Pure talent. No skimpy outfits, no silly dance routines, no autotune.
Exactly. Even though I don't know this song I agree with you. What is up with the skimpy outfits and dances? Is the talent singing or parading around?
Well, no skimpy outfits except for Annie’s (in)famous “Red Bra” performances of “Would I Lie To You” during this same 1987 tour.😁
(NOT dissing Annie - LOVE her! The only time I’ve seen a “revealing” outfit done w CLASS.)
Just pure talent
Just a stupendous voice!
Wish I could like this comment twice
10 out of 10 live performance
She has such an emotive voice. Beautiful track, beautiful song and beautiful lady
Yeah, that's her voice live... always. It's astounding.
Their absolute peak. Underrated album.
Look up the live tribute that she and David Bowie did when Freddie Mercury passed away. They sang Under Pressure together with her doing Freddie's part. She has an amazing vocal range.
She looked and sounded fabulous!
Her scaring the sh!t out of Bowie was definitely one of the highlights of the Freddy Tribute concert.... talk about captivating #Presence! o_O :)
Such a beautiful voice and so powerful. A lovely duo
I saw them live in Melbourne Australia in early 1984, along with Simple Minds. Brilliant concert!!
One of the few songs of my adolescence that make me cry, and still does...🥰
Fantastic band live
Her voice is stunning. I was lucky to see Annie Lennox and Sting in concert. Not only did they individually sing the roof off of Madison Square Garden, they blended beautifully, signing together their most popular songs. It remains in the top five most memorable concerts I've seen.
Annie and The Eurythmics were soooooo good.
How many entertainers today can hold a massive stadium transfixed with a rock ballad? I had the opportunity to see this concert and several more and ANY CHANCE you get to hear a LIVE performance (even on video) of the Eurythmics or Annie will move you - her voice just FILLS an auditorium. Simply incredible and a great couple of people in real-life as well. Thanks for this review Salvo!
Annie is so effen awesome and Dave is an excellent musician/producer.
I've never seen this. This was awesome!! Great reaction as well. Also thank you to who requested this song. The Eurythmics and Annie Lennox are always just on a higher level for me. Their creativity and talent can be mind blowing.
This particular version is included on the compilation CD 'Eurythmics Live 1983-1989', which is available in full (22 songs) on their official youtube channel. HIGHLY recommended! IMO every song on that album is better than the studio version: other highlights are 'Thorn In My Side', 'I Love You Like A Ball And Chain', 'Here Comes The Rain Again', 'Never Gonna Cry Again', and many others. Check it out!
@@Pulsar77 Sounds great! I will watch it tonight thank you so much for the suggestion!
Annie is the Real Deal. I have all Eurythmics CDs recorded to USB just for my Car. SO WONDERFUL.!
When less is more. That is Professionalism in Production.
Glad you 'dig it...🇦🇺
I can't hit play fast enough on your Eurythmics reaction videos! 😅
Annie’s stage presence is amazing, and yes they were geniuses! The Eurythmics kick ass!
She is astonishing beautiful! Please, react to Annie's solo "Why". So great lyrics, in her beautiful voice.
The guitar work in this song is absolutely flawless, the tone and note choice is perfect, it just pulls you in, the solo is brilliant, nothing over played just enough.
Annie’s voice is so powerful and never misses a beat, she has such beautiful eyes and facial features, perfect complexion, stunning to look at.
I saw the great Annie Lennox open for Sting, years ago (90s). I definitely cried.
I had the great privilege to see Eurythmics in concert in NYC in 1990 (I think) -- a medium sized venue where my boyfriend and I were able to get up close to the stage. Her voice on every single song was exactly as recorded and more. She is far and away one of the best singers (and songwriters) I've ever heard/seen -- both as a duo with Dave and by herself.
i’m 53 and have been a eurythmics and a annie lennox fan since i was 13 , i will be devastated when annie passes away.
and this is why she won best british female singer 3 times
No Play back, no funny dancers, just pure natural talent
SalvoG you are playing with my heart I love Love Love the Eurythmics so much! Annie Lennox Is Fire
No auto tune, no pitch shifting … her voice is warm rich and is in tune with the band. Auto tune takes that all away and your brain notices.
So appreciative that I got to see Annie (solo) in San Francisco back in the 90's.
She brought the house down. ✌
She's very smart and level headed woman. She has spent the years helping those in need in other countries. I have a lot of respect for her musician or not.
They were everywhere back in the day. No one can say she can't sing.
They and especially Annie are a powerhouse. So many songs that she touches our souls!
I saw them live in the late 80's. Annie's voice was better live than any recording I've heard. Such an amazing talent
I had the privilege of hearing Annie Lennox sing live with the Eurythmics and her vocal was absolutely flawless for the entire concert. I sorta liked their music before the concert, but was blown away by her performance.
That voice...then when the drums and guitar come in
I saw this tour in Melbourne Australia it was an experience. They filmed the revenge tour live in Sydney in 1987 Great band .The crowd when I saw them was fire.
There are few artists you instantly recognise by their voice Annie is one of those and Dave Stewart is a genius. You have so much to listen to first time it makes me envious.
6:16. Annie brings it all back like a true Professional. ❤
Annie Lennox , the Eurythmics in concert - absolutely, unforgettably mesmerizing
CLASS!!!👌
Eurythmics was my teenage years. Fun to see you enjoying them 30 - 40 years later.
Nothing compares these days nothing
Their albums were pretty good (understated), their live performances were just outstanding. Such class musicians.
Great artist!
L-o-v-e your reaction! I'm so smitten with the Eurythmics, they have been the backdrop to my coming of age, first loves, big emotions, joy, tears, just amazing artists.
"Dude, they are so good"..is an understatement. I have the VHS tape of this concert and every f'n song is fire. Annie's voice and stage presence is mesmerizing and Dave's musicianship is off the charts. Thanks for highlighting this performance.
I've been enjoying Annie & Dave since they were in The Tourists, waaaaaay back in the 70's 😍
Best song ever sung by Annie Lennox is "Into the West" from "Lord of the Rings." So beautiful it sends shivers through your being.
I saw the revenge tour in France in 1987. Unforgettable concert. Eurythmics is one of the best group live I've ever seen.
Finally! I've been trying for years to get reactors check out their live material, without success. Honestly, people have no idea how great they were live. Kudos to the person who recommended this to you! This particular version is included on the compilation album 'Eurythmics Live 1983-1989', which is available in full (22 songs) on their official youtube channel. IMO every song on that album is better than the studio version: other highlights are 'Thorn In My Side', 'I Love You Like A Ball And Chain', 'Here Comes The Rain Again', 'Never Gonna Cry Again', and many others!
Our ears are about to be blessed by an ❤angelic voice❤Annie.
Thank you so much for this epic reaction. I cannot believe that I had forgotten that before Annie started singing solo, she was part of this wonderful duo. By watching these reaction videos, I am being reminded of so many acts that I'd forgotten! Keep it up!
Wacky one of hers you might enjoy was a film track called love song for a vampire . Shows her powerful voice range brilliant artist
Please please listen to the Tourist's, that was their band previous to the Eurythmics. The do a great cover of Dusty Springfield's, I only want to be with you or Lonliest man in the world, also So good to be back home again. This was their roots and beginning. You can hear who they would become!
Annie has so much depth, range and power it's difficult to quantify. The singular quality that places her so far above the rest, control.
We've heard singers with power. We've heard singers with great range.
But to posses ALL of the various skills and the unique talent to wield them at will... priceless.
Would place her in the same stratosphere as a "Floor Jansen" without any disrespect.
Still technically THE BEST band I have ever seen live - summer 1983 (Sweet Dreams Tour).
Staggeringly beautiful. Never heard this before. Thank you
I sing for pleasure and have performed locally, this is the voice I've always wished I had.
This tour was incredible. The live recording of this whole concert is chef’s kiss. Dave doesn’t get nearly enough credit for how talented he is on guitar. I think he is one of the greats. I don’t think anyone emotes like Annie when singing live. Such intensity and such vocal control. Beautiful!
As a few others mentioned, I had the distinct pleasure of seeing her sing live along with Sting. Her voice & stage presence are impeccable. Incredible live performer. Annie is a gift! ❤
I am late. My phone was broken and I was too sick to leave home and buy another.
❤ I can't wait for when (if) you decide to learn more about Dave Stewart's ability to create such interesting soundscapes. You'll need to go to some more deeper cuts to educate your ears to listen to his things he has added from his synths. What Annie does is capturing so much of one's brain at first, on the pop hits, but the deep cuts are where the gold is mixed with other precious metals. Check out "Aqua", a song you can dance to in your kitchen, but at the same time it's giving you lyrics like "I saw you put the needle in." (And "bubbleup"?) Really listen to what Dave has done with the soundscapes. Interesting small things tucked around it all, like a Chrsimas tree with so many ornaments. There are wonderful songs like "This City Never Sleeps. " That also has a treasure trove of sounds and contributions by Annie, but also, the music paints a nighttime scene, a mood. I can't imagine them getting blocked, because fans are the ones making posts of the songs on RUclips. Then there is "No Fear No Hate No Pain No Broken Hearts. And while Dave puts it together, Annie's double tracked vocals are the magic on that one. I know you like live versions (or feel they may not get blocked?), but the live version has background singers doing what Annie does on the album, and they just *aren't* as good as she is! Some fan put up a version on youtube with a doll singing that song, and it's actually the studio version. It's perfect. Don't pick the TV show version. You'll be tempted, but don't. And the director screws up camera directions at the end: he misses a great Annie vocal, to show background singers.
Annie is pure 🔥 🔥🔥
Yeah she is🥰
Annie Lennox is musical perfection in human form, of all the greats; she just may be the greatest. Dave is great too, Annie is such an amazing lyricist, composer and ethereal vocalist. Both are great humans to boot.
You should hear Annie sing Whiter Shade of Pale
Best band ever! Really enjoyed the concert during that tour 🙂
Should watch her live singing and playing piano to her song why 😊
I've really enjoy watching you discover the genius of the Eurythmics. I agree wholeheartedly that they are underestimated in their brilliance.
Thank you for such enthusiastic reactions to this music which is now almost 40 years old. It still shines and it’s great that you see that.
What it is.. If never experienced The Eurithmics then you just don't know. Fact.🔴
Annie's cover of River deep Mountain high is fantastic!
I can sing EVERY LAST SONG OF THE EURYTHMICS!!! YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THE ALBUM 1984!!! ITS FABULOUS
Wonderful reaction! Annie Lennox has a stunning voice. You should check some of her solo work as well.
great vid as usual. the only unsolicited comment I would provide is... I don't think they were ever underrated. I think everyone knew and still knows, they are without peer and hugely influential. timeless.
YES:)
Love Is a Stranger (2nd album) and Thorn in my Side (same album as this one) are two more Eurythmics songs to consider reacting to.
My favourite song of all time. Thank you for listening.
I was a huge fan and got to see them in concert 3 times in the 80’s/ 90’s. So underrated.
They finally were introduced into The Rock and Roll hall of fame last year and I truly think Annie will be the next woman also introduced for her solo career as well!
Saw them at Wembley … absolutely brilliant … her voice and his virtuosity on the many different guitars he played on the night … very popular in the UK and Annie Lennox is very well known, I think it’s Dave Stewart that’s actually underrated … superb band live on stage.
Eurythmics are honestly my fav band, still listen to them today. Crazy videos back in the day lol. Anne Lennox my all time favorite female singer, she has a VOICE!. This song doesn't show of her voice as well other songs do
True, a great dinner with an amazing timbre of voice.
That last note Annie sang was exquisite. Hints of her Diva album to come a few years later.
Had the “Recenge” album on cassette wuth me on a summer holiday to France as a kid. Pretty sure I wore the tape out and pretty sure I know all the lyrics to every song to this day. Everyone who was around in the eighties recognize them and we are certainly not underrating them.
Another great Scottish singer song writer
Never heard this and what an amazing experience. The Death of MTV missed a masterpiece.
Clem Burke from Blondie on drums. He looked so different without his trademark hairstyle!
Yes they freakin are ! Well done for podsting .. maybe we will get an album one day . saw them do this at a huge indoor stadium at xmas and it was overwhelming
Nothing better !
I've always loved her song Why.
Really just a spiritual experience!
she is special!
My fave female vocalist - so much talent and always spot on. Like diving into a swimming pool full of feathers!
I don’t think I’ve ever heard that song. Thanks for sharing.
… they ARE so good … and very unfortunately underrated.
Saw Eurythmics in 1985 at Irvine Meadows when I was 16 with my best friend...it was our first concert! ❤
I've always assumed this song must be really famous .... because it sounds like an anthem, an anthem about love itself, and its a very moving song like something that will get the whole stadium in tears .....it has to a huge hit when it came out, but it turns out its not a very well known song ... thats when I realise great songs are not necessarily well known, a lot of reasons will bury great songs to make it unknown to the masses ...
I saw them at the nec B'ham i have to say she has the best live voice wow just amazing
One of the best!
Oh my God! 🎉
Never heard this one before. Thank you for introducing me to it.
Sem palavras... é excepcional...maravilhoso!
