He captures a classic slapstick vibe as he bumbles his way through the movie that is 🤌
This is such a fun film and Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe have a great chemistry. A sequel would be awesome
This and LA Confidential are the two movies teh Crowe has said he would do a sequel to if one came up.

Nowhere Fast Fact: The project was initially proposed as a series, but was re-tooled as a film after the plot seemed to be going nowhere.
Casting Notes Fact: Principal talents Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling were both child actors who dropped out of high school to pursue their careers and never had formal training in acting.
Location Location Fact: Downtown Atlanta doubled for 1970's Los Angeles during filming. Prop cars were given California plates and a car was painted to resemble a 70's era L.A. cab: "Hollywood Taxi Co."
Automobile Enthusiast Fact: Jackson Healy's (Russell Crowe) car is a 1968 Oldsmobile Toronado. Misty Mountain (Murielle Telio) is driving a blue 1977 Pontiac Firebird Sky Bird and has a "MISTY M" license plate. The red Mustang with white convertible top is a 1967 with a 289 and factory a/c.
Ryan Gosling stammering when he finds the dead body (an uncredited cameo by Robert Downey Jr.) is an homage to classic movie comedy team Abbott and Costello (BTW you should consider watching "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein" for Halloween), and the punch combination Russell Crowe uses in his fight with Keith David is an homage to Russell Crowe's climactic fight with Joaquin Phoenix in "Gladiator."
When Russell Crowe broke Ryan Gosling's arm! (That scream!) I laughed so hard. They're so great in this movie! I wish, they would make a sequel!
A sequel would be great but I would be just as happy seeing them in another movie together. I think they are real friends and enjoy each others company, it’s why they were so good together.

One of the best comedies out there - maybe even the bestest, lol. The toilet scene and Nixon gag are definitely the funniest ones I´ve possibly ever seen. :)
I just love the scene where they dump the body into the dinner party. A really great gag.
I remember sitting down, on a whim, to this one a few years back. I walked away with that feeling like I just discovered a gem buried in a box in grandma’s basement.

Such a fun movie, it's a shame it didn't get the promotion it deserved. I watched it on a flight and couldn't stop laughing, could have been a cool candidate for a sequel.

While a sequel hasn't come to fruition (yet, fingers crossed) there were very early talks about what a sequel would look like and, according to Russell Crowe, it would've been titled
"The Nice Guys: Mexican Detectives".

It's too obscure for a reaction video, and its limited budget shows, but it was some powerful and moving performances that make it worth checking out on your own.

You're definitely right about Ryan Gosling's comedy chops, but when I think of some of his other great roles (including the protagonist in Drive and the musician in La La Land), the word that comes to mind is versatile.
"Dad, there's like whores here and stuff."
So many people love to say Hollywood doesn't make enough original movies these days, but then a great original movie like "The Nice Guys" comes along and they all decide they're too good for it.
This is why this film is so criminally underrated. It deserves a sequel so bad!

Russell Crowe gained a bunch of weight for this role because he thought Healy should look like a big, burly brawler type.

One of the funniest buddy cop action comedy movies ever made!
There were talks of a Sequel but due to the poor box office performance, $70 million dollars against a $50 million dollar budget, it was cancelled.

Gosling stopped smoking after this movie because he had to light up every time the filming started, he didn't even want to see another cigarette. He suggested to quit just smoke one right after another until you can't stand it.

I agree with what you said about gosling and Crowe completely but I must say that angourie rice was great also. I think she held her own with two seasoned actors. Imo anyway.

I love this movie almost as much as I love "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" (also by Shane Black), which is just more of the same, really, but it came out in 2005. Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer in the lead roles. HEAVY recommend!!

I love this movie, but these clips are too short and incoherent for me to enjoy this reaction. I know it's tricky with copyright but I've seen other reactors pull it off with this movie.

Holy cow, what is wrong with the audio? It's popping non stop in the first two minutes of the actual movie. You released this in this state? Fix it and reupload, because this is unwatchable in its current form.
We addressed it at the beginning and also in the pinned comment. It goes away at 11 min mark. There is no way to fix it. This has never happened before.
