Thank you for doing a stripped down, beginners game. Being primarily a lore fan (I admit to having a small terribly crafted primaris space wolves force though) often times I’m overwhelmed by BR videos. But in this vid I think I’ve actually grasped more of the tabletop than any other “how to play” video I’ve seen. Thanks for this.

My daughter loves to paint and while she's still a little young for the actual game, I gave her a few spare termaguants that I had and she instantly fell in love with them. Her uncle saw this and got her a Hive Tyrant for Christmas and after we built the winged version, she spend hours flying it around the house making munching noises.... XD Not sure if she has the patience for a Batrep yet, but I'll bookmark this one for the future to be sure. :D

33:37 I thought the Hive Tyrant was on the other side of that objective at the end of Ultramarine turn 2? That was the whole point of moving the Suppressors there; to hold the objective but not allow a heroic intervention. Casual game, so doesn't really matter, but it would be points the Tyranids don't score that turn.

Okay, you got me with the Rahul bait, I'm subscribing. If this channel is good enough for Hollywood's Bad Boy it's good enough for me. I haven't played since 3rd edition so this all now seems incredibly foreign to me, especially the idea of not having to kill every single unit. As a former Khorne player it's just.. beyond my comprehension. But it's interesting to see how things have changed and it's always heartwarming when new people get introduced to the lust for war and death and skulls that lives in all our hearts. Really, i think not putting the suppressor shots into the tyrant 7s v 7t and using that lieutenant for wound rerolls to potentially dodge the charge (slower via damage chart) and then overwatch to keep the chance up is the big missed move. The other termies would take back the vacated objective anyway

honestly I feel like this combat patrol game is a really rough match up. No real answers to that Hive Tyrant. And Whilst I do rate infiltrators and Eliminators, I think the rest of the box is really lack luster, mean while the Tyranid Combat Patrol is imo one of the best. Idk about competitively but as a casual player I think all of the Tyranid box is actually really quite good barring the Rippers, and they are like 45 points and have some use as little objective grabbers.
I've been playing for 6 or 7 years as Marines and even against a brand new beginner I would feel pretty intimidated by this match up

I loved this series and i'm looking forward for more begginers videos, but there is actual some gameplay errors that hurts. A winged hive tyrant does not have both weapon, as the wings replace one. And an heroic intervention is to "defend" a charged unit, at the moment of the charge. Also smite is only on a visible target but that's not too important i suppose.

Really enjoyed this series, this looks like a great simple way to get into the game, combat patrol lists and nice simple rules. I used to play as a kid in the early 2000’s but haven’t played since. This sort of game appeals to me rather than the really complex games with loads of strats and rules.

Liking the Tyranid paint job as a nod to 2nd Ed's red flesh and bone carapace! Not enough brilliant blue bits though 😂

Good first entry lesson! Sometimes your opponent won't show up with the exact minis on their list. Remember we're playing with toy soldiers. Don't take it too serious. Maybe don't let a Gun Drone replace a Stormsurge or something similar, but saying "Oh this tank is actually this other tank, I just built it wrong because the instructions were confusing," is fine. Most players have assembled a model then realized they fudged it about 4 glue steps back.

Ugh poor Rahul 😭I had a game with my Salamanders like this a couple days ago. Even my opponent (Votann) felt bad! Firt two turns i rolled nothing higher than a 2 on any of my dice! Was able to start making a comeback after that but it was over by then.

As someone who has never played a game of 40k, this was incredibly insightful. It's cool seeing the amount of tactical options that's easy to miss when you're not a veteran.

As a new 40k player (as of last month!) this series has been amazing, I've got so many great tips that I would never have picked up from just reading the core rules and the codex. I'd love to see Rahul and Rebecca return with those box sets painted and ready to explore more faction rules, stratagems and missions.

This was amazing, I've always been interested in 40k(I'm a man of russ) but always thought it was very complicated and difficult to learn. Being able to watch a step by step, round by round breakdown was fantastic. Keep this series up and going.

I'm really looking into playing 40k. I've seen a couple videos and I think I want to start an ork army. To be honestly 40k doesn't seem super complicated as long as you have your rulebook

I learned this from chaos marine steve. If your rolls are bad just be a csm player. Chaos gods improves your rolls. Rahul should do that.

Really enjoying the slower beginners battle pacing and info. I always get tripped up remembering exactly how to roll during the shooting phase after only playing two matches with a borrowed 1000Sons army.

I've never played before. Though I have read several books. I've wanted to. But from what I saw here, it seems like the person going first has a huge advantage. They get first crack at attacks and get to disrupt the objectives owned by the opponent first. I'm sure there's something I'm missing but that's just my first impression.
