Interesting review and very useful. Katarin and I have used one recently and to be honest we found there were condensation problems big time with the two of us inside, that apart from all the things you said too. We are neither of us short (I am 6' 1'' and Katarin 5' 11''') so you can imagine the space available, especially when we had to laden Bergens too - lol good job we are very good friends. Only glad we had not bought it and only had it issued for 3 nights. Take care, stay well and stay safe and the very best of all seasonal greetings. Helen with Kat and Terri with Robyn.
Thanks for that Helen. Its well made but I just don't like the design. I think I would have had more usable space in my Backwoods bungalow. Merry Christmas to you all. x
I've just realised, after spending way too long looking at both tents, that I'm pretty certain this is basically a green Berghaus Brecon 2 with a slightly different inner tent (the bunker has no porch and is instead a '3 person' tent (it's not, it was a squeeze with me and my 6 and 9 year old). The drawings of both tents show very similar dimensions, 5cm bigger here, 5cm smaller there, enough to be within tolerance the same, and the Brecon has the same 2 doors despite specs online saying it only has the one (I found pics of a Brecon with both doors open). I had a Bunker for a couple of years and it was extremely stable, but sold it because it was a tad short for me (but perfectly livable). I've just bought a Brecon 2, and I'll eat my hat if it's not basically the same tent for less than half the price.
Honest review, punchy and to the point. That opening does seem a tad small. I've got to say I do like your choice of boots in your last couple of vids. Keep up the work JB.
Thanks for posting. Not much use for small tents anymore(too old to crawl in and out of easily/conveniently). But am always curious about how/why they design the newer ones and IF they would be something to even consider. This appears to make my "not for me" list also. I often wonder where they get their "size" classification because I haven't found many tents that aren't 1/2 the size of what the manufacturers like to "classify" their tents as over the last couple of decades.
Excellent review, balanced and well presented, thank you. Separate from this, I do feel Snugpak have sat on their laurels of late, and several items they market, some of which I have, need updating, all the more so at Snugpaks pricing levels?
I still prefer my f2. Sleeping wonky is not for me. Was that Marc's voice I heard in the background? If it was, I would have loved to hear you tell him to shut it for a bit. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.
Great review. I always take what manufacturers say with a pinch of salt. I have the Vango Banshee 300 (three person) for two people plus gear. My Banshee 2 person for solo camps. My wife would say unless it has two bedrooms and you can stand in it, it's to small😂. But that's another story
It looks like a "father and son" tent to me. Ideally it would be great for two teenagers, but what teenagers could afford it? Good to see Snugpak's reputation for quality is upheld though
I will be honest here and say that in my own opinion "Slugpak" have always tried to emulate army kit and always missed the mark. Over priced for what they offer. My LGM had 2 full size cots in it and the only issue was the floor could have been tougher. We sat on the cots and ate while we drank coffee but then again what would you expect for £35.00. Maybe we will add a footprint. :)
I've never understood all the hype about Snugpak gear... I'm not a fan personally, especially with all the "ambassadors" bigging it up all the time. That entrance is terrible IMO for such a large tent. And deffo not a 3 man...🤷🏼♂️
one man and his kit be about right , like you said bigger doors its what's needed but in the mean time you keep it ill keep my tarp 😎 sod no place to put your boots tho dude
aah man love the sence of humour on the niggles with d features or missings ect gd vid heheh ... 2 its a 2 man hobbit tent eh lol w no flippin porch shamefull lol

A very clear and concise clip. 😊
Whilst I like Snugpak as brand, I certainly wouldn't entertain the idea of owning one of these tents.
Yep, its not one I would buy.
I have this Tent and its Brilliant in Heavy Winds and Torrential Rain. It does have its problems but it's still a great Tent...
No doubt, its very well constructed.
Once again many thanks for a great review on this bit of kit, these reviews save me a fortune in what and what not to buy 😊
My pleasure, I enjoy filming them.

Cant beat a pair of riggers when its cold and muddy. 😁
The missing porch is a serious problem. Nice review!
Yes, its a must for me if spending this much money.

Yep, the "man sizing" is a bit of a joke.

Thanks for that. 👍I agree for this sort of money I expected more. Build quality was good, but the design itself needs looking at.
That tent reminds me of the USMC Marine Corps 2 Man Combat Tent. The doors are on the big pannel. Is this one a copy with a few changes?
Could well be. 👍
Great, honest review. Wonder how you would feel using it on the side of a hill, with the wind and rain?😮
Good question!

Yes it was, he was filming that weekend too.
Thanks that was really helpful. What would you say is your choice of tentncor price and useability? Cheers
Depends on what you need and price.
@@jim-bob-outdoors well, something similar to the bunker in price and useability?
@@tubefreakmuva this is cheaper and more practical in my opinion. www.onetigris.com/en/scaena-backpacking-tent.html
@@jim-bob-outdoors Thanks that was great

I agree, a lot of the claims are pie in the sky.

Agreed. Father and son or one man and a dog, perfect size.
Could you camp more in the French F2 tent ??? Have fun stay safe.
Planning to soon. I have a winter underblanket to try out on one of the hammocks, and I also want to get the Backwoods Bungalow out again soon.
Good honest review
Thanks Steve. 👍
Now I remember why I call that company "slugpak"
Funny you say that, I had to flick a slug off the door before getting in at one point. 😂

I agree Lee. Far from perfect and you could get better from Onetigris for half the money.
utterly reccomend d insulated poncho liner jus not d stuff sack comes in... lol
Have two sleeping bags from Snugpak and while they look good they are not as warm as they say they should be. Really disappointed with them.
Only the high end bags are UK made, the rest come out of China. 😒

Yep, its not very well thought out.
its why i said keep it lol plus a tent shouldn't cost that much @@jim-bob-outdoors
@@josht.m9697 I agree, thankfully its not mine. 😁😁
Doors are way to small. It's a Gizmo tent without any worthwhile Gizmo's. So many reinventions of the wheel to grab market share with a new take.
Yep, you cant beat some of the old school designs.
@@jim-bob-outdoors
I remember the old tent poles. Two piece light timber with aluminium joining collar. Simple and strong.
👍honest 👍
Thanks. 👍
