I love this thing. I have a 16” vintage trash crash over a 16” dual crash as my aux hats. I got the idea from Imad Coulibaly out of Boston (check him out) who was rocking the same thing. Definitely a nice piece of hardware if you’re interested in this kind of setup. Give it a try!
Seems legit….. I’ve got the DW version and I love it! Sometimes I’ll throw hats on it, sometimes I’ll throw a stack on it, right now I have two 10” splashes set up as mini hats…..
I have the 12" Classics Custom Dark Trash Stack. A regular hi hat clutch does not work on the account that the two cymbals are really close together. Will this work?
This is great! I finally set mine up a couple of days ago. I just need to decide what to put on it now. I'm currently using my Zildjian 14" New Beats - but want to get some 12" mini hats for a more permanent set up. Any suggestions?
Well, from what we make, we have 10" hats and 13" hats, but nothing that is a standard type of. cymbals sound in a 12". We do have a set of 12" trash hats in our generation-x series, but they are exactly as the name implies - trashy sounding. They sound great as a stack too if you close them down somewhat tight. You can always get some 12" splashes and try making combos out of those. Or maybe some other companies make some straight up 12" hats that have traditional hat sound. Whatever works for you!
I had the same problem with the Gibraltar aux hat....the full threads are raw and expose your cymbal bells to keyholing. And so does the hi hat clutch. You would think all these companies could engineer one that doesn't damage cymbals. Returned it.
@@dhaitmanek some clutches do have a machined shade where the cymbal sits. It’s almost criminal that they do this, ruins cymbals. Also they are cheap cast material which isn’t very nice.
I see that it unsrcrews itself with each hit. I'm sure it wouldt hold the desired tension for half a song. its a shame. you can clearly see how it loosens with each hit.
@@matrixmodulator I guess, but at least rdavidr’s is cheap. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great product, but it’s just kind of pointless since you can make this significantly cheaper with his design.
I need this for the Zildjian stack I’m bout to buy.
Ha! Zildjian stacks < Meinl stacks.
Absolute madlad
Ha! Nicely played.
I loved the Meinl answer!
This is diabolical. And the fact that Meinl replied to it too 🤣🤣🤣💀💀
This would work great for the open-handed set-up I dream of having eventually!!
Worrying that it seems to unscrew itself while played upon at 00:20, is it solid?
haha its literaly unscrewing itself at each hit wtf
@@matrixmodulator Yeah, like a built in chorus amplifier (all songs starts soft but will go slamming in a minute or two) 😂

Nice! Are the black wing nuts plastic or metal?
Is that the man Matt Halpern?? Nice
Hell yeah it is! You can tell by the Periphery tattoo on his wrist!
I just bought one yesterday. Great for a double kick drummer.
It's unscrewing itself with each hit
Exactly, the top cymbal gets loose after 5 minutes. There should be some additional locking screw. Gotta revise the design dear Meinl!
Just got mine today! Merry Christmas everyone!

The worst part about this boom arm is it is fully threaded so can keyhole cymbals, small thing but ehh.
What hihat are you using for the little one?
also the plastic wing nuts... why not metal like... like... all the other cymbal arms or stands lol

Holy shit you are right.
I saw it now too. Seems like a not good buy.
Dass die Schrauben aus Plastik sind ist leider wirklich schwach.
Just seen the spring loaded dial moving during the playing, so seems not that stable.
They stole the design from rdavidr
but this one is better, i mean, who doesnt like plastic wing nuts ? lol Gibraltar makes a similar one, all metal, and i think its older than this one.
