Great video! I just picked mine up and still fine tuning the camera hub! My favorite part is the hub actually SAVES your settings!!! Logitech never did and I hated that about my older webcam!
Oh my God, how did I never realize that the my Logitech webcam wasn't saving my settings, I never stopped to think about it.. I would tweak the settings, everything would be fine, then the next livestream would look like complete garbage again.. I'm so glad I'm getting this Elgato camera, going to throw that Logitech one in the garbage where it belongs.
What a great review! No nonsense, thorough and so informative. You covered everything I wanted to know about the Facecam and its software. I'm upgrading from a C920. Liked and subscribed! 👍😃
Bought mine about 2 years ago. Decent webcam, just disappointed with the fact that it has no way to record and at a $200 value, some of us expect that. Not all of us use OBS to record vids.
Super thorough and helpful! I have a C922x and have been shopping around. Went through 2 Dell Ultrasharp 4K webcams both of which I returned. I'm seriously thinking of trying this one.
your shutterspeed should always be double what the frames per second is so if you have 60 frames then you should be on 125 for your shutter speed and then increase your iso a little. It wont give you noise until you are much further up in the iso levels.
Just received mine today but it won't save the settings to the camera; go figure. It seems the BRAND NEW cord that comes with the Facecams suck. I just ordered a NEW cord for my NEW Elagato facecam.
“Eye-so” for ISO is correct. It stands for International Organization for Standardization. It’s an acronym, as in, you pronounce it as if it is a word (vs. abbreviation).
i still get a blank screen. I followed the trouble shooting tips, no lens cap, 3.0 usb port, turn off and on. STILL have a blank screen. I can only take a screen shot, what am I missing here?
I love the look this camera gives and that the settings can be saved on the camera, so you can take it with you to another device to work that way. I'm excitedly awaiting delivery of mine today. Thanks!
hi i have a question do you have any old pc parts that you would be willing to give away because i just got my first pc the Acer veriton x6630g refurbished maybe even give me some tips
@@TechAuditTV Fantastic review😍 I'm not a streamer, but I do most meetings on Teams these days, so you made me buy it! Do you know other types of software for Mac that supports background blur other than the crappy ones that's built-in on Teams/Zoom/Hangout🤔
You need to have a solid motherboard for this. I got this and I cannot use my Xbox controller. If I do, my facecam screws up and drops to 1 frame per second.
I have very important question ... Since this camera has fixed focus is this focus infinity ? (I mean after 5 or 10 meter or for any far object will the object will be blur or still clear and sharp) Thank you 😊
Yeah it won't produce any blur for far away objects. Once you get past the optimal 30-120cm range, the objects will become less and less clear as they move further away
@@TechAuditTV I also want to ask one more thing ... Can we cannect 2 or multiple this(elgato) web cam at same time using obs or other software ? (On one RUclips video it said we can connect only one) And thank you for quick reply ☺️🙂
just bought this for 100 bucks on amazon warehouse, gonna use it as a camera to record youtube videos, maybe if i ever made it bigger on youtube then i can look at a proper camera in future but for 100 bucks i'd consider it a bargain
the main reason why i bought a Facecam. #1: no 4K bullsh*t (other camera offer 4K, but quality is like 720p scaled up). #2: no microphone (they actually pay attention on our needs rather than blinding us with these features).
I think it definitely depends on your current setup and how you plan to use it. Your casual work-from-home Zoom webcam? Overpriced. An addition to a streaming setup with good lighting and the possibility of spinning that into VOD content? Definitely worth it.
Still dissapointed it doesn't include a microphone. Seems like it adds more depth to the image rather than the "flat" look most webcams have, which is cool.
Only use of having a mic on a webcam that I could see is like doing video calling for work or sum. Why buy a good webcam before buying a good mic tho? Surely a bad mic would be the bigger nuisance in a call.
@@RhinoTTH Let's go through the options. Your Cell: Free. High Quality. Setup is a headache though. Logitech 920: Cheap. Mediocre quality. Setup is easy plug and play. Mirrorless: Expensive. Highest Quality you can get. Hassle to setup. The Elgaro Facecam's niche is really people who want an easy higher quality webcam for video conferencing. Like if my laptops cheap crappy webcam is terrible. Or if I use an external monitor and something I just plunk on the top.
Their answer that they'll need multiple profiles saved in cam is a bit disingenuous. You don't need this, to change other sliders on the fly through StreamDeck.
That's a great question! I have not personally tested that. I imagine the webcam itself would work with a Linux OS. The question would be if Elgato's Camera Hub software would work. I've seen people successfully use the CamLinj 4K on Linux, which could be an indication that other Elgato products would work. If you are thinking of buying, I would first go to Elgato's website and download the Camera Hub software to see if it works and if so, the webcam should be fine! Bit this is only my guess. Perhaps I need to build a PC for Linux testing 🤠
Next year I am going to build my streaming setup and that's going to be my life's first ever desktop too. Because I had used only 2 laptops (currently dead RIP) till now and both were very low end. I had planned to buy everything elgato, which are- 1. Elgato FaceCam 2. Elgato Keylight Air 3. Elgato Wave 3 Mic 4. Elgato boom arm 5. Elgato Stream Deck 6. Elgato Shock Mount for Wave 3 7. Elgato Pop Filter for Wave 3
I made an impulse buy and bought this when it was announced, I've been using a c920 for 5/6 years now. I got it looking really good, but still notice a lot of noise and my skin not looking the best on it. I have an RTX Card so Broadcast makes it look good. I have been having second thoughts now lol Like I may return it, but now after watching a lot of reviews, this can deff make the webcam quality so much better for the stream and even Vids in the future. Great vid!
@@TechAuditTV Well I took away the light I used to use. lol Since my space is very limited atm being in a small living room. So I have a floor lamp and i have some LED lights and the 2 monitors which produce just enough to make the image good. I will probably re hook up my light I used which was just a cheap light my gf picked up, but it is a LED light and has 3 or 4 brightness settings and works really well and is just bright haha. So hopefully that will be good enough until I can get a bigger space for my set up. And no problem! And when I stream during the day We have the curtains open so the cat can look out lmao So with the ISO and the sun brightly shining on my face that will help a lot with out me having to get up to close the curtain.
@@TechAuditTV Soo.. I just got my Facecam maaaaaaaan Its so fire. Like its really Night and day compared to my c920. And I had filters and luts and used NVidia Broadcast. Game Changer.
If it wasnt fixed focus, it would've been an INSTANT buy from me. Manual / auto focus is just really fun. I wish I had that on my PW513. The lack of focus almost makes me want to downgrade to an older / cheaper webcam...

@@JamesPawson Beyond frustrating that it couldn't do a simple task like saving a preset haha!!! I love my Elgato, use it almost daily for my Tik Toks!
This is it. I got the announcement that there's gonna be an announcement. And I'm not disappointed

Thanks for the kind words John! Glad it could help out with your decision making process!
I think this is easily the most anticipated elgato device but still so sweet that they did.

Thank you for the review and mini tutorial, that was excellent. A generous subscriber is sending me this camera, I'm so stoked.
it’s worth it because affordable DSLR cameras are priced to above $500 right now, plus you’d have to buy a capture card

Great video! How did U apply a blur to the facecam!?!
Thanks! You need NVIDIA Broadcast, which is a free piece of software. You just check the blur box and it's added!

Yes Camera Hub will allow you to connect an unlimited amount of Facecam's!
Did you notice the flickering in the bottom right throughout the video? That really bugged me, issue with the camera?
Looks like he has autoflicker off in the settings
Just picked it up, works wonders
Are you seeing flickering in practical and other background lights?
i love it, and with the Nvidia background effect, is all i need. the price compared to a DSLR or iPhone is so convenient.

I think ya scooped everyone 🤣😎
I am definitely going to get this product,Really impressed with its features and how I can integrate it with FB videos

fun fact. In OBS you can fine tune the facecam even more 😉

Webcam mics are always crappy anyway, so it's not really a negative

so i downloaded the camera hub thinking it was gonna support all webcams and it doesnt
Nope w/ their software You normally will have to have the elgato product for it.

how tf does this only have 920 views
