Maybe for your better understanding: A Forge World is a World that is completly under control of the Adeptus Mechanicus. A Forge World produces Weapons, Tanks, Ammunition or even Titans. The Imperium cannot afford losing such a world because of the high strategic value it has. Because of this, the Exterminatus isn't a option. Neither is the sending of Heavy Armory because it could do to much damage on the forges. If a Forge World is lost, so is the knowledge how to make the weapons the world was specialised in.

Don't tear off heavy weapons until everything they can see is dead, they have unlimited ammo while still attached and once everything is dead can then be ripped off and used further into the level untill they run out of ammo
Those “metal things in the head” are Service Studs. Single stud records, 10, 50 or 100 years of service depending on its design and the Chapter traditions.
Titus' internal monologue: I swear to the God emperor that if Leandros says "The Codex Astartes does not support this action" one more time, I'll shove said book up his non functional phallus sideways, thirty pages at a time.
Fun fact. Even if strategic command orders for Space Marines to deploy to a warzone, they can actually refuse the order. This is because the marine chapters were granted autonomy from the rest of the Imperium's military, and technically answer only to the Emperor. Most don't refuse, at least not without a good reason (low strength, currently engaged, too far away to help in time, that sort of thing). This explains why the Ultramarines only sent a handful of troops in, the rest of their chapter was probably already engaged, and that was all they could spare. Also, the little metal 'bullets' embedded in a marine's forehead are known as 'Service Studs'. Their meaning varies from chapter to chapter, but typically a silver stud is usually represent 10 or 50 years of service, while a gold usually represents 100 years. Some chapters will also use an eagle-shaped or skull-stamped stud for other denominations, or for particular commendations, like service in command positions.
The "metal things" on his forehead are honor-bolts. They got the same meaning like high military decorations. Just imagine you getting revarded with the Victoria Cross and received it visible for everyone as an piercing in your forehead. It's an Astartes thing. (Sorry for the probably wrong translation and greatings from Germany from an ex-Engineer- Master-Seargent and huge 40k fan. Keep up with the lessons of the lore! ) P.S. I enjoyed this gem back in 2011. The multiplayer was lit
A tip on killing the "Big guy": Keep mashing the melee attack button along with the stun button. That will stun him much faster than grenades or bolter. Then you can execute him for HUGE health boost.
Something that might help in future, you always have your boltpistol as a sidearm and thankfully it has unlimited ammunition. So if you need it, you can switch to it at any time. Edit, never mind~ XD
This brings back so many memories. I used to be a pretty good at multi-player using a jump pack, plasma pistol,, and power sword with a perk to make the sword faster. Then spending all night on multi-player campaign. What a great game.
A lot of people assume Sidonus is being "sexist" when he says "You are in command?" to Mira. He's not, Space Marines don't give a fuck about gender, it's because she's just a lieutenant (i.e. a low ranked officer) that he's surprised, not because she's a woman.
You missed the guardsmen on on his death bed. The one after the one who can't feel my legs. "I got to see a space marine before I died" Some guardsmen go their entire lives without ever seeing a space marine.
Love that you're playing this. Space Marine is arguably the greatest Warhammer game ever made (debate between DoW and SM is fierce). Such a great game, would love there to be more Space Marine style Warhammer games.
I think Andos was surprised that the senior commanding officer in charge or at least still operating is a Lutinet not you know a Cornel, or a general of some kind. Also if i'm not wrong it's actually kind of uncommon for mixed sexed regiments to exist. Its typically full on one or another, so that might be another reason.
Uncommon, but not unheard of. Some worlds form up mixed regiments as standard, while the Administratum occasionally puts two (or more) different sexed regiments together to consolidate after battle losses.
it was because she was just a lieutenant, she even says in response "I'm all that's left, my lord, unless my commanders rise from the grave." it's got nothing to do with her being a woman like original human assumed
Taken the deep dive like Titus did onto the Ork junk ship, this will be excellent. I love how there's an explosion after you follow up a three strike combo with stun, this game is immensely satisfying
Also.. smol tip.. when you 'stun' a enemy.. the "killing blow" you do changes depending on what 'side' of the stunned enemy your standing... Its fun to experiment with standing to their side or behind them.
The studs in a marine's head represent years of service. Different chapters denote it a bit differently but generally if you see gold service studs, that marine has been in service for well over a century. Silver usually means decades.
Heads are called servo skulls, if you read this,it's always worth exploring a but as you can get more lore entries from imperial guardsmen if you find more around the map.
This game is way smoother with mouse and keyboard, Remember about your Bolt Pistol with unlimited ammo! Use melee to conserve ammo on weaker enemies. Grenades are best against groups of medium difficulty level enemies, like the shooting boys or the medium sized melee boyz !
29:16 he was referring to the fact she's only a lieutenant but in-charge of the entire imperial guard forces on the planet. It's not often all of the commanders are dead before the troops
I got this game free from Humble Bundle a few years back. One day I was stuck for something to play and booted it up. Half way through I had to look up what these Ultramarines were about, and then I found the Uriel Ventris novels. Now I'm collecting an Ultramarines army for the tabletop.
The metal studs in their head is for the amount of years served. Depends on the chapter but usually gold is 100 years, silver can be 10 or 50. For ultramarines I think it's 50.
Unrelated, I was late to the last video. I think you would enjoy watching a history channel called The Armchair Historian, they mostly focus on war history, but they have videos like living in East Germany during the Cold War. I hope anybody who reads this has a great day!
TheRussianBadger has a video on this game I highly recommend it, it's bloody hilarious (he does spoil some story though so if you wanna react maybe do that after finishing this game) worth your time for the comedy alone in my opinion
At around 20:30 you were referring to the "bullets in the head". Those are called Service Studs. Each one denotes one century of service as a Space Marine.
For Warhammer Fantasy Book of Choyer is a really good lore channel. If you want a Fantasy game, the Total War series is the way to go. Also, really stoked to see you play this 40k game, and don't worry it's not just against Orks.
A few tips: try tap firing, your initial burst is mighty accurate. Also, headshots are a thing, you'll do a lot more damage. Spam melee. You'll get improvements for the bolters so I advise keeping them close.
To answer your question , there is a texture pack that lets you play as a blood angel. I LOVE this game, played it probably 5 or 6 times over the years.
Dude, honestly, the only thing this channel lacks is our boy becoming like Skallagrim but for modern warfare stuff (Like ranting on how it would be for real combat to fight in the astartes uniforms, the use of star wars blasters having no recoil, how post-apocalyptic scenarios like Fallout would be in a realistic way for combat, etc) :3
executions of enemies are pretty common in warhammer 40k. if you play dawn of war series, every non vehicle unit can execute an enemy soldier even in the middle of the brawl, its really cool.
Just to clarify the codex astartes is basically a MASSIVE cheat code, which deals with, unit organization, tactical deployment, tactical Doctrines, how to do something whilst having hundreds of different methods in order to achieve the same goal, imagine a library filled with all of humanities military research and strategic methods ie the Zulu horns of the buffalo where shock troops do a two pronged assault on the enemy whilst he bulk of your army is in the center, which will ram into your opponents whilst the horns encircle your opponents, or using artillery to pound the enemy whilst skirmishers cap any officers or leading figures causing panic and disarray amongst the enemy troops and so on and since space marines mental capacity would put all of our worlds geniuses to shame if even combined, where their memories span not in years but in centuries and is akin to having a Wikipedia in your head, as for its lore the codex astartes was written by the primarch rebutte guiliman after the Horus Heresy in order to standardize and as not a piece of holy scripture but as a guid in how to deal with any opponent ie insurgents or giant robots and uses sound logic as it’s main principles, and because it was written by a primarch the codex astartes is considered as a bible written by Jesus himself and is very precious to most chapters although there are some splinter forces namely the black Templar’s who despite breaks the one thousand marine limit in order to prevent a second heresy the black Templar’s are hyper religious and will put even Isis to shame when it comes to religious fervor and are thusly exempted from the one thousand limit and can field up to six thousand active marines. As for this case the reason why jumping into enemy territory is because you and your team will be unsupported and can be destroyed before hitting the planet
'Ultramarines going down. I wonder, can I choose to be a Space Wolf?' Hmm... As for the ammo problem... Your first weapon has infinite ammo, the pistol still exists when you switched out the knife for chainsword, and the pistol will always be there unless you switch it out for a plasma pistol (which also had infinite) or the melee weapon for a hammer (which removes the pistol)
I'm not sure if you would be interested, but Bricky does have a podcast with his friend DK who knows nothing about warhammer and they go a wee bit more indepth it's called adeptus rediculus, and it is sort of a cliff notes verson of lore topics, it starts with the death korps of kreig backround and is quite funny! big longer style episodes though... you should check it out!

Don't tear off heavy weapons until everything they can see is dead, they have unlimited ammo while still attached and once everything is dead can then be ripped off and used further into the level untill they run out of ammo
Even after all these years, this game's intro still gets me so pumped up every time I see it!
Damn, this game is one of my top ten, my uncle used to play it too much
Funny thing is, if I understand correctly, using the Jump packs for insertion is in the codex astartes.
But to do so directly into enemy fire is I'll advised.
The metal studs in the head are Service studs... Gold Stud = 100 years, Silver stud = 50 years, Bronze stud = 10 years.
You NEED to keep playing this dude, so much cool weapons & locations come into the game the further on you go.... and you fight more than just Orks.
Keep up with the lessons of the lore! )
P.S. I enjoyed this gem back in 2011. The multiplayer was lit
They're service studs, denoting time served, not any specific award.
A tip on killing the "Big guy": Keep mashing the melee attack button along with the stun button.
That will stun him much faster than grenades or bolter.
Then you can execute him for HUGE health boost.
You called the ultramarines smurfs, you're a true fan now. Love this game it's so good
Something that might help in future, you always have your boltpistol as a sidearm and thankfully it has unlimited ammunition. So if you need it, you can switch to it at any time.
Edit, never mind~ XD
You see now how an entire Legion of space marines can turn the tide of a war
Got to love that reaction when he saw a squig for the first time.
This brings back so many memories. I used to be a pretty good at multi-player using a jump pack, plasma pistol,, and power sword with a perk to make the sword faster. Then spending all night on multi-player campaign. What a great game.
I was wondering when you would do a video about this. The Emperor has answered my prayers!
100% need more, learning about Warhammer with you has been awesome and you really seem to enjoy it allot which makes it even better
"Yeas! Let that PURITY and HATRED flooooow through your veins"
Can we please get yourself and your D&D friends to play some vermintide would be a great jump into the Fantasy warhammer universe.
Agreed, and Vermintide 2 is still lots of fun!
Yes-yes, Council of Thirteen likes-approves!
Not just that but Warhammer 40k strategy games
This game was my intro to 40K when I was training for Afghan. I'm so glad to see a battle-brother have fun with it. Semper Fi
You mentioned about playing as other Astartes Chapters. I believe you can get mods on PC that will allow you to play as other chapters.
I love the dynamic of the imperial guard and them looking up to the space marines. It is very much like Halo where the marines look up to the spartans
here are a couple of tips for conserving ammo:
1. burst firing
2. aiming at target
3. use you pistol when low since it has infinite ammo
The studs in a marine's head represent years of service. Different chapters denote it a bit differently but generally if you see gold service studs, that marine has been in service for well over a century. Silver usually means decades.
"I'm all about this Chainsword" Oh just wait until you find the Thunder Hammer.
Heads are called servo skulls, if you read this,it's always worth exploring a but as you can get more lore entries from imperial guardsmen if you find more around the map.
I enjoyed this game however “Dawn of War” the pc game was what made me fall in love with 40k.
This game is way smoother with mouse and keyboard, Remember about your Bolt Pistol with unlimited ammo! Use melee to conserve ammo on weaker enemies. Grenades are best against groups of medium difficulty level enemies, like the shooting boys or the medium sized melee boyz !
Captain Titus is played by the amazing Mark strong as well!! Which just makes the character so much more enjoyable!!
29:16 he was referring to the fact she's only a lieutenant but in-charge of the entire imperial guard forces on the planet. It's not often all of the commanders are dead before the troops
So glad to see you play through this, massive part of my gaming childhood, big thing along with Dawn of War to get me into warhammer later on
about the 20:00 mark, the head studs are a mark of veterancy. one stud per century's service!
You should try Battlefleet Gothic Armada next.
Up, thats one is great 👍🏻
I got this game free from Humble Bundle a few years back.
This makes watching Helsreach all the better now that you have 'firsthand' experience fighting orks! ;)
I legit woke up this morning and thought of advising this game to you, mad how the world works
Unrelated, I was late to the last video. I think you would enjoy watching a history channel called The Armchair Historian, they mostly focus on war history, but they have videos like living in East Germany during the Cold War. I hope anybody who reads this has a great day!
Brings back so many fond memories
I remember getting the collectors edition PC of this back in the day, one of my favorites.
This introduced me to the never ending war known as warhammer 40k
You're going to love Leandros' growth throughout the game, especially at the end.
There are mods that either give you a helmet, change your armour's colour, or both. I really recommend downloading one
For Warhammer Fantasy Book of Choyer is a really good lore channel. If you want a Fantasy game, the Total War series is the way to go.
Also, really stoked to see you play this 40k game, and don't worry it's not just against Orks.
You can rehear the audio love in the start menu, they are louder there
warhammer fantasy is a great series to get into it has a lot of great characters for future don't forget the pistol.
Relic made the homeworld games. 3d spaceship real time strategy. but more recently, they make warhammer games :D
Dude, honestly, the only thing this channel lacks is our boy becoming like Skallagrim but for modern warfare stuff (Like ranting on how it would be for real combat to fight in the astartes uniforms, the use of star wars blasters having no recoil, how post-apocalyptic scenarios like Fallout would be in a realistic way for combat, etc) :3
nothing better than seeing someone maniacally laughing at the sight of orks getting shredded by a heavy bolter
executions of enemies are pretty common in warhammer 40k. if you play dawn of war series, every non vehicle unit can execute an enemy soldier even in the middle of the brawl, its really cool.
This game does a really good job of making you feel like a badass. One of the best 40k video games out there
I'm not sure if you would be interested, but Bricky does have a podcast with his friend DK who knows nothing about warhammer and they go a wee bit more indepth it's called adeptus rediculus, and it is sort of a cliff notes verson of lore topics, it starts with the death korps of kreig backround and is quite funny! big longer style episodes though... you should check it out!
Hey man, you should listen to adept adeptus ridiculous if you've got spare time to learn about 40k. Its presented by bricky and is perfect for beginners. Fucking hilarious as well 😂
Well if you want some even funnier shit if the emperor had text to speech device by bruva alfabusa
@@flycraps2456 not super beginner friendly tho. The references are hilarious if you understand them. And they don't explain them.
That smile while you were playing made my day. 😁
Was wondering how long it was going to take you to play this
Every time you complained about no ammo I was like “SWITCH TO YOUR PISTOL DAMNIT!! IT HAS INFINITE AMMO!!!”
You know, I’ve been waiting for Doom Eternal since you beat Doom (2016), but Warhammer 40K Space Marine is also awesome. I’ve played it as a teen and I loved every second of it
