    Great video! It might just be me, but is there a way to screw in the filter so the ND strength markings are at the top instead of the bottom or side?

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy  Месяц назад

      Thanks. Where the markings are seems to be determined by the thread on the lens (or step up ring), on my 24-70mm it goes pretty much where it's supposed to with the markings on top, but on my 20mm with a step up ring, it's a bit off to the side

    I really need a proper off the fence opinion. I've just brought a Sony fx30 to start my RUclips channel. It's my first proper camera, I've been trying to research Nd filters but it's confusing and an absolute mind field.
    Would you recommend I buy the nisi Nd filters kit or it there a better variable Nd? Thanks

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy  2 месяца назад

      It's the best one I've used but I haven't really used that many so it's hard to tell. I really don't think it'd be that big of a deal which one you go with. It's not going to be noticeable in the shot, you'll probably notice the difference when using it more than anything. But even then, if you haven't used a VND before you won't know any different. I've had this NiSi one for several months now and have had no issues.
      I'm sorry I can't give you a more direct answer but I honestly don't think it matters that much, as long as you get a good quality one, you'll be fine.

    Should I buy an 82mm for all my lenses? My smallest lens is 55 mm

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy  2 месяца назад +1

      I think it more depends on what your biggest lens is. I think it's a good idea to get filters in the size of your biggest lens (or biggest lens you're likely to get in the future) because bigger filters work fine on smaller lenses, but not the other way around. If you do get 82mm, just get a step up ring to 82mm from the sizes of each of your other lenses. I wouldn't recommend stacking step up rings

    Does the plastic protector front cap always fall off? I have a hard time leaving the filter on because the black cap can’t stay on 😢

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy  4 месяца назад +1

      I've had no issues with the front cap falling off. It seems like it's a slightly looser fit than the filters themselves, but not enough to be an issue for me

    • @axidrain

    Hi ! Nice. It’s possible to put the VND after the Mist filter ?

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy  2 месяца назад

      Not with this system, no. The VND is threaded like any other filter, the additional filters (mist, ND16) have the press on function and no threads at all

    • @vladkafilms
      @vladkafilms 2 месяца назад

      @@itmeremy so now I don't understand, I put a normal black mist 1.8 on the lens and screwed a nisi nd filter on it, and it holds :-)

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy  2 месяца назад +1

      @vladkafilms yeah that makes sense. Most regular filters will have a thread on both sides so another mist filter would technically work, underneath the Swift VND. But you wouldn't be able to put a Swift system filter behind the VND

    i bought nisi 82mm mist kit for 24-70 sigma lens but i can see a lot vignette in photo mode and little in the video mode on the widest mm of 24, does anyone faced this situation and please suggest some solution, Thank you

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy  19 дней назад +1

      @ByHiranya I do also notice a bit of vignetting at 24mm. I don't think there's much you can do about it besides zooming or cropping in in some way. That's one of the issues with wide lenses, so many filters cause vignetting

    I really don't understand why the ND 4 stops filter doesn't have a front thread that would allow you to attach any softening filter

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy  2 месяца назад

      It's because it's a Swift system specific filter. So you can add any swift filter on the front like the 1/4 mist one in this kit. I get what you mean though, it'd be nice if you could screw on more filters but then I don't think the press on system would be able to work

    • @mariohazard821
      @mariohazard821 2 месяца назад

      @@itmeremy I must admit that I prefer the Tiffen mist to the Nisi, so the fact that I can't use the selected filter is frustrating. It is also strange because 1-5 stops have a normal thread

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy  2 месяца назад

      @mariohazard821 that's fair. You could always put your non swift filter behind the VND because you screw that one on. The non Swift VND will have a thread because it's just a normal screw on filter. The point of this system is to not have to screw filters on as much. The Swift VND has a thread on the back because it's the base of the system and something has to screw directly into the lens
