Your story reminds a bit of Jules Verne's novel Around the World in 80 Days. The main character, who made a bet that he would go around the world in 80 days, was one day late, but he didn't count that he earned one day traveling east. It's not exactly the same, but time can play tricks on us sometimes 😄
Yes, I remember reading that book as a child, what a thrill when he learned of the time change! Thanks for bringing back memories of a much more important change of time zones!
Actually, the name "Tonto" was applied in Spanish occupation times in Arizona to an Arizona tribe. They maintain that name to this day without comment. I think it was picked up in the "Lone Ranger" written by a guy who lived in Buffalo NY, because it had a nice ring. But "tonto" retains its meaning as "stupid" in Spanish. I would have no objection to changing it, but no move seems to be afoot in the US. The issues of Native names is a difficult one. Thanks for watching, and I hope you have a great weekend as well!
I think the modern technology makes it even more confusing. It always catches me unawares on the navigation. It was no issue when it was just a wristwatch and a map! Thanks for your comment.
Great info ❤ I always get confused about time, and I didn't even know that daylight saving time ended today😂
Personally, I think it is crazy they switch times, do they do it in Canada too?
Wonderful information. This is a great video.
Thanks so much!
Nice bridge and great fall colors. Great views from the trail. New subscriber here. Want to get to know the Grand Canyon area better.
Thanks for your comment. There is so much to see at Grand Canyon! I hope you enjoy exploring the area.

Very interesting! I didn't know the Navajo did the time change.
Yes, probably because their reservation stretches to four states, it leads to local consistency.
Oh my, this time change! The province of Saskatchewan here in Canada does not change time and when I lived there it was rather quite nice!
The US is getting ready to change daylight savings time now, what a pain in the neck the time changes can be!
@@GC-Hiker Yup, takes me a couple of days to get use to it!
That's interesting to know about it. Thanks for sharing this video with us.
Thank you for watching!

That happened to me during my recent visit. My phone would change but my Fitbit didn’t

Lol, been there, just like Tennessee, where the time zones literally go between a town, so one asks there, are you on fast time or slow time.
