So many of the comments here are so ridiculously negative! Yes, a 67 year-old man can’t sound like he did when he was 30! What do you expect! But he’s all still there, in the spirit of things, and he looks fantastic for his age. His recorded music and legacy speaks for itself. I’m grateful for the color he added to the musical footprint of the Eighties. Keep it up, Paul Young, and thank you!
Respect to Paul, still giving it his all!! And we know how good he can be. I mix this together with just being grateful to be able to see him perform now. Thanks RUclips for this opportunity (and LORDOFTHE80S)!!!

People pretending they're perfect and wouldn't age if they were a singer because their life choices would have been so much better is pretty much exactly what social media is for lol. He's human. Some people die at 27 due to life choices. He's a legend, give him a break.
@@martindeandrade1275 This isn't aging; this is improperly singing for too long. His voice is irreparably damaged. There are singers older than him who still sound quite good. It IS possible; it just isn't possible for him.
@@martindeandrade1275 he is only 67, he fucked his voice. There are PLEANTY of over 65yo singers still with their voices intact including Cher and Dolly Parton
I remember him when he was in the Q tips in the 70s. Great vocalist and performer in those years. Sad to see him having to do this when clearly he should retire.
It's not up to any of us to tell others when to give up/throw it in/retire. You might one day find yourself in the situation that others judge you and tell you to stop doing what you think you have to do. Think about it.
I'll give him credit. Some parts of his singing still sound like the 80s Paul Young. But other parts are pretty rough. It's just such a fun upbeat song that its hard to not like it.
Blondie once sang ‘Die Young, Stay Pretty’ … I think that just about sums up most of these artists from the past who are ruining their own legacy by not knowing when it’s time to leave the party.
Listen to Daryl Hall sing this very song that he wrote with John Oates in Daryl's house. There is no comparison. All these years I only knew Paul Young's version, but Hall & Oates is just a completely different experience.
He is singing live... Fair play him. Most bands i go and see are from 80/90 and there voices are shot, but still a fab show... Rob Halford sounds like the 90s still but he is an anomoly lol...
That was truly fuckin painful and if you're prepared to put money in his pocket and pay just to see him...regardless of how he sounds, then fair play to you...but you've got more money than sense
Sad to see (or more to the point sad to hear) but to be hoest he sounds better here than he did when I saw him live. I saw Paul in 2016 touring with Go West and Nik Kershaw, I was excited to see him live as I loved his songs and voice in the 80's but I couldn't believe what I was hearing or seeing. He couldn't' hold a single note and the way he moved around stage I honestly thought he was drunk, so I figured that's probably why he sounded so bad. I did some research the next day and, well OK he might have had a drink or two before he came on stage that night, but it turns out his voice is shot most likely from singing incorrectly for too long. He did always sound like he was pushing some of those notes back then and I guess maybe he didn't have the strongest of voices so sooner or later that strain of singing like that without proper technique would take its toll. On the other hand Go West and Nik sounded amazing, just like they did in the 80's. Personally I'd rather rewatch videos of Paul singing these songs at Live Aid 1985. He sounded great back then.

His voice has always been weak though
Lets see how well the negative people sing even when they're young!
I don't call myself a singer and neither should he.
