Hello, after fixing the settings, do I have to keep obs running for the webcam quality to always be like that?
I really appreciate that you actually showed how you achieve the results, a lot of people just show before and after on this kind of thing

There's another tech review streamer who reviewed this product and dismissed it entirely based on its out of the box settings. @@TechAuditTV what do you do to make your elgato wave 3 to sound good? I use streamlabs, what do you use?
@@EVO_X86 I use Streamlabs as well but I don't make any software optimizations to the mic. It's all just the natural mic!
@@TechAuditTV for some reason, when I edit the camera properties on stream labs and open up another tab (camera, zoom) and go back, the exposure get set back to auto

if you don't use the microphone, the cam is nice. She got an update, which is ok in the microphone, too.
I've got the c920 for a few years but didnt even know that there was a software to fine tune the settings.

How's your experience with the webcam? Would you recommend it?
OBS is the hero for this type of cameras ! I do the same trick with the Loetad-cam where i paid just 16€ for the manual-focus-version.
BTW - you missed the best part of this trick: If you use such a cam in zoom or a similar meeting-tool it may not work for OBS at the same time, but you can go to the camera-settings anyway and adjust the cam. It shows no image in OBS then but in Zoom and you see that is set up as you want it - with the setting-dialog which was opened from OBS.
I found a repo from a guy who made a script to open the settings dialog directly from windows, gonna try that out when the cam arrives :D
Does the adjustment stays active? Does it work in zoom meetings???
@@edsoncampos8947 the camera will stay adjusted as long as it is on. And yes it does not matter in which program you use the camera. I've used this with zoom, MS-Teams and discord.
But there is nothing that saves the setting. The next time you start your PC you have to adjust it again.

@@MindfulSapient as i said i use a cam from LOETAD, which is a very similar cheap one. This class of cameras can be quite good for dayly meetings or other usual purposes when using the hidden settings as i told. It can be ok for eventually upload something on YT. But it is a cheap cam anyways. For driving a regular YT-channel or regular streaming you should use something better with bigger sensor, better lenses and of course having a good light-setup around it.

I bought this after watching this review and found a deal for £12 in the UK (like 15 bucks). Man, even out of the box, it's insane for the money! Bit overexposed like your starting image was, but I'm already impressed and can't wait to play with the settings. Thanks a bunch for the helpful vid.

EDIT: The Aukey arrived and after following the steps in your video I can confirm that it's awesome! I sent a test video to some friends and they all thought I was using the more expensive brand camera. Next I'm going to try out that $50 Depstech one from your other video. Can't believe how cheap this was, even in Norway. $25 and that wasn't even on sale. Thanks for the video! Just saved me $80 as most other web cams below $100 aren't super impressive out of the box.
I don't care a lot of the additional features so this works perfect for me. Not expecting anything amazing for a $25 dollar camera, but the picture quality looks good for such a low end camera.
It honestly looks like a $60 camera in terms of quality.
How's your expereince using the webcam so far? Would you recommend it? I read in one of the comments that it freezes a lot? Did it ever happen with your device?
@@MindfulSapient know im many months late but using it on a low power usb 1 port it lagged glitched and froze constantly, changed to usb 3.0 and its flawless and looks natural and warm and fits my stream perfectly
@@MindfulSapient I bought it and it works well, although the lighting to the skin is a bit off, so its not a perfect camera.
You need to have basically perfect lighting in your room for it to work well. I'm actually looking into a Sony camera to upgrade it.

I have a logitech streamcam and when I double click I don't get any "configure video" button. In fact I only get a button for use presets.

Cheap things are getting good. Expensive things are getting better, too, I guess, but now you can manage with cheap things now, it's crazy.
I followed this and it was an amazing change! However when I reboot the computer everything goes back to the default settings. Is there a way to get it to save the settings? Thanks you :)

Really nice review and great tips on how to use OBS to get the best out of your webcam!! I think with the wider angle cameras it would have been nice to show how you can crop the image to not include the background if you don't want it in your image while still keeping the HD resolution as there is no zoom feature available with the more budget friendly webcams.

I think so but you have to do something in obs I think. you have to use obs as your camera in teams

What about when you are on a video conference? I don't think you can tweak the settings... Also, some cheap cameras (maybe not the Aukey), are not good in low light conditions as the picture gets super pixelated.

I have the same webcam. When I try to double click in streamlabs I don't have those same options as you though. I can only select a preset and that's it.
