I find you spot on with your assessment. the biggest problem is that disney has no interest in storytelling, each movie and show is just a woke cult manefesto of their beliefs and philosophy, such as it is. the complete lack of logic is because their beliefs and philosophies are that vapid and pointless based mostly on victimhood and hatred.

That's certainly true for anything that Kathleen Kennedy touches, but it's not sustainable. Lucasfilm will be forced to shutter and rebuild if they keep producing C grade junk.

@@DespotofAntrim My approach to Reva’s character would’ve been different.
She would been this cunning, manipulative Inquisitor who tricks people into trusting her before stabbing them in the back like a scorpion. She would be very persuasive in language and mind games. Her character would fight similar to Palpatine, she would want revenge on Kenobi not because it had anything to do with Anakin but more because she had a close bond with Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi as a young ling during Pre Revenge Of The Sith, Prequel Era. She would’ve been a new young ling taken in The Jedi Order by Obi Wan Kenobi , they would bond over the years of her young age and as a result she would’ve formed an unconscious father daughter based attachment to him. During her time as a Youngling. She would often have nightmares about the temple with Jedi being slaughtered, corpses everywhere. Obi Wan would constantly tell her the same thing he told Anakin when he had bad dreams, “Dreams Pass In Time…” but that wasn’t enough for her.
She began to have another bad dream that Obi Wan would die on his next mission assigned by The Jedi Council to capture General Grevious, The Jedi Hunter. Shot down by a canon while on pursuit she described to Obi Wan. He told her he would return after his mission and assure that not just are things fine but the war is almost over and all her nightmares can finally end. This was before he would go to finally say goodbye to Anakin and head to Utapau. She was mad that he didn’t really listen to her but believes he will come back to see her after his mission after all he always came back to see her after his missions.
After that she experiences hell, Order 66 happens, she flees for her life with any surviving younglings during Anakin & The 501st slaughter. She ends up getting lost from the other younglings during the chaos and is once again a lone. She hides away in the temple and falls asleep in terror. When she wakes up she heres no killing. That’s when Palpatine appears behind her alone, she expects she’ll die but he doesn’t kill her. He takes her and puts her into his Inquisitor program where she meets the other inquisitors and Darth Vader.
All the trauma and torture they put her through drives her mad as they teach her the ruthless ways of The Darkside traumatizing her even more and warping her mind. Her fear was being alone and having no one that cared about her so she spent years of her life believing Obi Wan Kenobi was dead by The Imperial reports, during the purge she foresaw in her dreams that Obi Wan kept telling her not to think about.
She was traumatized by the information of his death and mad that he never really listen to her describe her dream to him as it might’ve saved his life. One day at sixteen she’s sent to hunt down her first Jedi survivor, she finds The Jedi easily but midway in her encounter with The Jedi comes across a hologram message The Jedi held onto from Obi Wan Kenobi warning all remaining Jedi not to come back to the temple, and wait because a new hope will emerge. She looses it. Obi Wan lied to her about returning to save her, and left her to die. Her mind then warps those thoughts with memories of being taught not to have attachments by The Jedi and realizes Obi Wan prioritized his mission as a Jedi over his promise to come back and rescue her. Out of rage she murders The Jedi.
She starts to believe Obi Wan’s message to warn Jedi from heading to the temple meant that he was still life out there somewhere and somehow despite the evidence. She knew about Darth Vader’s endless search for Kenobi since he told all of the Inquisitors to leave any sign of Kenobi’s possible survival to him.
She decided she now has a mission of her own. Find and capture Kenobi before Vader can.
In her plan once she captures Obi Wan he will answer for lie he fed her before letting her go through all that suffering then she would gladly hand him over to Vader and The Empire.
In my version she would be similar to Anakin in the sense that she didn’t like the no attachment rule and she hated the idea that she would have to become one with the force when she’s dead and there is no promise of revival. Life meant a lot to her. Despite not knowing her past that well like most Jedi she wouldn’t want to embrace the teachings of having to let go, the very thought of Kenobi’s death after the purge drove her to the Darkside when she first became an inquisitor so she’s a very emotional character.
But at a young age her fear of loss would turn into hatred for those who leave her behind, when she finds out Kenobi is alive she’s excited only to realize that he never came back for her like he said he would and that he like every other Jedi has taught her not be attached to anyone meaning that she feels he purposefully left her behind because she didn’t matter to him as much as whatever mission he had to do. During her time as a Youngling she felt like The Order has neglected her because they weren’t as close to her as she was to them often seeing them as close family and beyond the practice of student and teacher. This would show that she was never interested in even being a Jedi, she just wanted a family. Her family gave her away to The Jedi and now from her point of view The Jedi aren’t the perfect family she wanted them to be.
She feels like The Jedi & Kenobi owed her a better life because they took her in and all she has now is trauma and hatred due to being taken in.
She’ll try to hunt down and catch Kenobi but her plans fail at every turn when Obi Wan Kenobi constantly outsmarts her and stops her plans no matter how complicated they get with not even The Empire receiving any proof of Kenobi’s whereabouts and believing she’s gone mad, she ends up trying to compete with Vader on the hunt for the possible survival of Kenobi as she knows he’s alive but with no evidence and her looking more crazy everyone including Vader starts to doubt her which officially makes her a rogue force user criminal who’s now being hunted down by Darth Vader & The Other Inquisitors for her failure to follow any order at all based on her fixation with Kenobi and her competing with Vader that even The Empire finds confusing. Palpatine also begins to deem her a problem so he also decides she has to die.
Reva ends up disappearing into the outer rim where she believes she finally found Kenobi. Obi Wan encounters her on Tatooine after her searching leads her there they have an emotional duel where she demands answers for why he left her while trying to get Revenge only for Obi Wan Kenobi to defeat her in the duel due to his rational mind. He then has a heart based conversation with her about everything that happened and why he disappeared convincing her to leave Tatooine and start a new life under the criminal underworld still hiding from The Empire among bounty hunters. With her missing The search for her continues but Palpatine looses interest in her possible survival & Vader pissed at her disappearance because he wonders if there is a possibility that she may have been on to something but changes his mind after a talk with Palpatine and spending time at Padme’s graveyard in the rain.

@@DespotofAntrim this wouldn’t even be the main plot, this was part of my fan treatments of what I would have done if I handled the Kenobi Show. I worked on this when the trailers first came out. The main plot would’ve been Obi Wan learning from , The Whills, Yoda, & Qui Gon on how to become a force ghost and how to keep Luke safe while finding the best way to prepare him for his journey as a Jedi. Through Obi Wan’s training with The Whills especially he wouldn’t just learn how to become a force ghost or how to handle Luke as he’s not sure when he’ll be ready for Training as a Jedi, but he’ll also be alerted by The Whills during his training about Reva’s mission to capture him and he’ll use the force with the assistance of The Whills to figure out various ways to defeat all her plans without leaving Tatooine. Obi Wan would have some doubts and opinions about The Whills instructions about how to move forward believing in ideas that he think would make the situation better but he would constantly be reminded that events must play out The Way The Whills have foreseen in order for him to accomplish his mission. The show would have three side plots,
1.) Spending time with Luke through bonding as well as keeping him safe. This would be where they form they’re relationship though it won’t be the closest one since Luke still doesn’t know too much about it him by Episode 4 besides him being an old hermit.
2.) Obi Wan thinking back to the past of his time as a Youngling and Padawan before The Phantom Menace. This would cover possible interesting unseen events about his life which would put most of the focus on him and further his character.
They’re will also be flashbacks to events between episodes 1 , 2 & 3 to further his character dynamics with Anakin throughout the years before he turned.
3.) Meeting two young Runaway Jedi on Tatooine who he would bond with but worn to stay hidden from The Empire named Jett & Fern. Obi Wan would run into them and form a bond with them once they remember him but they want revenge against The Empire, & The Sith for what they’ve been through.
Obi Wan tries to warn them to not to seek revenge as not just is it against The Jedi code but they’ll put they’re own lives at risk. Due to a disagreement on this matter they part ways which ends tragically as they leave Tatooine and head to Coruscant to kill Vader & The Emperor as revenge thinking they’ll prove Kenobi wrong. Darth Vader & his battalion kill them along with anyone else they rallied behind them in the journey along with any residents on Coruscant who choose to rebel against The Empire. Obi Wan senses this and it hits him hard as he starts to feel some level of doubt for him training Luke in the future but he holds strong.
The Reva side plot would be built up over the course of three seasons for the show but the end of it would reserved for a season 3 series finale.

About half way through the first episode I noticed my shoes were perhaps a bit too tight. Not wanting to loosen them I thought I'd wiggle my toes around a bit. It didn't work, so I started rocking my ankles from side to side. That kind of helped, but it still felt like they were too tight. I keep a bear-claw back-scratcher on my bookshelf so I decided to look at that for a bit, kind of wanting to use it, but not even sure I could be arsed to get up. Kenobi was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. First we had the God awful Sequel Trilogy. Okay, maybe they can make some show that retcons some of the more nonsensical stuff and gives it more heft and meaning. If Clone Wars could do that for the Prequels, there's no reason the Sequels shouldn't be able to pull something like that off. Then I remembered Rey was a Mary Sue and every other character was about as interesting as a plank of wood.
I got my hopes up when they revived Clone Wars for a 7th season. Yay! Aaaaaand it's only three 4-episode arcs, one of which is only there to promote a new show coming to Disney Plus. The Season 7 we got was alright, and I enjoyed the Siege of Mandalore finale, but goddamn there was so much more room to build on the universe. Not to mention they completely skipped Son of Dathomir so Maul's return makes no sense if you haven't read the comic. But it's whatever, at least the show has a semi-proper ending now.
Then Kenobi was announced, and I was hyped af I didn't pay attention to any of the Twitter battles or any of that garbage because I figured it was just modern Disney being modern Disney (which it kinda was). I figured a Kenobi series would be a softball, a slam dunk for Disney! There are so many interesting themes to explore during Obi-wan's exile.
We could explore how he deals with his failure of keeping Anakin in the Light, or how he finds new purpose as Luke's guardian. Hell they could even have Qui-Gon train him to become a Force Ghost, that's an element of the Force that's hardly been explored in the shows and movies. It could have shown a cool new side to both Obi-wan, Qui-Gon and the Force itself, and maybe explore some of the ideas that George never got to. This show would have been 10x better if it were more psychologically focused. Obi-wan would definitely have PTSD after Palpatine swindled him and Yoda with the Clone Wars and turned his own apprentice against him, and again it could have been an interesting take on Obi-wan's postwar life.
Instead, we got Reva: A Star Wars Story (featuring Obi-wan Kenobi). The fact that they could miss such an amazing storytelling opportunity staring them in the face made me lose any and all hope regarding the live action side of things. I'm still looking forward to The Bad Batch because Dave Filoni and his crew are actually somewhat competent, but it's honestly not much of an improvement over the rest of Star Wars currently. As a wise man once said, "I don't count being competent as a real improvement. That is the bare minimum."

It’s actually hard to believe how Disney so utterly & completely destroyed this franchise, shoehorning in all these new characters that no one wants to see. If you want to introduce new characters into a franchise then you do it slowly, have all the new characters just have minor parts in these shows and let people slowly get used to them while still focusing the story on the characters we love.
But no, they shove all these new characters down our throats and kill off or sideline the characters we actually want to see. I was done with Star Wars after the Last Jedi, and I’ll never again watch anything so long as they own the franchise.

There's one upside to this show though, it has the best scene in history when Obi Wan spent more time disabling that laser fence over the road than it would have taken to walk around it. Which also makes the placement of the fence and lack of more fencing connected to it as unrealistic and stupid as the rest of Star Wars since 1983. For the reddit virgin zombies: It could also be driven around, so it was not a vehicle block.

The whole series was clumsy - bad acting, the sets looked cheap and the story was badly scripted. Grown adults chasing Leia was absolutely laughable. Reva was the worst character because she was extremely annoying. The only bit I liked was Vader’s line admitting to Kenobi, he killed Anakin Skywalker. That’s it. 0.1/10

My approach to Reva’s character would’ve been different.
With her missing The search for her continues but Palpatine looses interest in her possible survival & Vader pissed at her disappearance because he wonders if there is a possibility that she may have been on to something but changes his mind after a talk with Palpatine and spending time at Padme’s graveyard in the rain.

this wouldn’t even be the main plot, this was part of my fan treatments of what I would have done if I handled the Kenobi Show.
