"The Driving Instructor" sketch introduced me to Bob Newhart when I was a teenager in the late 70's. I'm Hart broken (not a spelling mistake, pun intended) at the sad news of his passing. From that first sketch I was a fan and wanted more I trolled the local record shops for more of his material but was unable to find much of it, now with the Internet I'm sure I'll be able to find more recordings of his sketches and monologues. Not only will I miss 0:02 his deadpan delivery but also his sad hound dog expression that went with his delivery. I would imagine that having been married so long that when his wife passed last year a part of him passed with her and he eventually died of a broken heart. I will still enjoy the oxygen overdose I get from laughing at your humour but it won't be the same now that your gone.
