5:38 - When the Sergeant's lens is cracked you see the multiple components of his Auspex that gives him that full view. Also there's no audible dialog because they are using in helmet comms in suits sealed against space.

    9:58 - A: Who is there?
    B: I have failed.
    A: We have ALL failed.
B: The Astartes deny our touch.
A: You must return. Break your seal/shield (?)
    B: ...We'll never survive.
    A: You must... TAKE THEM.
    SP: RECALL THEM IMMEDIATELY!

11:31 - Plasma pistols are finicky things, and can accidentally overload like this. However the Sergeant intentionally chose to overload to try to damage the shell and get free, sacrificing his hand.

If you want to learn more about 40k, I recommend you check out Bricky’s Every faction in the Warhammer 40k two parts series wheres he explains about 20 factions that he explains in sort of nutshell with little bit of lore and tabletop stuff as 40k was originally known as a tabletop game series, released back in late 80’s before it was expanded into various media platforms like RUclips, novels, video games and other stuff. I think you’ll find that enjoyable to watch

Hey I'm sorry for the late response. I am looking into the Bricky's videos you recommended. I just got caught up with school, work, Halo, RDR2, editing, etc. But again, I appreciate your recommendations and keep an eye out for the videos! 👍

@@WarriorHumble24 While it's more humorous, Bricky's vids, especially his earlier stuff is full of mistakes & inaccuracies.
For the absolute best 40k Lore channels, you can't go wrong with Luetin and/or Baldermort
And when anyone tries to claim that 40k is just hyper violent bolter porn for 12-16yr old boys? Watch 'The Last Church' by Kill Team Hungary! ;-)
It's another highly acclaimed fan film, based on the novel of the same name, and it really offers some very deep insights into the beliefs & mindset of the Emperor of Mankind

3:34 - The ceramite Power Armor of the Astartes renders the Space Marines functionally running tanks. So whatever you'd field to take out a tank is pretty much your best bet, if you can pull it off (unlike the grunt with the sapper's shaped charge.)

  • @thetalantonx

4:04 - If you're having issues with low quality it's likely the compilation video that's the problem as the originals were immaculate. However Syama was approached by GW and given a deal he couldn't refuse and instead of a cease and desist, he ended up under the Warhammer+ banner.

@@WarriorHumble24 It should also be known that possession in Warhammer is a very serious thing. Not some girl with a spinning head puking up green stuff. Demons from the warp can corrupt humans (making them vile followers) but Psykers are gifted individuals that shine out like a beacon to demons. A possession left unchecked will become harder and harder to kill. Some fully possessed individuals can level an entire ship and in some rare cases; unprepared planets and systems. That's why the two white astartes went scorched earth on the psyker. In the 40k Universe, everything is overpowered and wants to kill you. It's a miserable universe but fascinating and very lore rich. Enjoy going down the rabbit hole.

And also his short lack in concentration in monitoring the warp to warn the captain is likely what sealed his fate to be possessed by it to begin with. Long live the Emperor's chosen.

Astartes is a one man labor of love utilizing a homebrew chapter the Retributors, along with the unusual threats seen in the series. Many of the thematic elements and aesthetics are straight up pure Warhammer 40K (like saying a prayer over a bolter, a Sanctioned Psyker of the Inquisition using a cogitator as a buffer between himself and his subject, and so on) while many are totally new creations that have had the fanbase puzzling since this first came out.

Hello, you should really watch fallout sunburst by SODAZ, has kinda the same vibe from astartes

  • @thetalantonx

So another great fanfilm that got absorbed by GW was The Exodite (worth watching on WH+), but the team behind The Exodite started something new and "legally distinct from Warhammer" - Project Morningstar.
Let me suggest: Morningstar: The Hunt - Part One
Sodaz is another fan creator who has some great animations that have been reuploaded, a little lower budget-looking that this, but do a great job of giving an insight into the world.
For longer reactions, consider checking out Helsreach and The Last Church.

Space Marines are the opposite of what Storm Troopers are in Star Wars. Most humans in Warhammer will probably never see an Astartes in their lifetime. If you are an average citizen and a Legion of Space Marines show up on your planet you immediately get on the next ship out of there because S is going down and you don’t want to be around.

Warhammer 40K is quite the rabbit hole in terms of content and lore (it's a fiction that has been developing for over 40 years). It's a popular source for reactions, so knock yourself out but be prepared to be swallowed by it.

They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines such that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear.
