And it's all literally *Just Barely* keeping humanity from extinction.
more like hundreds of thousands, noone knows for sure because even if they have a record of all the chapters, some of the chapters keep a secret exactly how many marines they have, but on paper there should be tops a 1000 marines for each. However, its still just a drop in the ocean compared to the amount of worlds they have to protect.
The BT alone are speculated to have 6000 Marines and for Astartes as a whole 1,000,000 strong give or take 5,000 extra for Non Codex compliant chapters.
Bobby G will guide our way, until the day the Big E returns to us! THE EMPEROR PROTECTS.

Bold of you to leave out the noble sacrifices of the Astra Militarum, The Imperial Guard!!
It never grows old to see new people to 40k reacting to how the Imperium deals with possession.
They dealt with him so quickly !
Yeah, in lore psykers are scary so no one really hesitates to kill them if there is even the slightest hint of them not behaving as usual. Most psykers in the Imperium have someone following them for the single purpose of putting a buttlet in their head if they deviate from doctorine.
Seeing as the smallest damage he could do is summon a demon into the room. And one of the worse things is pull the whole ship into hell itself. Or have whatever possessed him transferred to one of the space marines and then do the things I mentioned.

@@primary2630 I think he meant Earth how it is right now. The Heresy had Space marine vs Space Marines
thats a psyker who was basically listening in on the converstation between the 2 entities. When he spoke to the captain or yelled to him to get those men out of there he lost his train of thought and wsa taken over. Psykers have 2 guards with them or Astartes for when they are overcome similar to this cause they can rip the very fabric of space and let out the horrors of chaos. So they put them down without hesitation.

Also, getting possessed by entities of the Warp turns you into a "Door" for even more Warp Entities to step through to the material world from. You will quickly come to understand that in the universe of Warhammer 40k, if you were possessed against your will like this Inquisitor was, you WANT to be put down this quickly, because the alternative is literally becoming a plaything for the denizens of literal Hell for basically all of eternity.
Good thing to keep in mind is that EVERY Psyker draws power from what is essentially hell.

*Possession in Warhammer is not something to take lightly*
@Co-Bruh and not just for the poor soul who has unfortunately found such a fate forced upon him
Then again potentially even worse than the psyker becoming a door, is the energies possessing them can manipulate their subconscious turning them into a willing worker of chaos power, when that happens a vessel with far more oomph than a door, sometimes iirc even up to being able to rip apart an entire solar system with their mind, while summoning billions strong hordes of demons... And such a transformation can happen rather quickly if their physical body can survive a trip into the warp where time doesn't always flow the same...

One of the best reactions of this I've seen. Great fun, thanks.
Brickys Every Single Warhammer 40k Faction Explained is a great start IMO. Feels more like it's one of your friends explaining it to you and he touches on a good portion of stuff. You can break the factions down into a few per video as well. This should help engage the community and allow for more direct conversation. ;)
12:15 for reaction to standard procedure on dealing with daemonic possession.
I cant tell you how many reactions of this video i have watched today, love it, never gets old. Youre funny af bro keep making content
Bro this is my favorite reaction to Astartes so far. I've gone back just to rewatch you react to certain scenes. Keep up the good work.
Thanks man that means alot !
Ha, we got another one lads!, but in all seriousness, if you want to know more, bricky's video is a good place to start
Small thing hard to notice 14:45, rest of his team appears on different columns. They are super tiny, giving scene some scale.
wtf i’ve been studying the video for hours and got into 40k lore like yesterday, only noticed that by this comment
cool addition to that story, wonder what the retributors must be doing
@@vsiift9373 - to be fair, those pillars are something like 500 feet tall and two hundred feet across, so an 8' SM is going to be tiny by comparison. It's just the briefest of flickers where you see the portals open and drop them in at the end. But yeah, it took me... hell, probably ten times watching the original vid to catch that, so don't feel bad
Dude, the amount of stuff you got right on a first guess is truly incredible
"know that they are my space marines, and they shall know NO FEAR" The emporer
Welcome to 40k 😂
Astartes is a great introduction, shows you exactly how Astartes would act.
If your interested in the lore (buckle up for the ride!) It's a massive and rich background which is still being built upon and released constantly.
I would point you towards Blood Angel's (but that's the chapter I play, so totally biased) series.
The novels are the best way to get into the lore, either start with the horus heresy novels which is essentially the history novels or pick a series that sounds like something you like and go from there.
Alternatively, check out some of the lore channels on YT, Baldermort, wolf lord Rho and 40k Theories to name but a few.
Always good to see new people get into the fandom.
Man, all the Discord noises in the background kept making me have to check my window for new messages.
A lot of lore, time span of 10,000 years +. A million systems, a million million planets. Billions of people, thousands of races, armies, ships, gods.
Absolutely one of my favorite reactions on „Astartes“! Keep it up m8!
"Are they even human?"
Yes... but heavily modified. If you know Halo, think of Spartans... and then know that Spartans are basically Space Marines-lite. Biological and cybernetic modification, brainwashing, and training are all cranked up to 11, and so is their equipment on the battlefield. In the actual game, they're toned down for various reasons, but this series is a pretty accurate depiction of how insanely powerful they are in the lore.
"Where's the rest of the team at?"
So, if you rewatch the moment he warps in, you can see that everything flashes for a second just as he appears on-screen. If you look very closely in the background of the wide shot, you can see a few more of those flashes of white light as the rest of the squad is warped in...
As for *where* they went... even diehard fans couldn't tell you that, since the universe of 40k is filled with many strange and poorly-understood things, and the creatures and locations in the series were actually made up by the creator... it's probably another planet, but no one knows where it is (or if it's even in the Milky Way galaxy, or the "normal" universe at large - since 40k has a dimension called the Warp basically made up of freaky psychic shit).
EDIT: Also, it's interesting how much attention to detail was put in (like the reason why the blood looks weird when he coughs it up is because of one of the Astartes' genetic modifications) as well as how much the context of certain moments changes if you're a fan (like, the moment the camera pans down and you see the guy in the robe with the big I symbol? 40k fans immediately go "oh shit, they're with the Inquisition" and suddenly realize these guys are here for more than just putting down a bunch of rebels, because the Inquisition doesn't usually play with shit that small-scale).
more like 200000000000JK morel iek 20 though
speaking of detail, that plasma pistol. both with multi-las array thing and the failed overcharge when the black ball o'doom sucked in the Sergeant.
yeah they drop that inquisition agent with extreme prejudice cause a possessed psyker can be a major problem even for these guys *edit also if you look closely when the astartes is on the pillar at the end you can see the rest of his squad appear on the other pillars
Well things just got a lot more interesting lol thank you for pointing that out for me ! So much lore !!
Just found this. Subscribed. Great honest reaction. And welcome to the 40K lore.
your reaction and narration is nothing short of amazing too!
They're not not talking. They are communicating in helmet, you just cant hear from the viewers perspective.
Hey man loved your reaction, earned a sub, get into brickies stuff and if you like games Dawn of War or Space Marine probably captured the setting best.
Well thank you for coming with me on this journey ! And thanks for the recommendations :)
... Fire Warrior... *shudders*
It makes me really happy that you acknowledge that they are blessing their weapons in the beginning
I gotta say, I've watched a ton of people reacting to this, and your reaction has been the BEST of all of them, it was so awesome watching you enjoying this and losing your mind with how awesome it was. You gotten all your questions answered since then, I hope? I don't wanna slam you with a ton of 40K knowledge you've already gotten smacked with.
Also, subscribed, you definitely earned it.
Hey if you want to react to another wh40k animation check out: The Death Korps of Krieg
They strait up Obliterated that Tech priest but he was already gone at that point.
Not a tech priest, that was an Inquisitor psyker.
Hesitation would have likely meant death for those 2 Marine's and potentially the rest of the ship. But yeah, he was already gone by that point.
@@UrzaWeatherlight well, maybe he was lucky and they killed him quickly enough to save his soul.
Good luck with the Lore! I’ve been following Warhammer 40k for about five years and I still am considered a noob.
Great video! I just saw it for the first time about 2 weeks ago. I agree. So impressive
Honestly when it comes to learning the lore my opinion step one I would say would be learning the basics i.e. the bricky videos or others about the setting then step two is to pick a faction you like and then start learning everything about it and then once you’re done with that start branching out (example if you’d like the space Marines best you start learning about the space Marines their histories and chapters and then from there start branching into the other organizations in the imperium of man then maby you can branch in the chaos and xenos and however far you want to go. I personally don’t think anyone knows everything about 40 K & you really don’t need to,it’s just you pick a spot that you really like and start learning from there. like I could tell you almost anything about chaos since it’s my favorite faction and most things about the imperial but when it comes to others I’m spotty at best lol
Yeah these lore vids are giving me life so much detail and depth
Glad to see you getting into 40k! Arch has a commentary video on astartes here ruclips.net/video/vwW9qlqjfo4/видео.html which goes into what he thinks is going on in the video. Also I recommend Leutin, Oculus imperia, and every faction of Warhammer 40k explained. Welcome to the darkness of the far future, where there is only war.
Yup Luetin is giving me alot of content atm thank you for the recomendations !! ENDLESS WAR !!!!
@@BROTHA_BLACK I would recommend a primer in order
1. The imperium of man
2. The God Emperor of Mankind
3. The creation of space marines
4. The primarchs
5. The Inquisition
6. The Mechanicum of Mars
These are the foundation of 40k. Next would be factions of xenos, and the Horus Heresy.
@@BROTHA_BLACK wouldn’t bother with Arch. He’s a bit of a racist twat.

I'm always so thrilled seeing people who aren't into warhammer 40k or are new to it experience 40k content! It's labrythian, but super interesting and rewarding. There's tons of people making homebrew stuff for it everywhere
Love watching peoples reaction to Astartes, it’s genuinely so well made, and so fuckin badass
You gotta go on Do not Disturb for discord we can hear the message sounds
React to Bricky's every Warhammer 40k faction explained to understand the lore and watch Warhammer 40k animations also
i started watching brickys vids the night of this upload lol
I don't normally go for reaction videos but man... it was fun watching yours.
One of my favourite reaction videos! Also thanks to everyone leaving insight about the storyline, I thought I somewhat understood it (I don't actively play myself) but I get it so much more now!
