When I first heard this song 40+ years ago I lost my mind. I can't get enough of listening to it. Probably one of Zeps least known, but best songs they made. If you know, you know! Rest in peace John Bonham....
I enjoyed that! Thanks for sharing. I think John would be proud and love to play your kit. 👍👍 p.s. I first heard Led Zep 1 in 1970 at age 10. I began drum lessons at age 6 and was blown away hearing "Good Times" through headphones! Good bye Ringo! LOL. I've been a fan ever since by my drumming is no where your abilities. Again, thanks for sharing.
I know I'm late to this party but this just came up on my feed. If I had ever wondered what Gavin Harrison's take would be on this song this video would be it. Outstanding playing! So tight and musical without clogging it up and over playing , not to mention those toms sound sooooo good.
Very nice work! As a beginning drummer, I know this is one of the most challenging songs for experienced drummers to play, and for most of us it's the holy grail if we get even part way there. Again, very nice work. Bonzo would be pleased.
3:46 THIS is what I came here for. So far you are the only YT drummer showing top of set that does this MASSIVE ICONIC FILL that denotes this song. I’ve had it stuck on replay in my garage for 1/2 and hour and get chills every time Bonzo pounds this out. Thanks man! When I get my old ekit setup I’m gonna beat this fill into me.
Fortunately I still hit with two arms and two feet. I don't change setup, regardless if I play Max Roach, Garibaldi or Portnoy. Bopkit is in another location. Notice the absence of a gong and getting by with only a 22" kick. Thanks for watching! :)
Hi Mike. I "make" them myself with skilled hands, ears, and the use of Izotope RX, removing the drums from the original. Same thing with my other videos. Not always doable, depending on how the recording was made, but for these purposes it works.
@@ricklang_drummer Thanks Rick, I make my own too using the rock band/guitar hero stems and Audacity but Zep never licensed the stems so I had to rely on a cover version that I could remix. I will check out Izotope RX. Thanks for the idea!
Seemingly flawless, but the early part of its timing seems odd. I don't have such a great ear to know if Bonham was running fast or slow in those parts, but that seems to be the only thing missing.
I completely agree. JB should have sized down from his ordinary 26, 15, 16, 18 to a more modest 20, 10, 12, 14, which is my normal setup. Unfortunately I can't tell him that to his face.

You are right Joe. My main goal is of course to play drums to make millions before I turn 50. Just a few million more subscribers needed, then I might retire. Thanks for visiting!:)
Just Passing through and caught this. Dude that was awesome. You brought out hits that I didn't even remember hearing LOL Great Job

Ive seen tens of fool in the rain covers... You not only nailed the technique, you smashed the feel. Jb would be proud. So good 👍

This is great, the Bonham shuffle is amazing! Great drumming!
Can't wait to see more!! 👍👍
Thanks:) Just started with these. I might do requests. Probably something with DT or Rush next time.
I think you mean the Purdie Shuffle..but who cares..
@@georgesigalas738 if we were being technically this is technically Bonham’s take on the purdie shuffle. So bonham shuffle kinda works either way haha
My favorite led zeppelin song. Great job! Nice drums too!
This really is one of Led zeppelin best songs!!
Yes it is!
Nailing all the different fills and going to the ride at end of the bridge.… great!!!
I want that snare !! Awesome sound....and did I mention the ghost notes.....spectacular !!
ZZEPPLIN....... one of their best !!
Simply..... WOW
you're a great drummer..not many people can do this..keep it up!!!

Great Cover! That is one of my favorite songs with just legendary feel by the master, and you played it flawlessly. Well done.
Freat cover! Greetings from Brazil!
I love the sound of those drums
Nevermind the critics... Great Job. Rick.. (Nicky Pappagallo).

This is absolutly, amazing! I love this song - Great drumming!
Amazing, but I think the greatness of the song is in its simplicity.
Simple, eh? Ever try to play it? What exactly is simple about it?
awesome drum tone! like a John Bonham

Glad to hear it:) Although I don't play the fill exactly as JB did it. Just my take on it. Happy 2023!
Solid! Nice man!!!!!!!!
Nice work! That transition at 02:11 is cool.
Sooooooo gooooood
Tasty TASTY fills 👌🏼
A job well done! Keep ROCK'n
Awesome drumming job and sound...!
freaking awesome!
Nailed it ❤
I thought this was really good! Nice, tight and clean.
Snare sounds great.
Really good
Bravo Rick! Very well done. Excelente trabajo de bateria
Early on, I sensed a bit of rushing and lagging, but you got control of that as it proceeded. Nice job on the Samba part. Overall, very good.
Very nice! Nailed it! Well done!
Spot on 🤣🔥
Great tone!
Amazing drumming Rick !! Well done !!
Flawless...well done !
Cool fills!
😎👍❤️🥁❤️
Well done. Crisp and Clean..Cheers
Awesome !! Enjoyed it !!
Badass
Awesome!
Beautiful Shuffles 😄
Nailed it..
Good work Ricko, as always! /Mr Bass
KEREN BANGGGG!!!!!!!
Solid cover. Subscribed!
Nice Job!
Excelente! 👏
Nice cover!!
And Imagine John created his magic with half the kit shit this guy has!!!! He was a legend!!

nice sounding snare. Can you enlighten us about it?
Thanks:) Added some gear info in the description. Snare varies depending on mood. A COB for the Toto one for example. Here a Premier 1036 COS.
Nice cover!
Awesome, right up till you added your own flavor. This sing needs no flavor. Just my opinion. I CAN’T EVEN COME CLOSE!!! bravo👍🏻
Snyggt !
Prettay, prettay, prettay...
Damned great!
Can I please have your snare? I did say please.
That snare is sexual
👏
Where did you get the drumless track? I can't find it anywhere, other than a cover version.

Great job! A very difficult song to play properly.
Seemingly flawless, but the early part of its timing seems odd. I don't have such a great ear to know if Bonham was running fast or slow in those parts, but that seems to be the only thing missing.
Bonzo always played just behind
close... till the crescendo
Wish i could do the snare rolls
Nice pocket!
You're ahead of the beat on the first 12/8 section with the ride bell .
Check out the drum kit ...and Bonzo's..enough said ....less is more ?

Too many different crash cymbals that are not in the original song. KILLER job otherwise
It took me 2 months to learn this grove and I still haven't perfected it.
Nice, but how are those arms working, there's no body, hell not even a head, you can do magic.
Indeed. Due to the fixed camera height it's a trade-off between seeing more of me or more of the kit. I always choose the kit.
C'est très bien ! Mais ce n'est pas la peine d'en rajouter ! Il y en a suffisamment créé par Bonham !
Do you pay a lot of Rush?
Well, they’re not Ludwig and Paiste, but the’ll do.
Nice try
yea.
technically your pretty good. and im not hating. but the feel just isnt there.
This is awful. Did you have an ear infection when you listened to the original version? This is Bonham, not some high school jazz band version.
