You can't reduce the Nature of the Spirit to pronouns. In scripture and SOP sometimes he is referred to as it. His nature is a mystery...He didn't come to review himself but Christ.. Pastor Doug, you need to wrestle with the historical fact that the early SDA church, when Ellen White was alive was not a trinitarian church. It's not even a theoretical possibility that Ellen White belonged to a church which she disagreed with on the first three fundamental doctrines of that church. Especially without even saying a word about that. So what you need to wrestle with is the early SDA church position on the nature of God and explain to us why they were wrong. Of course, don't rule out the possibility that they were right and we were wrong in adopting this catholic doctrine which is nowhere stated in the Bible.
The bible speaks of the Head of Christ, the God of Christ, the Son of God, the Father of Christ, the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ. Where is there a similar reciprocal description regarding the Holy Spirit: Father of the Spirit, Head of the Spirit, or God of the Spirit? The question of how many personalities there are cannot be the starting point of the discussion. You start with how many Beings, and then move to what their relationship is and what each says about the other. Every bible text quoted in this video fits into my non-trinitarian understanding of the Father and Son and Holy Spirit, but there are texts that cannot to my mind be made to fit the Trinitarian view point--texts written by apostles who were clearly non-trinitarian.

If The Holy Spirit's evidence of being a person is characterized by actions and pronouns, how can you explain 1st Cor 13 and Proverbs (most chapters) when referring to Wisdom and Charity as a SHE and wisdom speaks as well ("wisdom cries out"). For those who believe in the Catholic doctrine of the Trinity I have a couple of questions: 1. Why is it no where in the bible, is the holy Spirit titled as "God"? 2. I believe the Holy Spirit is God Himself. Spirit is His nature and Holy is His character. I think the Father and the Holy Spirit are one and the same as a husband and a father in any family are one and the same... just titles. I believe that the Spirit of God (God's power, ability for doing things- Gen 1:1-3) which is given to the believer in Christ is God's way of living in and working through the believer in Christ (Eph 3:20-21). Our pioneers never worshiped the trinity. They taught us that the Holy Spirit is NOT a literal being as is the Father & Son. Their teaching is consistent with the scriptures. We are standing on the platform of God and His only begotten Son where our pioneers stood at the very beginning of our faith. My concern is "what saith the Lord", not what saith the pioneer. The scripture saids that we can grieve the Holy Spirit. That's tells me he has feelings as well as intelligence which our qualities that make up an individual. Also, Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as "he" and not it. At the Baptism of Christ, the Holy Spirit appeared independently in the form of a dove and descended upon Christ. Which tells me he had the intelligence to differentiate between the Father and the Son. Also, the Holy Spirit was there with the Son and the Father before creation. He was a witness to the love Christ and His Father shared before the world was. No where in the Scriptures are we called to worship the Holy Spirit. He is simply an agent in the God Head whose role is to help us experience the Gift of Christ whom was given to us by the Father. We must before careful not to be wise in our own eyes. Let's compare the physical network of the internet as a body and the transmitting antennas, as being the Spirit, and computers, as being people. When the network wants to transmit an ebook, or an image, a film, the antenna does not need to leave the body and go to the person's house. Thus, the Holy Spirit is part of God's body, when he wants to transmit something to people, or perform some physical phenomenon, he does not need to leave God's body, in the same way that the antenna transmits, the Holy Spirit also transmits waves energy that can accomplish everything he wants. The Holy Spirit can speak, intercede, and grieve, because the Holy Spirit is the spirit of God, who is holy and has all the senses that we have, as we are his image and likeness. Other times the Holy Spirit is mentioned figuratively, for example, being filled with the Holy Spirit. Of course, the Holy Spirit will not leave the body of God and enter us, it is the spiritual waves of the Holy Spirit that penetrates our body and we are "filled" with these vibrations and can produce the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. We can symbolically say that we are full of the Holy Spirit, as we are, literally, full of the fluids that emanate from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is part of a person who is God, the other part of God is the infinite universe. We can call the Holy Spirit God, but we must understand that the Holy Spirit is a part of God, the spiritual, energetic part, the spiritual "brain" that directs everything and that emanates its radiation to the entire universe and through this radiation, everything happens by your will. How can I prove this in the Bible? We are the image and likeness of God, we have a body and a spirit that gives life to that body. Thus, our spirit is the image of the Holy Spirit and our body is the image of the body of God. Our body is made up of atoms, which is a miniature of a solar system. The body of God is formed by solar systems that make up the infinite universe. If we magnified our body trillions and trillions of times, we would see the universe, each atom would be the image of a solar system. If we reduced the universe trillions and trillions of times, we would see God, but that would not be possible, because the universe is infinite. When God reports that he sends his Holy Spirit, do not take it literally, as the Holy Spirit remains in the body of God, only energetic vibrations of this spirit reach people and as they are emanated by the Spirit of God, we can symbolically say that it is the Spirit Holy.

No. The Holy Spirit is a distinct individual from Jesus. There are three Persons, as clearly stated by countless verses. The Holy Spirit DROVE Jesus into the desert to fast for 40 days. You don't "drive" yourself to do things you don't want to do. The idea the Holy Spirit is not a distinct individual is a false teaching, and a doctrine of demons. The Holy Spirit is the Person who seals us in the end times. Very handy for Satan to destroy faith in Him just before the final days of Earth.

Why did the apostles in all their letters to the faithful never mention once the word 'comforter' or 'helper' if Jesus had previously said it at the last supper? It took John till 98AD to mention it in his gospel! The only inference we get previosly is paul saying "The Holy Spirit says" ( Heb 3:7) where he quotes David's words at Psm 95:7. David said "It was God's Spirit that spake by me" ( 2 Sam 23:2 ). Thus Paul simply stated what God had said, THROUGH David who was inspired by Spirit thus!.

Where is his error in this video? You gave no specifics. I would caution you to be wise when you attack an ordained minister. If you have good reason, then bring it forward. If you are simply unconvinced then that is not error. I genuinely want to know the truth. So I engage instead of running. Joseph Swaine what Pastor Doug is trying to prove is, is the Holy Spirit a PERSON. I agree with the Pastor the Holy Spirit is a person but his error is believing that it’s another Divine Person that’s not the Father. The Bible clearly reveals the Holy Spirit is the Father and not someone else, when you say “Holy Spirit” it reveals that Spirit is Holy now who’s Spirit it is that’s Holy? It’s the Spirit of God which is the Father Notice what it says in Ephesians 4:29-30 “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” Notice it says Holy Spirit of God not God the Holy Spirit which some Christians like to say but this saying is not found in the Bible.also in Genesis 6: 3-6 it says “And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. Notice it says “and the Lord said my spirit” in verse 3 and in verse 6 it says “It grieved him at his heart” who it was that was grieved in his heart? It was The Lord heart or spirit that was grieved. Now when it comes to the Baptism some Christians like to believe it was three presence at that time but when you compare Luke and Matthew together you see that’s incorrect Luke says(4:22) the Holy Ghost or Spirit descended Matthew says(3:16) the Spirit of God descended now when you put the two together you can say the Holy Spirit of God descended like a dove. And finally Jesus himself confirms that it was His Father’s Spirit descending as well as His Father voice speaking at the baptism notice what it says in John 5:32-37 “There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true. 33 Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. 34 But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. 35 He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. 36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. 37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. It was at the Baptism, now Notice Jesus says it was His Father’s voice and His Father’s shape which was His Spirit in the shape of a dove. Now I know it maybe a hard pill to swallow but I encourage you to study and go over what I presented in prayer and if you honestly want to know the truth I promise you God will give you so much evidence your be convinced. Seems like a sheep on the surface. By the time you pronounced a curse to someone whom you think has a different view gives away your true wolf face. You did not even curse those who outwardly denies the scriptures and considered it just a fairy tale. I think your are in wrong tract but I dont wish a curse befall upon you. I believe the Holy Spirit is a Person, but where I disagree is the Holy Spirit is not a separate person from the person the spirit belongs to. ALL the pioneers of our faith were adamantly non trinitarian. The SDA church did not adopt the Catholic trinity as a doctrine until 1980 at the General Conferene in Dallas. The trinity is Satan's way of getting the worship he always wanted......he is the "god" the holy spirit!!! No where in the Bible is "god the holy spirit" or the "trinity" mentioned. People comparing the Holy Scriptures (The Bible) with a book called SOP (Spirit of prophecy) which is a word of man, what a pity! Let’s learn to stop where the Bible stops. JOHN 16:13; Here Jesus Is assuring his disciples that as he also said "Look I am with you all the days"(Matt 28:20) Since at his ascension he recieved the promised Holy spirit which from pentecost was in turn poured out on the disciples, he was comforting his followers that through God's Spirit he would 'guide them' and even 'declare to them the things coming' ( Rev 1:1 A revelation By Jesus Christ which GOD GAVE HIM, which he gave thorugh the angel to John) Thus Jesus was admitting here that all this was possible becaue 'what he hears he will speak'. As he confessed "I speak, not what is mine but his who sent me" ( John 7:16). Once again the wording at John 16:13 does not justify that the HS is a 'person'. Its Just GOD'S spirit!

1 Cor 2:13 "Taught by the spirit". Similar words to Heb 3:7 "The Holy Spirit says". Now lets be contextual! Paul quoted here from Psm 95:7 which Paul says was written by David ( see Heb 4:7). So Though David said those words, Paul says they were uttered by the "Holy Spirit"? Ah! Now we have it...2 Sam 23:2 says "The Spirit OF THE LORD speaks through me". Thus using simple logic, when Paul said at 1 Cor 2:13 that we can be "Taught by the Spirit", as we read The bible, God's word, which He inspired to be written we are 'taught by the Spirit', really by God himself! The Holy Spirit is of cause a person, since He is Jesus in spirit (not in flesh) (John 14:18). When Jesus said He would send another (allos) Comforter, it had to be Himself because allos means other of the same kind, that is Himself with a different nature. If it was to be a totally other entity/person, Jesus would have used the word heteros (different kind). Did Jesus make a mistake by using allos instead of heteros? I don't think so. The Bible makes a plain statement to the identity of the Comforter.(1 John 2:1). There are only two deities in heaven, God the Father and His only begotten (born - Pro 8:24-25)) Son. Gods Son inherited His Fathers attributes and was GIVEN (by the Father) all powers in heaven and in earth (Mat 28:18).

Holy Spirit is God's "channel" in us. Through which Jesus can act. What the devine God or Jesus speaks that HS also does. Not that HS is a separate person! Please read in John what Jesus says when He released the HS. What I say he tells, and he takes from me. Not another person type of doings!

Hey, even JESUS says "He will not speak of HIS OWN authority, but He will take of what is Mine and give it to you." So in other words, HE HAS HIS OWN AUTHORITY!!! He has His own personality!!! His own individuality!! Jesus called Him a HE, who TAKES things from Jesus, and gives it to us. You don't "TAKE" something you already have.
You are basing this off Romans 8:26, 34, in which it is stated that both the Holy Spirit and Christ intercede for us. However, nowhere does it say both mediate for us. The two words are different both in Greek and English and mean different things. To conflate them is simply wrong. According to 1 Timothy 2:5, there is one mediator between God and man - Christ. However there is more than one intercessor. As we have already seen, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us, as well as Christ. And we are even told to intercede for each other (1 Timothy 2:1). So yes, there is only one mediator, but there are many intercessors.

The Greek word for mediate is μεσίτης (mesités), which means a go-between, an arbiter, one who makes peace between two parties. So no, the two words are not the same and do not mean the same thing. Christ is the mediator of the new covenant (Hebrews 9:15; 12:24), and neither that role or that word (mesités) is ever applied to the Holy Spirit.

No. The Holy Spirit is a distinct individual from Jesus. There are three Persons, as clearly stated by countless verses. The Holy Spirit DROVE Jesus into the desert to fast for 40 days. You don't "drive" yourself to do things you don't want to do. The idea the Holy Spirit is not a distinct individual is a false teaching, and a doctrine of demons. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. Who is the Spirit of God? Of course is God who is a spirit: "God is a spirit" (John 4:24). This is distinct from the "Father" (of the sign of the cross), who is NOT a spirit and is NOT here ("the world has not known you").

God’s holy spirit is identified as God’s power in action. It is not unusual for the Bible to personify things that are not a person. These include wisdom, discernment, sin, death, and undeserved kindness. (Proverbs 8:1-9:6; Romans 5:14, 17, 21; 6:12) Jesus himself said that “wisdom is proved righteous by all its children,” or its good results. (Luke 7:35) Clearly, wisdom is not a person that has literal children! Likewise, the holy spirit is not a person simply because in some instances it is personified.

Just because Christ spoke of Himself in the third person in one particular case, doesn't mean He was doing so during His discourse on the Holy Spirit. You cannot take a grammatical technique used in one passage and plug it automatically into another simply because it suits your personal belief. Prove from the text in John itself that Christ was speaking of His own person.

Christ speaks many times of himself in the 3. person. Parakleitos is used 5 times in the New Testament, by the same writer, the apostle John. It is translated 4 times as comfortor. The last time it is translated as advocate, same word, same person. And John says clearly, who this parakleitos is: 1 John 2:1 You are gravely misapplying Scripture and twisting the Testimonies, brother Batchelor. And how can it be more clear than what Ellen White says: "The Lord is soon to come. We want that complete and perfect understanding which the Lord alone can give. It is NOT SAFE to catch the spirit from another. WE WANT THE HOLY SPIRIT WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST. If we commune with God, we shall have strenght and grace and efficiency." Peter 1:11; "Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow." As you can see, "The Holy Ghost" and "Spirit of Christ" are interchangeably. Because they are the same. Christ's Spirit is not somebody else apart from him. I could tell of a childhood experience I had with Christ, to proof this point. But I'd rather discuss from Scripture and SOP and pioneers. The deeds that the Holy Spirit performs are deeds only a person can do.
1. Teaching
These things we also speak not in words which mans wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:13).
2. Giving Guidance
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God (Romans 8:14).
3. Comforting
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send him to you (John 16:7KJV).
4. Commanding
Then the Spirit said to Philip, "Go near and overtake this chariot" (Acts 8:29).
5. Giving Understanding
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak (John 16:13).
6. Speaking
As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work which I have called them" (Acts 13:2).
Can you explain why Wisdom and Charity are given pronouns and wisdom even speaking "cries" throughout the Bible? I believe in 3 persons but a friend doesn't and I can't explain it..
Because its GOD'S spirit, it can obviosly do all these things! If it was a 'person' equal in stature to the Father why would it state so many times that it is GOD'S spirit? The psam says "If you sent forth YOUR spirit" 104:30. Gen 1:2 "God's spirit was...". It belongs to God the Father, its is sent by him, it does His will, he even pours it out on people! This hardly is a description of a person? can you quote ONE bible text that says 'God pours out Jesus on us'?

You can't reduce the Nature of the Spirit to pronouns. In scripture and SOP sometimes he is referred to as it. His nature is a mystery...He didn't come to review himself but Christ..
By the way those who don't believe in the trinity don't argue the personhood of the Spirit:
1 . they believe He is much more than He and it and his nature is mysterious.
2. They believe He is the Spirit of the Father and the Spirit of Christ as the scriptures say.
There questions arise as to whether He should be worshiped Like The father and the Son. Does he have a throne like the Father and the son..Where in the scriptures is he refered to as God the third?

Pastor Doug, you need to wrestle with the historical fact that the early SDA church, when Ellen White was alive was not a trinitarian church. It's not even a theoretical possibility that Ellen White belonged to a church which she disagreed with on the first three fundamental doctrines of that church. Especially without even saying a word about that. So what you need to wrestle with is the early SDA church position on the nature of God and explain to us why they were wrong. Of course, don't rule out the possibility that they were right and we were wrong in adopting this catholic doctrine which is nowhere stated in the Bible.

Why is the Holy Spirit no longer mentioned in Rev. 21 & 22?
The bible speaks of the Head of Christ, the God of Christ, the Son of God, the Father of Christ, the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ. Where is there a similar reciprocal description regarding the Holy Spirit: Father of the Spirit, Head of the Spirit, or God of the Spirit? The question of how many personalities there are cannot be the starting point of the discussion. You start with how many Beings, and then move to what their relationship is and what each says about the other. Every bible text quoted in this video fits into my non-trinitarian understanding of the Father and Son and Holy Spirit, but there are texts that cannot to my mind be made to fit the Trinitarian view point--texts written by apostles who were clearly non-trinitarian.

If The Holy Spirit's evidence of being a person is characterized by actions and pronouns, how can you explain 1st Cor 13 and Proverbs (most chapters) when referring to Wisdom and Charity as a SHE and wisdom speaks as well ("wisdom cries out"). Eye opening! I have always just accepted that the holy spirit IS (exists) and performs a function and believe he was part of the 'We will make man in our image.' but never thought about being a person.

At 5:46 Pastor says You have God the Spirit saying I’ll be your Rep your Advocate and that He pleads before the Father and the Son When 1 John 2:1 says “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:” then Pastor says at 6:04 the Spirit is not Jesus, Now who you going to believe?
For those who believe in the Catholic doctrine of the Trinity I have a couple of questions:
1. Why is it no where in the bible, is the holy Spirit titled as "God"?
2. Why is it through out the New Testament the apostles especially Paul acknowledges God the Father and Jesus Christ the son of God, but never a "god the holy spirit"?
3. Why is it that Jesus gives honor to God the father, his father but never to a "god the holy Spirit"?
4. Why does Jesus say in John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent? Why didn't Jesus make an inclusion of a "third god" in the "person" of the holy spirit?
5. Why did Jesus say "I and my father are one" and not I, my Father and god the Holy spirit?
6. Why did Jesus not mention a "third being" in John 14:21 when he said-He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him?
7. Why did Jesus say in John 14:23 "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him? Why no mention of third "god/being"? Note how in that same passage after Jesus speaks of the Holy Spirit he then says in vs 28- "Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
8. Why in John 1vs1 there is no mention of a third being?
9. Why in Hebrews 1 God the Father appoints Jesus has heir and sets him above all in heaven and earth, yet belief is placed in a false doctrine of a third being of equality?
10. Why in John 3:16 the most popular quoted bible vs we see a relationship between a loving God the Father and his only begotten Son? yet we seek to add a "third being, a third "God".
11. Why is it so many believe in the "mystery triune god" of the Catholic church, the fallen church, the anti-Christ?

I humbly share my understanding on this teaching on the Holy Spirit with you sir. I believe the Holy Spirit is God Himself. Spirit is His nature and Holy is His character. I think the Father and the Holy Spirit are one and the same as a husband and a father in any family are one and the same... just titles. I believe that the Spirit of God (God's power, ability for doing things- Gen 1:1-3) which is given to the believer in Christ is God's way of living in and working through the believer in Christ (Eph 3:20-21). God almighty lives in us today and works in and through us today by the Spirits. That's my understanding

Our pioneers never worshiped the trinity. They taught us that the Holy Spirit is NOT a literal being as is the Father & Son. Their teaching is consistent with the scriptures. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father & Son and NOT a third being. Pastor Doug, you can deceive others but not us; we know what our pioneers taught us and will remain as such and defend the original doctrines though the heavens fall.

Non trinitarians are Scripture and SOP based and we can not be moved! We are standing on the platform of God and His only begotten Son where our pioneers stood at the very beginning of our faith. Stepping on the platform where our pioneers stood with willing obedience to the law and to the testimony is the only assurance for the seal of God, ready for the wedding feast by His mercy and grace. My concern is "what saith the Lord", not what saith the pioneer. The scripture saids that we can grieve the Holy Spirit. That's tells me he has feelings as well as intelligence which our qualities that make up an individual. Also, Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as "he" and not it. At the Baptism of Christ, the Holy Spirit appeared independently in the form of a dove and descended upon Christ. Which tells me he had the intelligence to differentiate between the Father and the Son. Also, the Holy Spirit was there with the Son and the Father before creation. He was a witness to the love Christ and His Father shared before the world was. No where in the Scriptures are we called to worship the Holy Spirit. He is simply an agent in the God Head whose role is to help us experience the Gift of Christ whom was given to us by the Father. We must before careful not to be wise in our own eyes. Let's compare the physical network of the internet as a body and the transmitting antennas, as being the Spirit, and computers, as being people. When the network wants to transmit an ebook, or an image, a film, the antenna does not need to leave the body and go to the person's house. Thus, the Holy Spirit is part of God's body, when he wants to transmit something to people, or perform some physical phenomenon, he does not need to leave God's body, in the same way that the antenna transmits, the Holy Spirit also transmits waves energy that can accomplish everything he wants. The Holy Spirit can speak, intercede, and grieve, because the Holy Spirit is the spirit of God, who is holy and has all the senses that we have, as we are his image and likeness. Other times the Holy Spirit is mentioned figuratively, for example, being filled with the Holy Spirit. Of course, the Holy Spirit will not leave the body of God and enter us, it is the spiritual waves of the Holy Spirit that penetrates our body and we are "filled" with these vibrations and can produce the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. We can symbolically say that we are full of the Holy Spirit, as we are, literally, full of the fluids that emanate from the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is part of a person who is God, the other part of God is the infinite universe. We can call the Holy Spirit God, but we must understand that the Holy Spirit is a part of God, the spiritual, energetic part, the spiritual "brain" that directs everything and that emanates its radiation to the entire universe and through this radiation, everything happens by your will.
How can I prove this in the Bible? We are the image and likeness of God, we have a body and a spirit that gives life to that body. Thus, our spirit is the image of the Holy Spirit and our body is the image of the body of God. Our body is made up of atoms, which is a miniature of a solar system. The body of God is formed by solar systems that make up the infinite universe. If we magnified our body trillions and trillions of times, we would see the universe, each atom would be the image of a solar system. If we reduced the universe trillions and trillions of times, we would see God, but that would not be possible, because the universe is infinite. When God reports that he sends his Holy Spirit, do not take it literally, as the Holy Spirit remains in the body of God, only energetic vibrations of this spirit reach people and as they are emanated by the Spirit of God, we can symbolically say that it is the Spirit Holy.

No. The Holy Spirit is a distinct individual from Jesus. There are three Persons, as clearly stated by countless verses. The Holy Spirit DROVE Jesus into the desert to fast for 40 days. You don't "drive" yourself to do things you don't want to do. The idea the Holy Spirit is not a distinct individual is a false teaching, and a doctrine of demons. The Holy Spirit is the Person who seals us in the end times. Very handy for Satan to destroy faith in Him just before the final days of Earth.

Why did the apostles in all their letters to the faithful never mention once the word 'comforter' or 'helper' if Jesus had previously said it at the last supper? It took John till 98AD to mention it in his gospel! The only inference we get previosly is paul saying "The Holy Spirit says" ( Heb 3:7) where he quotes David's words at Psm 95:7. David said "It was God's Spirit that spake by me" ( 2 Sam 23:2 ). Thus Paul simply stated what God had said, THROUGH David who was inspired by Spirit thus!.

Matt. 12:28 ="the spirit of God, Mat 12:31 Strongs and almost all bibles say here "the spirit" KJV says in error :the holy Ghost". 12:32 ="the holy spirit" All the angels, all mankind , Jehovah and Jesus have names, yet h/s has nothing. (2)there are 8 visions of God on his throne in the Bible, 3 with Jesus, but none with h/s. (3)Greek word for "spirit" is pneuma which any interlinear will tell you means "breath" from the greek verb pneo which means to breathe.The word can be translated in differing contexts wind, John 3:8, inner feelings Heb 4:12, an angel or angel; and h/spirit. Where is his error in this video? You gave no specifics. I would caution you to be wise when you attack an ordained minister. If you have good reason, then bring it forward. If you are simply unconvinced then that is not error. I genuinely want to know the truth. So I engage instead of running. Joseph Swaine what Pastor Doug is trying to prove is, is the Holy Spirit a PERSON. I agree with the Pastor the Holy Spirit is a person but his error is believing that it’s another Divine Person that’s not the Father. The Bible clearly reveals the Holy Spirit is the Father and not someone else, when you say “Holy Spirit” it reveals that Spirit is Holy now who’s Spirit it is that’s Holy? JOHN 16:13; Here Jesus Is assuring his disciples that as he also said "Look I am with you all the days"(Matt 28:20) Since at his ascension he recieved the promised Holy spirit which from pentecost was in turn poured out on the disciples, he was comforting his followers that through God's Spirit he would 'guide them' and even 'declare to them the things coming' ( Rev 1:1 A revelation By Jesus Christ which GOD GAVE HIM, which he gave thorugh the angel to John) Thus Jesus was admitting here that all this was possible becaue 'what he hears he will speak'. As he confessed "I speak, not what is mine but his who sent me" ( John 7:16). Once again the wording at John 16:13 does not justify that the HS is a 'person'. Its Just GOD'S spirit!

The Holy Spirit is of cause a person, since He is Jesus in spirit (not in flesh) (John 14:18). When Jesus said He would send another (allos) Comforter, it had to be Himself because allos means other of the same kind, that is Himself with a different nature. If it was to be a totally other entity/person, Jesus would have used the word heteros (different kind). Did Jesus make a mistake by using allos instead of heteros? I don't think so.
The Bible makes a plain statement to the identity of the Comforter.(1 John 2:1).
There are only two deities in heaven, God the Father and His only begotten (born - Pro 8:24-25)) Son. Gods Son inherited His Fathers attributes and was GIVEN (by the Father) all powers in heaven and in earth (Mat 28:18).

The orthodox churches that teach that the Holy spirit is a person only assumed this teaching from the 4th century AFTER Jesus & the apostles established Christianity.The councils that were conviened were at the orders of pagan Roman emperors who presided at these heated debates! Can we imagine God was blessing such worldly human ranglings? Why did Paul in all his letters address the believers with " May you have undeserved kindness & peace from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ", no mention of a 'person' called the Holy Spirit"! ( Just check verse 2 of chap 1 in all Paul's letters.And when Stephen had a vision of heavan just before he was martyrd,why did he see only God & His son in heavan? Where was No3? 'God the holy spirit? Absent! Even in the book of revelation, we only see visions of 2 persons, never 3! Its just NOT biblical . Thats why not all Christians then and now have accepted this teaching. How can the Holy spirit be a person when " God poured out (of) some of His spirit at Pentecost" ( See Acts 2:18. At Heb 2:4 Paul speaks of "distributions of Holy spirit" How can a 'person' be distrbuted amoung people? How can 'some of a person be poured out on other persons'? Hey, even JESUS says "He will not speak of HIS OWN authority, but He will take of what is Mine and give it to you." So in other words, HE HAS HIS OWN AUTHORITY!!! He has His own personality!!! His own individuality!! Jesus called Him a HE, who TAKES things from Jesus, and gives it to us. You don't "TAKE" something you already have.

You are basing this off Romans 8:26, 34, in which it is stated that both the Holy Spirit and Christ intercede for us. However, nowhere does it say both mediate for us. The two words are different both in Greek and English and mean different things. To conflate them is simply wrong.
According to 1 Timothy 2:5, there is one mediator between God and man - Christ. However there is more than one intercessor. As we have already seen, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us, as well as Christ. And we are even told to intercede for each other (1 Timothy 2:1).
So yes, there is only one mediator, but there are many intercessors.

The Greek word for mediate is μεσίτης (mesités), which means a go-between, an arbiter, one who makes peace between two parties.
So no, the two words are not the same and do not mean the same thing. Christ is the mediator of the new covenant (Hebrews 9:15; 12:24), and neither that role or that word (mesités) is ever applied to the Holy Spirit.

well I guess when Christ spoke of the good Sheppard, it was someone else, not Him. Doug, you are in error. Too many errors in your videos. 2 Corinthians 3: 17 clears the matter up.
Just because Christ spoke of Himself in the third person in one particular case, doesn't mean He was doing so during His discourse on the Holy Spirit. You cannot take a grammatical technique used in one passage and plug it automatically into another simply because it suits your personal belief. Prove from the text in John itself that Christ was speaking of His own person.

Thus when He said "I will come to you", He was saying He would be present with His disciples through the agency of the Spirit, who perfectly reveals Christ as Christ perfectly reveals the Father. Ellen White understood this:
"Faith in Christ is not the work of nature, but the work of God on human minds, wrought in the very soul by the Holy Spirit, who reveals Christ, as Christ revealed the Father." RH November 3 1904.
Notice that she says the Holy Spirit reveals Christ as Christ revealed the Father. Did Christ have to be the same person as the Father in order to reveal Him? No, but He was identical to Him in mind, character, and purpose. Neither does the Holy Spirit have to be the same person as Christ in order to reveal Him. He is one with Him in the same way as Christ is one with the Father, thus to receive the Spirit is to receive Christ. Again she writes:
"In the plan of restoring in men the divine image, it was provided that the Holy Spirit should move upon human minds, and be AS the presence of Christ, a molding agency upon human character." This Day With God 51.
The Holy Spirit is not the presence of Christ, as some teach, He is AS (or "like") the presence of Christ. Again:
"In giving Christ, God gave heaven's choicest gift. He has given us all the rich blessings presented in the Word. When Christ ascended to heaven, the Holy Spirit took His place, AND WAS A PERFECT REPRESENTATION OF HIM. It is the work of the Spirit to minister the richest grace, and make it effectual in the hearts of God's people, that the elect may be gathered into one family." 21MR 55.
The Holy Spirit is not Christ, but He does perfectly represent Christ, as Christ perfectly represents the Father.

Christ speaks many times of himself in the 3. person. Parakleitos is used 5 times in the New Testament, by the same writer, the apostle John. It is translated 4 times as comfortor. The last time it is translated as advocate, same word, same person. And John says clearly, who this parakleitos is: 1 John 2:1

And how can it be more clear than what Ellen White says:

You have made two assumptions here:
1) That because Christ speaks of Himself in the third person in some places, He must be doing so during His discourse on the Holy Spirit.
2) Because παράκλητος (paraklétos) is used in reference to both the Holy Spirit and Christ, the two must be the same.
Neither of these assumptions can be proven, and a close examination of Scripture indicates that they are incorrect. In the case of the parable of the good shepherd it is obvious that Jesus is speaking of Himself. The same cannot be said of His words in John 14. There He is very clearly speaking of another like Himself. Thus Ellen White states:
_"In giving Christ, God gave heaven's choicest gift. He has given us all the rich blessings presented in the Word. When Christ ascended to heaven, the Holy Spirit _*_TOOK HIS PLACE,_*_ and was a perfect _*_REPRESENTATION_*_ of Him. It is the work of the Spirit to minister the richest grace, and make it effectual in the hearts of God's people, that the elect may be gathered into one family."_ 21MR 55.
It would be incorrect to say that the Spirit took Christ's place if in fact it was just Himself in another form. Nor would there be any sense in describing the Spirit as a _"representation"_ of Christ. Yet this is what the prophet stated.
The statement you have shared above needs to be qualified by what EGW says elsewhere. Evidently the reason she says the Holy Spirit _"is"_ Jesus Christ (in this one, singular instance) is because the Holy Spirit, as mentioned above, is a _"perfect representation"_ of Christ. Thus in essence, to receive the Spirit is to receive Christ, just as to see and know Christ is to see and know the Father (John 14:7-9), not because the two are the same person, but because Christ is a perfect representation of the Father's character. Ellen White understood that the Spirit, while perfectly _representing_ Christ, is nonetheless a distinct person and entity _from_ Christ:
_"The Holy Spirit is the Comforter, in Christ's name. He _*_PERSONIFIES_*_ Christ, yet is a _*_DISTINCT PERSONALITY."_* 12MR 324.

Why does the Holy Spirit need to personate, or play the part of Christ, if He is Christ? Why does He need to be _"as"_ (or "like") the presence of Christ, if He is Christ? Why is He referred to as a distinct personality from Christ if He is Christ? The answers to these questions are obvious - the Holy Spirit and Christ are not the same person, being, or entity.

The apostles had no doubt about it, when Christ speaks of sending "another comforter" as in John 14:16-23. The disciples understood clearly, that it would be Christ himself, that comes. And Christ makes it even clearer, saying it would be himself and the Father, making their abode with the disciples. Thus the Holy Spirit is the personal presence of Christ and his Father. Peter understood this clearly, when he wrote in 2. Peter 1:21; "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." He writes the exact same thing earlier, only in other words, in 1. Peter 1:11; "Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow."
As you can see, "The Holy Ghost" and "Spirit of Christ" are interchangeably. Because they are the same. Christ's Spirit is not somebody else apart from him. I could tell of a childhood experience I had with Christ, to proof this point. But I'd rather discuss from Scripture and SOP and pioneers. Anyway brother Mike, we may not come to a common conclusion on this matter through youtube comment exchange. My comment was also directed at brother Doug. So much confusion with this topic, trinity, etc...I follow a pastor who is holy and does not follow any denominational teachings: sda, Baptist, etc. You see, alot of pastors can't solve this mystery and more because they are faulted by their beliefs and teachings. Did christ, or any apostles proclaim to be sda, apostolic, Baptist? No! There is only one God!

The reason why the churches are weak and sickly and ready to die, is that the enemy has brought influences of a discouraging nature to bear upon trembling souls.
