    We've had our Venue Auto for 9 months from new and we love it. Just right for a retired couple with kids that have grown up. It's smooth, comfortable, roomy and easy to park with great visibility, a simple but with adequate interior features. It mainly does city driving but we've done a couple of interstate highway trips and have no problems cruising. A luxury sport's model it ain't but for the price, it's great. Not one problem since we bought it. 😄

      I got my 2023 H. Venue SEL (mid-trim) for about $20K only (after I waited for 3 months for the dealer to drop the price down from $23K!). :) Apple green. It works. The dash, the steering wheel and the safety 'alarms' make it look and appear classy despite its affordability. :)

    I'm seriously looking at the Venue and this is the kind of review I need to see. Warts and all, the good with the bad. Well done dude. I'm all for an atmo engine with a real proper auto trans, not some sketchy temperamental dual clutch, CVT, or tiptronic nonsense. Having said that our 5 year old Honda CRV Turbo is in a different class and has the CVT which has been faultless. A lovely car from end to end...
    We've moved into a retirement villa and our beloved Honda has to go, we really don't have the room for it. The Venue is nicely small enough and has the proper engine and gearbox. It's a bit ordinary but would suit us fine. Looks to be fairly readily available too. Wait times on other similar cars...

    I got a denim elite a month ago . I wanted to downsize from a big SUV ( Mitsubishi Outlander) to a small car. I test drove a Suzuki Baleno , Suzuki Swift, MG3 and then the Hyundai Venue. Wanted a cheap car that was small but still had room for my three teenagers and my small dog in the back. Wanted a new car under between 20k-30K. For 31K driveway with a dash cam and tint I’m happy. Yes, it’s slow but so is the MG3. Perfect for driving tight Hobart one way streets. Easy to park and best of all you can use 91 so cheap fuel.

    I'm also retired and agree. I was looking for a new car with a good warranty that was reasonably comfortable, safe and priced affordably. I am more than happy with my Venue and it punches above all of my expectations. Then again, I rarely have more than 1 passenger and drive mostly local miles (less than 5,000 miles per year at this point in my life). I am very happy with the car. It's funny that the reviews of this car range from accolades...to this. My advice? Skip the "honest reviews" and check it out yourself.

    I love that companies are coming out with these tiny little cheap cars with manual transmissions. Just got me a Corolla hatchback with the manual. It's not the GR, but I love it! And the venues styling, significantly better than any of the other vehicles. Families aren't gonna be targeting these, crazily enough, cars are so big, with no room, anymore. The Corolla raise the trunk/boot floor by a foot, which basically destroys cargo. I almost feel like taking all the spare tire and tools and shit out, just for the cargo space. But I love it regardless.

    I have a 2023 Hyundai venue Limited in the United States. I do live in an urban area I have no problem turning the wheel at all and making a three-point turn doesn't feel heavy. The ride in the front seat is comfortable I'm used to riding in a nice out back and something in the right is comparable and has good support. I'm not sure why he is so whiny about it and the transmission on the freeway I have no experience like that it does not shift around it stays steady and have heard nothing like he has in that car. Maybe they don't make them as solid for Australia

    Thanks for the review.It's a great review. It looks good, but I am really concerned while buying Hyundai and Kia cars, because of the 5mill recalls it has gad to do, of it's relatively newer models of cars, because of the concern of the car catching fire even being parked. Unfortunately in Australia, we don't see the car reviewing channels bring up the long term issues an recalls. Buying the car is fine, but you have to live with it for at least 5 years, and if you are bugged with contant issues, then it's not good, specially when you are always concerned that your house could be on fire in the middle of the night, becuase you parked your car in your guarage. This would also help 2nd hand car buyers as well. Probably you could be different in your new channel, and give it a a thought. Scotty in the US does it.

    There is no such thing as a "small bump" in price when it comes to adding ADAS, even without it this car is overpriced for the features it has(unless you really value the sound of hearing the sounds of a warm firelplace making you think the car is on fire😂). I wouldnt choose this car in the class because of the looks, the fact you dont get split fold seats in the back in all but the top spec, there is a facelift on the way(Hyundai really hates your resale value and changes thier models basically every year now).
    Your best bet in this segment is the Vitara(not the expensive T-Cross). On the lower models the 1.6l engine is a little more perkier and more frugal than this plus the transmission is more responsive. The boot is more spacious and practical. On the highway it cruisies at less than 2000rpm at 80kph(a little more at 110kph). Yes it has cheap plastics in it but they are easier to clean and maintain(alot of people dont talk about that fact) and it doesnt have usb ports at the back, but apart from that its quite practical(the front bottle holder can take a 2l bottle).

    Thanks for the review, Matt. I'm no Hyundai or Kia basher, but these things (and the Stonic) just leave me cold. They just seem lowest common denominator cars made from brittle sludge grey plastic - I'm sure that they are the same plastics used in 1994 Excels - and that instrument display looks like it came from the Jaycar discount bin. I used to be just as disparaging about the Kona as well though, and just look at the latest version just released in Korea - I hold similar hopes for the Venue's eventual replacement. In the meantime it's a T-Cross or CX3 if I had to sit a few inches higher off the ground, all the while knowing that I'd be better off in a Polo or Mazda 2...

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  Год назад +1

      I reckon a T-Cross has more likeable attributes than a Polo these days. Sliding second row seat, namely, which - as a dad - is super appealing.
      I think the next Venue will improve in the crucial ways (if it remains Venue). The next Kona is a bit bigger than the current and leaves space where the old Kona played.

    hard pass for this car, in this market space I would think the one of the better alternatives would be the Ford Puma.

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  Год назад +3

      Yep, Puma in a heartbeat but it’s also starting $10,000 higher than base Venue…

      The Ford Puma seems to be a really expensive car with a really small engine.

      Friends Brand new Puma got stuck in freeway and it was caused be a faulty thermostat. Took them 3 months to replace it, ford werribee dealer was super fast. Usually it takes 6-9 months for the parts they said😂😂😂

    BYD should bring the EV BYD Yuan Up to Australia soon. It's similar size to the Venue and is selling in China for US$14000 (A$23000). Hyundai cars are way way overpriced.

    Sounds like a horrible lack of proper mechanical engineering. With a conventional auto like that you'd rather go with a cvt. Hyundai have still yet to learn to make more refined engines/ transmissions.

      I disagree on the broader statement. They have a great 2.0L with CVT in Kona.

      I need the ads to get enough income to make reviews. So I’m sorry you have a problem with RUclips’s monetisation priorities, but those ads help people like me make a living.

      @@therightcar I obviously get that but it is overkill and as I said, unwatchable. Tone it down to improve quality and likely increase views ✌️

    I wasn't wrong it's the ugliest car Hyundai makes. I'm surprised they sell any. I heard the sound of nature it was me nearly vomiting. In this price range, i would get the MG ZST with the Red T it's the turbo version with a torque converter auto.
