My dad was the ACTUAL replacement chef the Gordon Ramsay team hired at this restaurant back when it was still in operation. I still remember meeting Tatiana at that restaurant when I was a kid (after they had filmed and aired the episode of course). It’s honestly surreal seeing Felix do a video on this episode. I’ll ask my dad to see what he remembers and I will share it with you guys. Again, this was years ago lol
(edit/update 1) To clarify further,
my dad was the replacement for the guy who got fired at 24:08
The chef they talked about finding at 27:54 ended up being my dad
(edit/update 2) My dad worked at Charlie’s until they eventually closed 8 months or so after they had filmed the episode (financial reasons I think, the restaurant/chef industry is rough believe it or not). During his time there me, my little brother, and my mom went there and we met Tatiana in person, we went there a few times and she would always talk with us whenever she could, at least until my dad was laid off. The last time we EVER interacted with Tatiana was when my parents sold our old couch to her and that was the last I ever heard about her. She was actually rather friendly and polite in person from what I remember. My dad might still be in contact with her, but I am not sure.
(edit/update 3) Thankfully this story has a happy ending, after Charlie's, my dad was able to put his experience there on his resume, which landed him a bunch of other job opportunities. However me and my family eventually grew sick of California, so we moved across the country half a year ago. We now live in New Hampshire, and he's currently working as the executive chef at a super nice seafood restaurant. He loves his job and couldn't ask for anything else :)

One thing I read one time in the comments and really liked and I always look for it whenever Gordon Ramsay is considered, is how even though he is rough and harsh, he is always polite towards waiters, he knows its not their fault when the dish is bad, and it is something we all could learn from him
Sorry your comment got raided, I agree though gordon is always polite to them and it says a lot considering how high up there he is in the service working industry. "we all could learn from him"
Trying to imply most people are karens?
@@CrossBreedTacoHD Thank you for twisting the goal of my comment into something foul.
If you know something to be right, that does not make it bad if someone leads by example and you notice that and praise it. Especially in a case like here
I meant that waiters are generally treated rudely, by many people, whether that is the right thing and they are to be blamed when the food is bad, remains a disuccion. but he could be a good indicator what is the right answer in that discussion, since he is a person who is generally considered rough and "rudely honest", or by some even just plainly rude, and at the same time, someone who is well known and well educated in that line of buisness.
so that would make him the ideal first person to lash out on the staff if they were to be blamed for it, because a) he would know they are to be blamed because of his knowledge and b)his temperament is of those who would not be quiet even if he knew who is to be blamed.
sooo, when someone like that behaves this well towards waiters, what gives us the right not to, since most of us dont have that amount of knowledge in that line of buisness.
Why do people try to twist everything and everybodys motives into something bad, is your life so horrible that you need to do that? if so, is there a way I could help you instead of you trying to belittle my good intended words in the original comment?
@@nbassasin8092 Discussion? Right answer?
This about as black and white of an "issue" as you can get. A whole lot of hot air without any meaningful substance, but that's besides the point.
Don't want people twisting your motives? Word your thoughts more concretely rather than regurgitating a cliche line like "all of us could learn from blank's example"
Regardless of your intentions, you insulted the general population by implying there was anything new to be learned that they didn't already know. Don't want this unsavory implication? Be more specific. "All" is for too encompassing.
And since you seem to believe that "I meant that waiters are generally treated rudely, by many people," I think you have a very low opinion of the general population, so perhaps my jab that made you puke out that long ass comment had some truth in it...certainly an unexpectedly strong reaction to something so stupid haha

I get the precooked pasta and storing it, when I worked at olive garden last year we did something similar. It gets made in batches in a gaint machine that looks like a deep fryer but boils water. It then gets stored on a speed rack and is wrapped and labeled, as needed it gets pulled from the walk in and gets put under the line in a refrigerated section. There was one time Gordon went to a soul food restaurant and loved the food. It just ended up being more of a decor/management issue
Was that the episode where he liked grandmas baking?
that was a really wholesome episode
Which episode?
@@FukaiKokoro that’s a different one.
@@awebchabchoub6910 I think it’s from the UK version…? I just remember the lack of violin so, I’m assuming.
Mannn I'd say 50% of restaurants in the USA, usually those diner joints just heat up and combine stuff they order from their vendors.
Like I've worked in too many places where we never made our own sauces, never made our own meatballs, never made our own bread. Just literally everything was just thrown together and cooked.
About shrimps (I worked for shrimp exclusive restaurant for 5y+) its because all of the people overcook it. Just get the shrimp and put it in hot water. Shrimp is ready and perfect about like 5-6sec. If u hold it for like 15-20 then its already overcooked. In real restaurant they make a dish (fry shrimp for the taste for like 2 sec) and they just put raw shrimps in hot dish. They are cooked perfectly before it makes to your table.
*gets told to make a meatball*
Casimiro: makes Mexican dish called albondigas 🤣
Right!😂😂😂
😭😭😭😭 frrr
Which are delicious!!!! My amazing Latin wife (best type on earth!) makes those with rice and they SLAP. But then she turns around and makes Italian style meatballs and Alfredo with pesto… I won the lottery with my wife, she can cook any type of food. But her I must admit, her Italian balls she stuffs with cheese and they are insane in the pasta!!!!!!!! Love all Hispanic cuisine, Italian, Asian etc ❤

She took the money from her sister and mom, while she, herself, put almost nothing into it, bought the restorant and was like, hey, my job is done.
I just hope it closed before she got into acting rather than her giving up on them
I don't feel sry for them. If my brother who i love came to me and asked about money to open a restaurant with zero experience i would say no and then ask him to visit a doctor to check his brain.
an owner and a head chef who don't give two shits about the restaurant, what could go wrong ?
But she believed in helself!
LMAO
she got done fucked.. But what I dont get is, why didnt the people who invested in it, have not taken over??? Like really they should have been checking things out and call Tatiana out on BS.
After watching the episode of Amy's bakery, Tatiana seems like an angel in comparison
Is it me or is this the first time i seen the people who work at the resturant actually decided to listen to gordons advice
Nerd I watched last week
I always laugh how their biggest excuse for frozen food is that there is no time ‘what? Too busy with your three customers?’ 😂
Imagine being a chef for years and not accidentally learning how to cook.. like that's almost impressive
Turns out he was cooking mexican versions of the food. Like the meatballs hew as making are mexican meatballs.
As an Italian, I can say that his meatballs looked like my middle school sad meatballs (that everyone complained about...), while Gordon's meatballs looked exactly like my grandma's meatballs (fuƙing delicious)
@@o_o............ damn, insulted the mexicans right there lmao,
Casemiro was making albondigas (mexican meatballs), I believe Casemiro was just cooking mexican food in an italian restaurant
@@mystickev194 he's referring to the burned meatballs
@@niggachi3579 I know, thats why I said what I said
15:45 is so much funnier when you actually go along with it lol
11:51 it looks like something made out of resident evil 7
I love how the biggest message about cooking was that if you just learn how to cook something and practice it, it's almost like it's not that hard
Man I've been watching kitchen's nightmare all day long for a few days and now when pewds uploads this it's like heaven to me
He needs to see Amy's baking company
@ITS OVER FOR MRBEA$T. Bro can't even spell page
i can die happy now.
i love the “mama cherry’s” episode because it just makes me happy
Been a long time since I’ve watched your channel, takes me back 👵
You and Marzia should do restaurant reviews wherever you go, it would be fun. Especially when Bjorn can start eating food 🤣 babies reactions to food are the best
