  • Chloe performs the final movement from Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 26 with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra conducted by Lawrence Renes. The performance was recorded on 3 March 2023 at the Esplanade Concert Hall, Singapore.
"It was a very wonderful experience to work with Maestro Lawrence Renes, [SSO's guest] concertmaster Vesellin Gellev and the SSO. Maestro Renes was very patient with me to find out how I would like to play the Bruch in our first rehearsal with the orchestra. He would always make sure that I was comfortable with any adjustments or new ideas that he suggested to me.
"During the concerts, I felt that the intensity of the music was so well-kept throughout the performance and all the climaxes were brought out so beautifully that I was truly inspired and rewarded with tons of emotional satisfaction playing the Bruch with him. I also had a lot of fun communicating with Mr Gellev and the SSO through music and I felt so well supported by them. The concert was indeed very memorable for me." - Chloe

after listening to Itzhak Perlman, Hilary Hahn, Joshua Bell, Janine Janson and now you, I think this might be my favorite 3rd movement. There's a sense of perfection throughout it, however combined with that sense of cleanliness reveals the messy style of Bruch, which is lacking ever so slightly in Hahn. (Hahns performance is almost a little too perfect, and the 3rd movement has a hint of crunch that is eliminated beautifully in this version)
You executed this really beautifully, and as a violinist of the same age, I can't help but feel envious, however I understand the sheer hard work and dedication you put into this craft. Thank you for serving as inspiration for me to go practice

Did SSO offer you the reasons for Mozart's CD delay? I attended all the live Mozart's concerts (except the 2nd concerto). I could not wait too long for the release of the 3rd and the 4th concertos. Then, listening to the 4th concerto last year, transported me to another planet, one that was such a visibly improved rendition, as compared to that of her interpretation in 2017 in Zhuhai, China. Her set of Mozart concertos will be a treasured item.

An audience, a good-hearted partner of crime, in violation, recorded Chloe's magical music making, and shared it with her mainland China fans.... The poor recording, does not deter me from going to Bilibili to immerse in Chloe's lyrical BL rendition. I am happy to hear that P/BL likely will be released this year. She is super super good. Yes, I enjoy Chloe's playing and respect her work and her person very much but the word "worship" I could not use for my relation to her. I do not know her personnally and even if I would know her I could not say that I could worship her. I am a Christian person and I could only say that worshippers are persons who attend worship.😮

@@SusanneStechow-oo7zi I'm Christian, but I don't think he or she meant it in such a way. I'm glad you're passionate tho lol.

I haven't a clue about genealogy and the terminology it uses.
My parents bought me a Philips stereo record player for Christmas in 1973. It was second hand, but I didn't care or even realise at the time.
I remember my dad playing Bruch on it and my mum saying it's too loud. It was. We used to have endless family outings cut short owing to my dad's short temper.
He was ill. But we don't know it at the time...
It was 'normal pressure hydro encephalitis': a build up of fluid surrounding his brain. He used to lose his temper over seemingly the most childish of things...
But he was still the best dad.
A following Christmas he built me a balsa wood flying model aircraft.
The ones with an engine. It was a beautiful job. Red & blue, and he spent the entirety of his short break from work building it.
Christmas 1978, my dad 'made' me choose an arc-welder as my present (I usually only got one present for most Christmases) and boy was that a horrific winter!
The first Thursday at school in the new year, we were playing football outside on a field about one mile away from the school building.
Our teacher made the decision to cut the match short. The temperature plummeted to -11°C and it was a struggle for us to actually get back to the changing room!
My dad built us a sledge from an old bed frame, using the arc welder I was bought for Christmas...
    It was brilliant!
My dad was a polymath. One of the three truly clever people who I have met.
He devoted his entire life to his kids. He absolutely adored me. I helped him build a brick garage when I was seven. Mixing the concrete for the foundation and the mortar for the brickwork.
    Oh, the geaneology bit?
His mum's maiden name was 'Hartley' and her cousin was the Hartley Bandmaster of Titanic fame.
When my dad passed away, I found out he was an excellent pianist too.
But he was too busy spending his time with his kids for it to ever surface in conversation.
When he was very ill with his encephalitis, he was admitted to hospital.
A few days before he passed away, I heard him say to my sister about me "What a lovely, lovely man"
And this is why listening to this piece has me sobbing my heart out. I still expect the music to jump at the part where my dad scratched it when he lost his temper x

    Nuevamente me he emocionado
    Con unas notas dulces
    y violentas...
Con un violín que se queja
    y llora con la marea....
De nuevo lo digo a los 4 vientos
    sólo tu dulce belleza
    Iguala tu inigualable talento...

You could turn the volume off, if you're a musician who's put enough effort in your craft in your life, you'd still recognize by her facial expressions and her body movements/swings that she's nailing this concerto effortlessly, as if the concerto was a part of her and she just expresses it out. Outstanding human being.
