Exactly. Even though I don't know this song I agree with you. What is up with the skimpy outfits and dances? Is the talent singing or parading around?

Well, no skimpy outfits except for Annie’s (in)famous “Red Bra” performances of “Would I Lie To You” during this same 1987 tour.😁
(NOT dissing Annie - LOVE her! The only time I’ve seen a “revealing” outfit done w CLASS.)

How many entertainers today can hold a massive stadium transfixed with a rock ballad? I had the opportunity to see this concert and several more and ANY CHANCE you get to hear a LIVE performance (even on video) of the Eurythmics or Annie will move you - her voice just FILLS an auditorium. Simply incredible and a great couple of people in real-life as well. Thanks for this review Salvo!

Her voice is stunning. I was lucky to see Annie Lennox and Sting in concert. Not only did they individually sing the roof off of Madison Square Garden, they blended beautifully, signing together their most popular songs. It remains in the top five most memorable concerts I've seen.

I had the great privilege to see Eurythmics in concert in NYC in 1990 (I think) -- a medium sized venue where my boyfriend and I were able to get up close to the stage. Her voice on every single song was exactly as recorded and more. She is far and away one of the best singers (and songwriters) I've ever heard/seen -- both as a duo with Dave and by herself.

Annie has so much depth, range and power it's difficult to quantify. The singular quality that places her so far above the rest, control.
We've heard singers with power. We've heard singers with great range.
But to posses ALL of the various skills and the unique talent to wield them at will... priceless.
Would place her in the same stratosphere as a "Floor Jansen" without any disrespect.

I am late. My phone was broken and I was too sick to leave home and buy another.
❤ I can't wait for when (if) you decide to learn more about Dave Stewart's ability to create such interesting soundscapes. You'll need to go to some more deeper cuts to educate your ears to listen to his things he has added from his synths. What Annie does is capturing so much of one's brain at first, on the pop hits, but the deep cuts are where the gold is mixed with other precious metals. Check out "Aqua", a song you can dance to in your kitchen, but at the same time it's giving you lyrics like "I saw you put the needle in." (And "bubbleup"?) Really listen to what Dave has done with the soundscapes. Interesting small things tucked around it all, like a Chrsimas tree with so many ornaments. There are wonderful songs like "This City Never Sleeps. " That also has a treasure trove of sounds and contributions by Annie, but also, the music paints a nighttime scene, a mood. I can't imagine them getting blocked, because fans are the ones making posts of the songs on RUclips. Then there is "No Fear No Hate No Pain No Broken Hearts. And while Dave puts it together, Annie's double tracked vocals are the magic on that one. I know you like live versions (or feel they may not get blocked?), but the live version has background singers doing what Annie does on the album, and they just *aren't* as good as she is! Some fan put up a version on youtube with a doll singing that song, and it's actually the studio version. It's perfect. Don't pick the TV show version. You'll be tempted, but don't. And the director screws up camera directions at the end: he misses a great Annie vocal, to show background singers.

I've always assumed this song must be really famous .... because it sounds like an anthem, an anthem about love itself, and its a very moving song like something that will get the whole stadium in tears .....it has to a huge hit when it came out, but it turns out its not a very well known song ... thats when I realise great songs are not necessarily well known, a lot of reasons will bury great songs to make it unknown to the masses ...
