Please tell me how that is even possible????? That just Fucked my head up🤯! Kyle’s playing is effortless, in time, on beat, as close to the original as humanly possible, doesn’t veer off, his drums sound quality is outstanding, he’s having fun while playing. The only thing I see is there’s always haters, and they will never give credit where credit is due. Also, people are intimidated by Kyle’s playing, BECAUSE it is on point and it comes so natural and easy for him. I’d like to see these drummers on here attempt Rosanna! It’s actually not an easy song to do. Just look at the ones who have. There’s only one other drummer that got it right. All the others goofed it!!
i have a ton of my students just destroying this beat. the key is to just play bass on 1 and 3 and the back beat on 2 and 4, like a really simple beat. apply the hand ostinato of RLR etc. and practice that every day for 3 minutes straight, starting at VERY slow speeds (you can use youtube to slow down the song if its too boring to metronome). another good song to try this against would be katatonia - shifts. its slower. do NOT worry about volume of ghost note or hi hat moellering or anything like that. let that come naturally and later. after a week or 2 this will be in grained. do NOT rush it. you can THEN start purposely adding extra bass drums and exploring filling opportunities. and it wont disrupt your ghost note at all. I can play almost anything, including double bass licks under this now LOL. do NOT skip the break in period!
@@Spenjira: I covered this song a couple of weeks ago, and I would love to hear your thoughts. I did not try to do it like Jeff though, I went with a variety of shuffles that I like 😅😂 ruclips.net/video/pjI1P7SPzso/видео.html
He missed them all. What are you talking about? Watch Jeff Pocaro himself explain it. Now, to be fair, this guy here did start adding those grace notes later on in the song. But those grace notes are single notes (suppose to be).
I have to comment again. Your shuffle is out of the world. So loose and smooth. It swings and is full of dynamic ghost notes and is just incredible. Great job.
There's always been such joy for me growing up and listening to this song. Playing it on the drums over the years has given me an even bigger joy. Please do more Toto, some Journey, and The Alan Parsons Project. That's some seriously good music from my favourite time period.
Wow! Outstanding! The snare whispers are the core of the groove and the song isn’t the same without them. I felt the music man, that is what a musician does! ✌️😎👍💕
My dad was a drummer and he used to throw his sticks in the air and catch them like you did a couple times. Just takes me back to watching him drum and trying to learn what he was doing,, good stuff man very good cover. not to mention i love that song.
Always a pleasure to watch Kyle. He always looks like he's having a great time playing, whereas A-Yeon (while VERY easy on the eyes) always looks like she's going for perfection without the emotion. I haven't seen one of Kyle's covers yet where he wasn't grinning ear-to-ear, and showing what a blast he's having throughout the whole song. Keep it up Kyle!
Jeff Porcaro is smiling from heaven, bro. Well done. Every time I see someone post a cover on Rosanna I know within 20 seconds if they have it or not. You nailed that initial shuffle like a champ. Hahah!
Been learning drums for 18mtjs, love watching your vids, learn heaps and your smile and fact you look like you are having fun is infectious!!!THANKYOU!!
This is my favorite of all the drum covers of this song. You'd think this song would be so easy, I mean, it's just a shuffle, right? But, too many drummers never GET that Porcaro feel. Well done Kyle.
And dang, those crashes are bright and crisp. Love it. Great job on the ghost notes and how you subtlety built them up over the song the way Porcaro did it.
ABSOLUTELY F**KING PHENOMENAL JOB! My favorite 'Toto' song and I try to at least listen to it once a day, along with "Suddenly Last Summer" by 'The Motels'! Again.... awesome job man! 👍😍👍
Much more difficult to get the swing and feel on this song over and above just technically playing the right notes. VERY nice work man...one of my all-time favorite players and epic drum tracks. His father Joe was one of my instructors back in the day. Love the mounted tom setup as well. You not a fan of the Bo-Diddedly bass drum figure on the back beat?
This is a perfect example of why you stay in your wheelhouse. If you can’t make those ghost notes clean and feel good, stay away. Loved the Alice in Chains cover of “Would” though.
Jeff was a genius in his subtlety, while you played this in a less subtle way it's still a really nice cover of a song that's harder to get right than most beginning to intermediate players realize. Nicely done, I'm sure Jeff would have enjoyed it too! 👍
Absolutely love this song & beat! Jeff Pocarro is a amazing drummer! Kyle bro damnnnnn! You absolutely killed it! Jeff is watching from above and I'm totally sure that he approves your dedication to this song & shuffle beat! Ride cymbol bell/ride combo is epic!
Absolutely love his drumming. He absolutely loves what he does and it shows.
Jesus Christ!!!!!!!! The sound of perfection!!! What a groove... completely effortless. Bravo Kyle!!!
One of the most severely underrated RUclips drummers! Much love!
I agree fully with you on that!
This is a highly skilled drummer with awesome feel/groove with attention to fine detail. 👍

Finally a drummer who plays it note for note with an authentic Porcaro feel!!! Thanks for that hard work you put in to get this right! Rock on!
I agree 💯
Não preciso falar mais nada, você já disse tudo!!!
Check Michael alba
Those ghost notes in the triplets give me such a rough time. You crushed it.
Maybe it's just the sound mix, but the ghost snares were a bit overpowered....a bit distracting

I would be happy to let the left hand bounce if I could get everything else down
He missed them all. What are you talking about? Watch Jeff Pocaro himself explain it. Now, to be fair, this guy here did start adding those grace notes later on in the song. But those grace notes are single notes (suppose to be).
The Rosanna shuffle, the sickest drum grove ever. Freaking nailed it!! Easily one of the best covers of that song!
The shuffle on the ride with alternating bell to give it quarter note feel is SO GODDAMN FUNKY
Yea I really like how the first go around on the ride he was on the beat then the second time he went to the off beat . Really nice !!!
@President Joe Shmoe he’s definitely accenting on the and of the quarter notes which is not on the beat therefore being the off beat
Which part are you guys referring to? He always accents all 8th notes on the bell, every time he goes on the ride..
Kickass. I love it that you notice how Jeff took down the prechorus a notch or two in tempo before his signature fill. Great work, dude.
Long live Jeff Porcaro
Too Late i guess
Ironic
He died? I didn't even know he was sick !
Man, that snare pops so nice and tight!!! And great job on the cover, sounds really great!!
Definitely the best drum rosanna cover in youtube. This is exact the same than original.
I love the drums on this song. Fantastic job....
One of the best Rosanna covers so far. Almost like Porcaro performed it for Toto.
I have to comment again. Your shuffle is out of the world. So loose and smooth. It swings and is full of dynamic ghost notes and is just incredible. Great job.
Was really pleased with the mixing in this, the panning of the mics were great ❤🔥
Da ex batterista esecuzione perfetta . Complimenti .🥁🪘🥁🪘🥁🪘🥁🪘
Love your Purdie shuffle. You did this song justice.
Not really, nice fills.
Outstanding! Kyle is one of the best RUclips drummers...love his style!

Great job on the shuffle and the sound of the mix in perfect..
Amazing!
So many things happening at the same time. The shuffle on the cymbals, the ghost notes on the snare.... Jeff Porcaro was a God!
This gentleman right here is a damn good drummer! This was excellent!!!
congratulations man! Without a doubt the best drum cover I've ever seen
Kyle Stix he beat the hell out of this, I'm sure Jeff would be smiling. Great work my friend
Always a pleasure to watch Kyle. He always looks like he's having a great time playing, whereas A-Yeon (while VERY easy on the eyes) always looks like she's going for perfection without the emotion. Jesus... Kyle! you've got the chops! Yeah!
Nice playing, but most impresses me is that I can see how much pleasure he gets from playing!
Rip Jeff Porcaro. I like how this stays true to the original Toto VERSION. Jeff would approve.
I like it when someone is enjoying the solo and they know they are in the zone, his smile says it all! Good job man!
Great Drumming and Feeling.
AND a Drummer who is Smiling while Playing.
Thats a really, realky big big Bonus.
Awesome Buddy
The BEST DRUM COVER OF ROSANNA that i've ever seen! You nailed it !!!!
Perfect!! Jeff would be definitely very proud of you.
Been learning drums for 18mtjs, love watching your vids, learn heaps and your smile and fact you look like you are having fun is infectious!!!THANKYOU!!
That drumming swings! Jeff Porcaro was such a great time keeper/ percussionist. Your drumming rendition of Rosanna was spot on. I enjoyed it.
This is my favorite of all the drum covers of this song. You'd think this song would be so easy, I mean, it's just a shuffle, right?
But, too many drummers never GET that Porcaro feel. Well done Kyle.
Its got that Porcaro Snap, love it bro
Killed it ! Class 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
La claque....c'est parfait....ça paraît tellement simple .... meilleure cover de ce morceau et de loin, COMPLIMENTS !!!!!
And dang, those crashes are bright and crisp. Love it. Great job on the ghost notes and how you subtlety built them up over the song the way Porcaro did it.
Very good job, omg!! 😱
This song is so hard to play on drums! This is SO satisfying to hear. 😍👌
...with a big smile on his face and all...great job
ABSOLUTELY F**KING PHENOMENAL JOB! My favorite 'Toto' song and I try to at least listen to it once a day, along with "Suddenly Last Summer" by 'The Motels'! Again.... awesome job man! 👍😍👍
You look very happy, Kyle. I am happy for you and Toto. I knew Jeff and Joe back in the day from MI in Hollywood. You are killin. More please
Mr Kyle McGrail killed it once again ladies and gentlemen! Great job!
This tune has SO MUCH going for it, from every musical angle. First video of yours I've come across, and you did it some awesome justice!
So true, can’t pick a favourite part of the song because it’s all so damn good. Great cover here as well
This dude is really good. Great chops, great pocket, great groove!
Jeff Porcaro would be very proud I think. Probably the most authentic drum solo I've ever heard.
You rock with the speed kick your a great drummer.
Man Jeff is impressed.... awesome
Top notch on them skins! My fave toro song & you did more than justice!!!!! 💕❤️
Fantastic solo drum..
your groove is consistent like your smile in every moment of your covers!!
Crisp and clean. Nice!
Brother you blew me and all my friends away. You sir are excellent
This is a perfect example of why you stay in your wheelhouse. If you can’t make those ghost notes clean and feel good, stay away. Loved the Alice in Chains cover of “Would” though.
He plays it just like the studio version, starting with no ghost notes and gradually adding them in throughout the intro and into the first verse.
Best drum cover
Incredible. 🥁
One of the best covers of this song on Utube I've seen🤟🥁🇳🇿
My favourite by u so far. unbelievable job.
Saints of Los Angeles by Mötley Crue!
Great job man.... love the stick flip at 1:15 !!!
Jeff was a genius in his subtlety, while you played this in a less subtle way it's still a really nice cover of a song that's harder to get right than most beginning to intermediate players realize. Nicely done, I'm sure Jeff would have enjoyed it too! 👍
Best Rosanna cover I´ve ever seen!
Excellent! This is one of my favorite songs to watch covers on..
I love the Tom setup!!
That was a joy to watch.
Very nice! I appreciate the details, especially the changing bass drums, snares, and open hihats on the chorus
Great job! I love how you always smile. Waiting for more!
Wow!! simply awesome,absolutely loved that
So fab to watch u enjoying it!😊
Great job on this cover!! You killed it from start to finish! Ya did Jeff proud bro!
This is fantastic Kyle. All your enthusiasm mixed with smooth finesse. Love it!
What an amazing job !! And what an awesome sounding snare - in fact, the audio quality of the entire video is bloody fantastic!
Perfect cover
So good! I like your drum cover!
Thank you for playing that properly. 10/10
Man that’s cleeeean! 👌👌👌
Really enjoyed this. You really seem like a drummer who truly cares about his craft and it's so satisfying to watch. I need to work on that.
Speechless......
Once again, awesome
Very well done 👏 🤟
Your work on the hi hat itself is amazing
Killed it once again

Amazing !
Those stick flips!... great playing!
I didn't know this song was so involved. Great playing.

MONEY... GREAT JOB KYLE... KILLING IT BRO.
Brilliant cover
Wow! Serious shuffle. Great job!
Rosanna is like a rite of passage from “advanced” to “pro”. You’re definitely a f-ing pro.
