in Miami for several years, Opelika and Hialeah really have no place to put RVs on the side roads. It’s very condensed. The picture you were showing when you were telling the article really doesn’t show the true nature of the area. If I understand, the City's RV Ban is on Residential property, if not the Home Owner. The Owner can have 1 on their property... Owned by them.
The FL RV Parks are still open & available.
Not much different than many Cities in other states... 1 RV and/or Boat per property by Owner.
Totally misleading. This is about homeless, drug dealers and total abuse of the RV parking rules and laws. I lived in Seattle where it became totally a disaster and mess with decrepit RVs, massive crime and drugs and abuse to the point where is was a disaster for neighborhoods and community. This is what cities in Florida are dealing with. It was not legitimate RV owners, but they will lose some of their parking rights as a result of the abusers and drug dealers etc. The city has little choice. Sad situation. Your video misses the whole issue bigtine.
I've lived in Seattle and Portland, and know exactly what you're speaking of. But basically it comes down to housing and rent being unaffordable for the majority of people these days. Old rv's are NOT the problem, and banning them will not make any difference. It's ridiculous to say someone can't have an rv parked on their OWN property, just because someone is living in it. I now reside in Florida, and see no problem with people living in rv's on a privately owned property. If the rich don't like it, then maybe they should share the wealth so others don't have to suffer!
