@@StyxxOfDidymos why do you assume they didn't read the books? And now that the show is out, the "recruitment tool" and "not looking for roommate" bits are definitely spoilers
Watched 5 minutes of this review and it's mostly just highlighting plot points and spoiling things. Less than 3 minutes left and it's barely spoken to the quality of dialogue, cinematography, or really anything. It's more of a show summary than a review.
Thats always how IGN review movies or shows. They just say what happened and drop a score at the end. But thats why you should watch actual dedicated reviewers, not a Video game site.
Guys you can watch this review the comment section is full of children who have never read the book or watched the show . Please ignore this uneducated person's comment.

No . There isn't you are just repeating the comments you've read cause your desprate for attention and likes. It spoiled nothing . Watch the show or read the book you dumb child
IGN has terrible journalism ethics! Your reviews have become spoiler filled “buzzword” editorials that are the equivalent of verbal masterbation. A review for a pre-release is supposed to be an objective analysis of what viewers should look forward to. Not a spoiler filled self-indulgent diatribe about plot twists and character motivations. Once upon a time IGN was an organization trusted for entertainment journalism at the forefront of genre culture. Now it’s a algorithm driven joke desperately grasping at whatever it thinks is “trending.” SHAME!
there never was a point. you can summarize the premise of the trilogy on one page. the rest is just poorly written sci-magic (its not hard science at all, we today know better than what the author assumes, he makes fundamental mistakes.)
No they didn't. You've never watched the show or read the book . Try forming your own opnion instead of just repeating what you read in a RUclips comment section . How childish. Lmfao .
Episodes 1-5 really built intrigue. 6-8 absolutely ruined the whole thing for me. It gets so silly and impossible. And no, not because it leans into the Fi of Sci-Fi, but because actions are taken (or not taken) make little-to-no sense. It becomes a comedy for how laughable every scene is once the story FINALLY picks up pace again after 2 hours of drudging through ep 6 and 7
I’m sorry, but as a fan of the book series, your review didn’t highlight if people in my camp would like the changes being done, and it’s quite obvious there are many changes that Make this a fundamentally different story.
Don't watch this until you read all 3 books, it's a more condensed spoiled version of it that takes a lot of the nuance and mistery from the novels (based on his full of spoiler review..)
The police character played by Benedict Wong’s name is not Da. In the book, his nickname is Da Shi. In Chinese context, this nickname means his Last name is Shi(史). The “Da” means big. Basically it can be interpreted as big bro Shi.
IGN: take this video down. As noted in the review, this project is meant to introduce the story TO PEOPLE WHO AREN’T FAMILIAR WITH IT. It’s cool and all that the reviewer is familiar with the entire franchise in its assorted incarnations, but this vid is written for people who know the twists and ruins them for the people this show is made for. You know all those times in every other science fiction production that makes you roll eyes... like where the supposed biologist goes to prod the clearly provoked alien, or characters make some other equally idiotic decision that no one with a high school diploma would make? Well this show manages to avoid 95% of those. The decisions actually make sense. The characters ask the right questions. What plot holes you do see, are mostly explained by the fact that the show simply couldn't cover everything. Its a really refreshing experience for anyone with an interest in sci-fi and science.
