    $160'000+ for 2 weeks a year and astronomical fuel consumption, depreciation, insurance, maintenance, etc. the rest of the time?
    It's like the arms race. He with the biggest truck wins.

    Bought a 2024 Silverado ZR2 and i love it. Suspension is so smooth on the roughest of roads and they done a better job with the interior and stereo controls easier to reach on the driver side. Done a great job with the conversion and the active exhaust sounds amazing with the 6.2 V8 brings a smile everytime i put the foot down and the exhaust note is a headturner😀

    The Tundra Limited in the USA is $54,000 usd ($84k in Australian dollars). In OZ...$154k+ on roads. That's $74k for import costs, RHD conversion and profit. Ouch 😮

    Walkinshaw have done a truly awful job at converting this. The infotainment and climate control mistakes are unacceptable for a car so effing expensive. Either that, or toyota just dont care enough and arent supporting walkinshaw like they should.

    I recon if you’re in this market segment, maybe waiting for the Ford Super Duty. Speculators saying 4500t towing, GCM around 8000kg, 3.0 V6 from the Ranger with F150 running gear and hopefully sub $90k. 2026 👍

      60000USD = 94000AUD at the current rate so it is probably more like 60000AUD for the conversion, the conversion has them totally dismantling the vehicle and rebuilding it. ruclips.net/video/QAbL3hqa44o/видео.html

    Excellent, now if only they would make the car spaces a big bigger to accommodate the size of such vehicles. (I wouldn't buy one, not practical for me unless I want to tow 3 caravans, LOL)

    How do they calculate Luxury Car tax? It appears you cannot buy a new car in Australia anymore that the tax doesn't apply to. The cost of new vehicles in Australia is so rediculous now. I saw a second hand RAV 4 the other day that hadn't been looked after with a for sale sign on it for 45k. A RAV 4. Rediculous.

  • @MrAstro666
    @MrAstro666 Месяц назад +2

    Nearly ticks all the boxes, you would think they could easily change over the blinkers and wiper switches, from another right hand drive Toyota, info screen, with home one the left, would be annoying too, fuel economy, service costs and no road side assist, which you get on a cheap O Chinese vehicle, yes it a Toyota, but not as polished as the Toyotas I have owned and driver over many years, hopefully over time, they just put that little more effort into the finished product, and add some additional owner satisfaction/peace of mind for the high price point.

    • @tallboy49
      @tallboy49 Месяц назад +4

      Typical Toyota. They have developed a typical take it or leave it attitude of late hoping that people will just blindly keep buying their products regardless of the price and lack of equipment. This thing is probably a very good unit but not at that price especially when the mirrors are not right, the controls are on the wrong side of the steering column and other controls in the cab are difficult to reach.

  • @philross1680
    @philross1680 Месяц назад +2

    Thanks Matt for another interesting video.
    The Tundra is a great looking vehicle and was interested to hear you say how good the ride is. It certainly sounds better than my Ford Everest Sport with those 20” wheels ☹️.
    Those “little” niggles you pointed out certainly should have been sorted out before it’s release here.
    However the power and grunt that Hybrid engine I think will make up for a lot of those issues.
    I’m not surprised by the price tag as that’s the way Toyota is going these days with all their vehicles 🤔but I’m sure a certain element of the population will snap them up and for good reason.

    $150k for a Ute that looks like a Ssanyong Musso on steroids? These ‘Tundra’ pickups’ are sold in the US for as little as $39k US and are usually for people who can’t afford one of the big three. Weird how Toyota think because they get away with selling the new 1985 model 79 series Ute at a premium they can foist the Tundra on us as well. I’m sure its okay for a $75k vehicle but not $150k.

  • @jam2theongie836

    considering how many of these things are blowing up in the US while still being basically brand new, plus the HUGE wait times for long blocks and the ridiculous purchase price, i just dont see it being a big seller. no surprise considering how many L's toyota has been taking in the last few years

  • @georgejones7307
    @georgejones7307 Месяц назад +1

    There's a lot of negative videos in the USA about all these cars. One after the other horror stories. Bad engines, poorly designed engines and idiotic plastic parts everywhere in the engine bay.
    As for Toyota, there quality is reportedly getting as bad as everyone else.
