Not only is John Bonham one of the most famous drummers ever, he is also the creator of some of the most iconic drum tracks ever recorded. His intro for Led Zeppelin's song Rock And Roll is one of the best examples for this. Have fun listening to Pascal's version of this famous tune.

We created a full video on how Pascal mixed the Drum Sound of this video. You can watch it for free here: artofdrumming.com/courses/mixing-iconic-drum-sounds
Finally someone who plays it correctly with all the bass drums! Absolutely fantastic playing!
Like boxing a speed bag ... for 3 minutes and 40 seconds. This is fluid athleticism on display: such endurance and finesse. Utterly remarkable. Thank you!
He is a tank for sure, amazing performance!!
What Stamina to continue the same volume of hit for that long of a period of time
Perfect description of the drumming here 🥊
FINALLY, someone got the bass drum part right! The intro, the double-handed pulse between hi-hat and snare, and all the breaks were done correctly, as so many people tend to do them wrong. But most people don't realize how much is going with the kick drum as well, and that's what really captures the original and "authentic" feel. Excellent work!
Absolutely nailed that! Not seen anything this album close in my life!!!
Not just technically proficient, you totally captured that Bonham feel. Great playing.
I think this cover is the most accurate of all times!
And the sound is just incredible!!!
Keep rocking!!!🔥🔥🤟🏻
I like hearing the isolated drums.
The gong in the background is the coup de grace of this whole video. What a flex, having a giant gong for the video, only for looks.
💪😁
Incredible cover! This beat is devilishly hard to maintain with the ghost notes on the snare throughout!!!
Yes it is with the right feel. It’s like a straightened out shuffle
Not really necessary to apply ghost note beats until you're comfortable with the groove. Oterwise a drummer will overwork it and bugger it up. Build the skillset. Play on.
Dude's right leg is getting a workout. I love how Bonham did with 1 drum what many use two for these days.
As a long time drummer the groove is hard but what I think is harder is how the song starts cause there's no count in
check out Bonhamology!
This song is all about feel. It's definitely the magic of this song and Bonham. I love big drums tuned wide open. You can hear the two heads in the kick working with each other. You can also hear the whole kit in reverberation with each other. In other words. The instrument as a whole
Nice statement!
That 👻 notes at the snare, very accurate
The only thing that is missing is that Ludwig Speed King pedal. The Bonham spirit is living in this vid!
You mean the Squeak King, as Bonzo called it?
Your most accurate recreation I think! Finally some Paistes...
Finally someone played the intro like it is.
Seriously the best cover of Led Zeppelin!
AWESOME!
This one will make you sweat.
Was thinking about this song for almost a year how noone actually plays what is on record and there are lot of videos on YT how to play eazy version but not any of them done right. Finaly I can send to all drummers that play this wrong this video. Thank you. Great job. 👍🥁❤️
Definitely agree! Bass drum pattern is on point
Awesome job on the kick especially!
Smokin !
Nice to see a fellow drummer that still plays with straight cymbal stands. 👍
Pascal for president of the beat 🥁Republik! ✊🏼
Best Ive seen since Bonzo. Bravo
Great. Finally a drummer that knows the difference between RLK and LRK triplets... Bravo!
Perfect double, get to enjoy the video of you playing this iconic drum heavy tune and, then watch and listen to the drum isolation all in one video. I’d like to see more of that.
Thanks, we’ll done.
Pascal @artofdrumming never seen anyone EVER lay down Bonham with more accuracy and discipline ever. @briantichy @jasonbonham would proud to see this...
And that's the way to man up on the bass drum by filling up the 8ths between the snare downbeat 2 and 4
Song is a right of passage to build up the groove power endurance of bass drum control and achieving the trade mark sound of the man himself
You nailed the bass drum line, is exactly as the studio version. Usually Bonz played it the easy way live. Thanks for the 'guide' I am rehearsing this song for a gig this weekend.
Awesome cover brother, spot on!! This song is exhausting to play when done correctly like this ;-)
Indeed ! 😅
Hell of a drummer.
This is incredibly good. This entire series is incredibly good. Can you guys do an Ian Paice episode?
Would love to hear The Mule & Fireball. Wow!
And bill bruford
Best cover I've seen of this song anywhere. You really nailed the ghost notes on the snare drum where most drummers will just play the quarter notes on the downbeat. Very smooth and powerful at the same time. Great job!
It’s such a punching drum like. That beginning is always a groovy slap in the face
Today I bought new headphones and the first thing I wanted to hear was that exactly drum intro. Now I'm watching you and I don't even hear any differences. Very accurate and beautiful cover! Keep on rocking!
Absolutely Nailed It. Best version of how it plays seen 'till this day.. another outsatanding version is of "kick it like Bonham"''s channel.
Nailed It!!
Songs like this make me very glad I play bass rather than drums. Great job Pascal :-)
this is so far the best i’ve heard.. sounds exactly like the original.. especially in the ending solo.. great job!
sweet! well done.
Super killer guys!!! 🥁🤘🏻🥁❤️🔥
Thanks!
Sounds perfect
INCREDIBLE MAN!!! PRECISION POWER AND SWING!!
AMAZING !!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm glad he kept it simple, reminded me of trying to overplay this song with too much cymbals, but this one was just about perfect!
Yes, you did the Drum solo just like Bonham!!! First time seeing someone do it well!!!!
2:34-2:39 One of my favorite groove fills. \,,/ Well done, Pascal.
JUST BRILLIANT.
This is the truest to the album version I've perhaps ever heard in my 40 years of listening to Led Zeppelin. Bonzo would've raised a glass to this effort!
Love to hear "Misty Mountain Hop".
That was stufreakinpendous. Great job young sir. 🤘😵🥃 Cheers!
You guys are so amazing! Brilliant drumming as always...pure perfection!🌹
ROCK N ROLL!!
I love the drum solo
Fantastic playing 👌🏻👍🏻
Goood 🔥🔥🔥
🥁Very good!
So, 0.00 to 3.38 I'm in absolute awe of this guy, thinking that there can be no finer cover of this legendary song. It's absolute perfection. Then, not being a drummer myself, when it started at 3.39 and beyond, I slipped into parent mode - wondering how Pascal's parents must have felt whilst he was practicing in his bedroom, allthoseyearsago! 😂😂😂
now i have to learn it. have played for yrs but never played exact always put my spin on it. so now playing it correctly and putting my accents in it will be awesome. you can't teach a band the beg bc most cant count.
Sounds great and excellently played!!
Amazing cover, finally a cover with ghosts notes along the entire song as Bonham did.
And your bass drum workout is wonderful.
You got my like, buddy, keep up the good work!!
This is how you do it. the ghost notes on the snare make all the difference
Great cover...bravo sir !!!
Wonderful stuff! 🙏👍
Nailed it
Awesome
Bravo! Dude fuckin nailed that shit. Impressive 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Yeah !!

Pascal, you are a great drummer. Congratulations! Nice Glyn Johns mic technic. Sounds like our lovely John Bonham. 😍😍

Top man!!!
Pascal, you simply did it. Not easy. well done!
Edit: I have come to appreciate you even more. Being fed up from the flashy majority of youtube drummers, it is quite satisfactory to me to watch somebody who seeks precision.
Superb
