I've had my heart set on a 2022 TLX Type S for some time, which of course is the superior car, but when my 06 Acura TL died several months ago (blown transmission no surprise) I really had to re-assess my priorities. With two kids in college and shuttling them and their stuff back and forth...the Camry XSE hybrid's combination of reliability, price, MPG, spaciousness and sportiness made the decision a no brainer for me. Yes, I gave up AWD, a beautiful interior/exterior and stellar handling/performance, but I also will be getting 44 MPG and not have to buy premium fuel.

I.e. I have a 2015 Subaru Forester and have been upgrading it over time. The main upgrades being speakers, infotainment, leatherette seat covers, led lights in front and rear, and a thicker rear sway bar. I also plan to upgrade the wheels and tires in the near future. The dash-to-axle ratio on the TLX alone makes it look a LOT better than most FF-based sedans. A longer front end conveys sportiness and luxury.

Absolutely worth it for the Acura. Toyota's Camry and Avalon need major redesigns, especially, God help us, the front of both cars. Yikes!

when will Toyota stop with the piano black? It makes the interior look cheap and dated.

Bought my wife the TLX Aspec last year after selling her 13 year old TL, both are incredible car but the TLX has such a nice ride, one thing I like as well is that you don’t see very many on the road compared to the Lexus IS

Why don’t I understand this comparison? The New Lexus ES is based on the Avalon now.

man I hope that I would never get a new car that have been tested! Because the most important thing that the manufacturer says on their cars manual it’s “do not press the gas pedal more than 50% until you have reached 1000 miles or 500 miles”
most of this cars will not last 100,000 miles just because of this.

@Richard Favreau but the Accord is quicker 0-60 than an IS350 F-sport though

I can't wait for a 2021 Accord 2.0L sport/Touring compared to 2021 TLX non-type S Technology/Aspec/Advanced packages. Driving dynamics and cabin comparisons. The Accord 2.0L is such a fun zippy affordable reliable sedan but dang the 2021 TLX broader haunches and more sporty back end with a more comfortable premium interior would definitely sway me since I don't need a family-mobile. Accord's more spacious cabin and larger trunk is perfect for those whom need a spunky daily driver to haul the family around yet do not want to jump on the SUV/CUV bandwagon.
