It's no secret that webcams can be hard to come by these days, at least at reasonable prices. The Logitech C920 webcam continues to be one of the most popular budget webcams but do to Logitech raising their prices (and constant low stock) it's forced consumers to look elsewhere. The Aukey FHD 1080p webcam has been rising in popularity for it's impressive image quality and even more impressive affordability. But is the Aukey FHD webcam a true alternative to the 1080p Logitech C920? This video breaks down the two budget webcams.

Thanks a lot, great content. I am fully with you, owning both the C920 and the Aukey, as i needed a Webcam quickly and the C920 was not available i purchased locally the Aukey. Another Problem with the Aukey is, that with neon lighting it flickers. The large viewing angle of the Aukey is also pretty annoying in your homeoffice, as you are showing so much of your home.....For me...stay clear of the Aukey and get the C920, it is worth it. If you need something cheap and cheerful for a couple of conference calls, the Aukey will do, but anything more....Logitech !
I have had the aukey webcam for two years and I was looking for a comparison of it and you have saved my life because since this brand is not known much, there are not many videos of this product, however you have taken content from this webcam and I have been able to know how it is Both behave, tomorrow I get the c920 from amazon and I'm going to have it for my streams I guess I'll give the aukey to my sister.

Many of webcam comparison decisions boil down to availability and price, at this time in my country c920 is almost 3x of aukey . This makes aukey a good buy considering it is pretty good for the price.
It's almost temping to get a small point and shoot with usb-hdmi convertor at that price

Cool! They seem to normally sell for upwards of $60 or $120 where I live, but I'm seeing offers that go as low as $25 to $32. With the way I will have the cameras set up, they'll point down onto my desk using modified Baseus phone holder arms, like what Good e-Reader and My Deep Guide have for their videos, but without having to mess with a whole bunch of memory cards, power cables, and remote controls. I remember someone else mentioning the use of Windows camera settings to adjust the video output.
How sensitive is the Wave Mic to keyboard sounds? Since it’s standing next to it I can imagine hitting the keys might be picked up by the mic and get annoying...
i need help i got this webcam and after a day of using it i open obs and all i see is a very dark screen and very blurry and pixelated i tried to fix it in settings but nothing would fix the darkness i even put a lot of lights in my room nothing pls help

Has anyone noticed that the status light of the Aukey webcam turns on at startup and stays on, even if Windows shows nothing using the webcam? The only way to fix is to open an app that uses the camera and then exiting.

If you want to switch settings on the aukey you can just open up obs add the camera as a source and click settings and it opens the built in windows camera settings. There is probably a way to open the same menu without downloading obs but I don't know how

you can change the auto on/off colors, brightness, white balance etc. for the aukey in camera configuration

In the UK the aukey goes for £40 and the c920 is £90. You could buy the aukey and snowball for basically the same price as the c920. I have a terrible HP webcam and I can edit it in OBS so it doesn't really matter that the aukey doesn't come with software.

02/2021 and the Logitech is 100€ vs. 30 for the Aukey. You can get a pretty good mic for the difference.

Thanks, this webcam is one I hadn't seen. Personally, I disagree with your point that "wide screen is better" when most people, in reality, are using web cams for Zoom meetings, or to teach or attend classes. In all of those situations, a tighter view of the streamer is better -- you do not really want to see, or show, the whole room. Sure if you are doing a RUclips video where you need to show your whole tabletop, you want wide angle, but if that's what you're doing then a webcam is probably not the best solution anyway.

Yeah I mean if the camera is not in use it's "off" but you are the type that likes to put tape over a webcam, you're going to want an external shutter or just unplug it.
I bought the Logitech c920s because of the included lense cover. Awesome quality too.

Great video! A question - when you show the Aukey video, what is that flickering color bar at the bottom right of the frame? Is that from Streamlabs? Or actually in the camera output? It is very visible at 3:15 for example, just below the boom arm elbow.
He clearly states that is from the camera itself lol must of missed that part huh lmao 3:20 .. 5 secs after the time stamp you mentioned 🤷🏾♂️
Why is it that the Aukey looks bad in other videos but yours looks great? Is it your lighting or is it more compatible with different softwares?

I just got the Aukey. While sharpness and detail is decent, the image in yellow night light is very sepia-like; very little color. I'm guessing the white balance is set up to work best in daylight temperatures. Any recommendations / workarounds to fix this?
I think I need to do a more in-depth review of this camera. Lots of great questions like in the comment I'll try to test and address!

what boom arm are you using for the Elgato Wave?
I just use a cheap $12-15 NEEWER arm off Amazon. It does the job!

AUKEY is freaking amazing for its price
Once you play around with the settings on Stream Lab, its honestly comparable to a lot of the mid tier cameras out there. I got it for a steal for $20 bucks, brand new but open package :)
Agreed! Plug and play will get people mixed results. But if you can play with the lighting and fine tune OBS or Streamlabs settings, it's a banger webcam for the price.

The logitech is better in almost every way besides the swivel, but rn it's $30 in amazon cyber Monday deal. Aukey no brainer right now

I have the Aukey and I really like the sharp image for the price but I really hate that I can't adjust the zoom level. It's too far stretched out for me, showing parts of my room I don't want people to see.

That is one the downsides of the Aukey, no zoom feature built in! I didn't zoom on this. You might be thinking of the C920 shots? That camera is more cropped in.

Lighting! I have an Elgato ring light behind the cameras and that makes a world of difference in image quality

😂 I got it for free at a local golf club shop. It's part of Nike's golf hats and it's nice. Stretchy and breathable material that never shows sweat stains like other hats.
Using the C922 - it's pricey but way ahead of the Aukey in the lighting conditions I have...

You need 60fps no mastery what. Most webcams have to sacrafice clarity of 1080 pixels at 30fps to give you 60fps at 720 pixels.
Nexigo for $59 is a flat out 1080 at 60fps always.

The webcam as a whole is very cheap and the build of it differse as when I bought this webcam, it had noticeably worse video quality than most of the videos of people praising it. After hours and hours of messing with it I could never get the low light quality to be as good as a logitech webcam. The camera also only lasted about one year till it stopped working completely in obs which was expected being that the camera is under 50 USD. This camera is great for beginning but i'd advise that you buy something within the 60-70 mark to actually get your worth out of it.
LOL. I watched the vid because I got tired of looking at inexpensive 1080/2k/4k cams only to find they are all 640x480.
I mean the Aukey is 15€ vs Logitech 70€ so it's kind of an obvious choice now for me

Just got the Aukey, way worse image than yours. There is basically no colour in it, just black and white. If I hold a piece of white paper up to it I can see some colour on the edges as it corrects for it, but in normal use it is terrible

I go with the Logitech C270. 720/30fps. The pic is good and so is the mic. You can get them used on Mercari for 18 to 20 dollars. New about 39.00 the last time I checked. No Aukey for me. No thanks. :)
