Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery! Thanks for your always compelling playing and explanations of thought processes. I was wondering what had happened to Chordie. I think that in rapid passages the best "notation" other than standard is an "ID" above the struck notes such as "c - eb - f#" over the individually highlighted notes. Why? Because if the tempo is rapid, the pattern recognition is easier.

Wishes for recovery
I had similar hand surgery a few years ago. important to follow the regime set out by the physiotherapists I reckon. I've got 95%+ movement. (PS, Ben Waters said "The Fat Man" was the first piano thing he ever learned aged 14, a year later he dropped out of school and went on tour with "Shakin Stevens")
