      Either way 0-60 and quarter mile performance is almost identical between the ZF A9 and Honda A10. Check out C&D tests between the pre facelift Odyssey in a lower trim ZF A9 and higher trim Honda A10.

    • @ayushmalpeddi2793
      @ayushmalpeddi2793 5 месяцев назад

      Nope, performance would have been identical. Check out C&D tests results between 2018 Odyssey ZF 9 speed and Hondas 10 speed. 0-60 and 1/4 are within .1 second of each other. Even fuel economy is basically identical. 10 speed only shows big improvement when you stomp on the pedal. It's quicker and smoother to respond because its logic is better. But in a drag race you won't notice an improvement.
      After 8 gears, more gears won't be that beneficial for performance or mpg. For example, 6th gen Camaro 8 vs 10 speed have pretty identical acceleration till 110mph. After that there is a slight difference because the 10 speed has an extra gear to stay in its power band. But again it's negligible throughout the 1/4 mile. Also mpg between 8 and 10 speed are less than 1mpg apart.

I purchased a new 2010 TL Tech SH-AWD (don't ever recall there being a 2010 A-SPEC, and it looks like the one featured here was wearing aftermarket exhaust tips/finishers) with a 6spd manual and replaced it with a 2019 A-SPEC V-6 SH-AWD after the TL was totaled in a collision caused by a 16 y/o. As fast as that TL was, I believe that even though my 2019 is rated with less horsepower and has a slightly smaller engine displacement, that the 2019 is quicker. I've driven the 2nd gen as a dealer loaner and as much as I like how quick it is, displacement of the V-6 over the I-4 turbo, along with the 2nd gen's heavier curb weight, I felt would prevail.

    The TL SHAWD 3.7L (the silver car) when properly launched will run 0-60 in 5.2 with the MT. These tests only demonstrate one facet of comparative linear performance from a dig. For example, can we really say the car that traps first is the fastest when the losing car is actually running faster at the finish? Yes per that selected race distance, but mostly No. Extend the race and the losing car will overtake to win. Torque & traction wins the short sprints, but top end speed goes to superior hp-to-weight-ratio, to gearing & to lowest coefficient of drag.

      I confirm that this TL was a 6speed with the 3.7L, look at 7:33
      (They're known to chirps at second gear)
      The only real question!!! Is how could there be a Sport Mode with this TL.
      When the only Sport Mode was in the automatic when u put it in "S" instead of "D"

The type s back then is pretty much just as fast if not slower than the last 2 generations of the v6 ASpec and this generation’s 4 cyl.
