  • What is the most expensive Warhammer model or kit available on eBay from every year of Games Workshop's history? Over Christmas I trawled through eBay to find the anti-bargains. Incredibly, I was able to find something from every year, including some absolutely classic kits!

This video is about the history of Games Workshop through their most expensive models on eBay, looking back from 1975 to 2020. I discover exclusive miniatures, classic games like Battlefleet Gothic and Gorkamorka, and many, many editions of Space Hulk, Warhammer Fantasy, and Warhammer 40k.

A fun dip test of GW history thanks for this nerdy ass research

This was of course "nerdy ass" research, not its far less desirable cousin: nerdy "ass research"

Filtering for sold items might mave been better for realistic values as you know someone was willing to pay it.

Fantasy kitbasher here: best finds I ever get on eBay are incomplete regiments, because a lot of times you will find someone else's incomplete kitbashes they gave up on from years ago, that you happen to have the leftover pieces to finish it than if you had started from scratch. My overall goal is always to spend less than I would have if I had bought it complete or new, that way I can use the leftover money to decorate them with something stupid. Like, equipping a random chaos warrior in regiment with an axe from a bloodthirster.

I recently picked up 6 of the old metal fantasy river trolls for a touch under £100. They're going to proxy mega nobs in my snakebites army. They're my all time favourite models from Citadel/GW.

If you want that Wizard with Sub-machine check regularly as they often sell for under £100 used.

I own Boris, and I thought what I paid 15ish years ago was ridiculous, but apparently it’s only got worse.

So of you want to make a retro Chaos dwarf army, you need to be a billionaire

What you need is mantic games abyssyl dwarves, and little snakes of green stuff to make thier beard rolls. Atleast, that's my plan anyway.

Man, I love trawling eBay for intersting finds. I buy a lot of my minatures second hand - restoring them is another part of the hobby for me: Getting them from an unloved state to the place that they deseve.
My most interesting find is probably the C22 Werefox from 1985. It's about one or two heads smaller than normal infantry from that time. But the weirdest thing is that it is essentially a naked and quite busty lady with a foxes head. To my shame I have to admit that I have not painted it yet, simply because I am not sure how to make it less wierd...

PS: Yes, the C22 line is the same line with the anatomically correct werewolf...
