Yeah it's no big deal really, everyone finds love at different points in their lives. Myself, I'm 25 and never dated anyone. I could've dated in high school but didn't really care enough to do it. It's kinda the same still for me now. I could go out and strike up a conversation with a woman but I really don't care atm. I'm happy with working for 40 hours a week, coming home and talking/playing games with friends and gymming. I'd be perfectly fine being alone for the rest of my life too. I don't want kids and I love living alone/having my own space I don't have to share with anyone. Whatever happens, happens

sttonep IKR. Crying over a bad day is not ducking petty either. If you have been a man than im sure you would know it builds up as you keep hiding your emotions than one day it's just too much and you let it all out from when you kept hiding it for even months or years or whatever. Something petty would be your brother wants to play the xbox after you have been on for 8 hours or some sh*t crying over a bad day and especially over a movie is not weak. Infact if you cry over a movie then atleast you have emotion and it's not sad or depressed crying.
You don't need to 'man up' for such things. There are petty things though but not those things

But now, the dream came through - I do have a loving girlfriend and I love her so much, sometimes I can't believe that, all those years are just as clear as it was yesterday, but it's a past now. @@dishingoutls8137 gender roles and gender stereotypes are two different things. Gender roles are behaviours learned by a person as being appropriate for their 'group'. Men and women have different qualities in some things, you can see that in many species. But gender stereotypes is something that we as human beings created and that can be (as you probably saw in the video) toxic and alarming. Gender stereotypes have made men scared to show feelings because 'It's not manly enough'. Gender stereotypes have made men scared to dress a certain way or do a job they like because 'it's not manly enough'. That doesn't have to do with feminism not accepting the differences between men and woman. Of course there are differences between men and women, but those are called gender differences, not gender roles or gender stereotypes. Gender stereotypes are just oversimplified images of how a person or group should be and/or act. That's something that changes over time and cultures. Gender differences on the other hand are cognitive, unchangeable and biologic. So yes there are differences between men and women, but it has nothing to do with gender roles or stereotypes.

I will just post my other comment here and then add a note to you personally.
" Because for men in our species popularity with the opposite sex is determined by the number and/or quality of his partners. And the popularity of a woman is determined by her appearance. This is related to the fact that even an ugly guy can get laid a lot and even a hot guy can stay a virgin. And your popularity equals to your social status.
We are very competitive animals and the different treatment is just part of how different our sexual strategies biologically. There is no conspiracy against men, lol. This is also the reason why most virgin guys, even those who are "ashamed" about their status, would rather stay virgins than hire a hooker and experience sex. They don't really give a fuck about sex, they care about their subjective social status in their own head and they wouldn't feel that they "won" by buying sex. "
I at some became fed up with all this nonsense, about how our emotions work in a primitive way. So I just lost my virginity with a hooker, then slept with other two. After that it became much easier to find a girl to date. I learned that sex isn't such a big deal. But you can't stop putting it on the pedestal until you actually experience it by yourself. It is overrated and not worth suffering over not getting it. If you aren't skilled in sex it is also very possible that it wouldn't feel even as good as masturbation. There are a lot of things in life that are more meaningful and enjoyable, just do them.

If men cry, get anxious, depressed, whatever....they are supposed to “man up.” But for most people after sharing their frustrations, feelings, etc, it can be cathartic. I think men have problems venting, because they look at it as complaining, and if there’s not a solution, what’s the point? But sometimes it’s hard to get men to share their real emotions/feelings about things......so women are ignorant to what’s really going on in his head.

matt d me having to cook and clean for my boyfriend and him not having to do the same for me has nothing to do with biology. It may seem nuts, but it still happens. Just as people still expect him to provide the money in the household. Or how he can’t say he suffers from depression, or how Im told I don’t have to go to the gym or how our friends come over and never share the XBox controller with me despite me being a player myself, how I’m ridiculed for wearing dark clothing and he’d ridiculed for wearing light one. It’s “small” things that affect us in big ways. The only thing that counts in the biologically different is in what role we play in the reproductive system. Or brains are no different, our emotions are not different (you can suffer form depression as much as I can, and you should be more than allowed to express it and get treatment), our taste are only different due to culture. Biology is not as extensive as people try to make it out in order to defend gender roles. Biology is quite simple. There are even laws regulating certain parts of women’s bodies with no biological defense.
This is why I actually think it would be great for men and women to sit down and talk about the pressures they feel, because we’d all be so surprise to learn how alike we actually are.

I loved how all of them hugged at the end. I keep on telling survivors, that rejoice in the fact that you SURVIVED. You ARE NOT in the past anymore. You survived, you are loved and you will thrive. Nothing spells revenge on your abuser who tried to destroy you like a life well lived.

Damn... What the guy at 4:01 says hits close to home for me. Ive been struggling with the aftermath of an abusive and vindictive ex girlfriend, and he said exactly what I needed to hear.

readysetnogo I’m sorry to hear that. My first love ended up becoming abusive. And for a year I put up with it because in our early relationship, she was a different girl. She loved me, and treated me very well. But towards the middle of the relationship, she just... changed. Completely. She manipulated me, tormented me, played with my emotions, used my kindness, and abused me mentally and emotionally. She never hit me, but she’d push me around sometimes. I suppose I stayed for as long as I did because I kept dreaming of a day where the old her would return, and everything would be okay again. But she never did return. So, I left her. I couldn’t handle the pain of watching the love of my life get worse every single day. But, she pursued me. Promised me she would fix everything. I gave her another chance. For a while, things did seem to be normal again. But only a couple months later, the relationship was worse than it already was before. Everything she did to me, she would do it worse somehow when it seemed impossible to even beat that. I begged her everyday, even before I broke up with her the first time, for her to love me. I begged and begged. I begged for everything to be normal again. I didn’t want to have to leave her because her and I had so much planned. She taught me how to kiss, how to hold someone, and even how to love. But for some reason she was the one who ended up falling short. But even after many attempts of begging, she would revert back to her ways after a temporary fix. So, I had to leave again. This time for good. And so far it’s been 5 months since I left her. To this day, I still regret leaving. Even though she hurt me, something inside of me still wants her. Still loves her. I dated another girl after her but she ended up leaving me for someone else. I do have a crush now, and she knows I like her, but she has no interest in dating me. So here I am. Alone. Again. While my ex gets to be happy with another man. And a part of me is jealous. A part of me just wants to hold and kiss her like I used to. I miss the old her, not the new her. I just wish she never changed. I could still be loved, and she’d still receive all of mine. I wouldn’t have to worry about dying alone, and I could have a future with her. I don’t know. But yeah, I just thought I’d share my story. Sorry for the long comment.

I am sobbing at these confessions.. I really feel for men, the pressure to always be strong and never show emotions is so bad

      Savage It’s not that bad.
We have testosterone for a reason.
The only bad thing is this modern culture of breeding weakness into men while praising a caricature of male behavior for women.
This has created a whole generation of people with mental problems and torn families.
We need to turn back to the way we used to be.

@@honourandtradition8078 if you think showing emotions or being vulnerable is weak then, you are wrong.Vulnerability is not winning or losing, it's having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.

Savage Nothing could be further from the truth.
A man’s job is to protect his family otherwise he loses his authority as head of the family.
Being vulnerable is the opposite of that. The man must be a rock, the foundation of the family and the woman is the one who will help her husban with his flaws and they together will make sure the family will grow strong and united.
That is the way of our ancestors, that is western tradition.
I spit on anything that aims to pervert that.

I really hope my generation raises our sons better. I hope we teach them that they are valid despite their relationship status, that being vulnerable and weak aren't the same, and that they can let their guard down without having their trust betrayed.
