TIP: I have this variable ND and cut a notch in the cap so the it can be capped without the adjustment nob having to be removed (and then easily lost). Minor color shift is real, but much less than other VND filters and easily correctable 👍
I have the full set of Nisi Swift filters (NDs, black mists, CPL) and they're excellent. My only frustration is the mounting system. If they could implement something like PolarPro's MagLock system they'd be the perfect filters.
Thanks for mentioning this. I am in the process of looking to buy filters and I was just wondering about this. Have you used both of them? How do they compare?
@@nicholas-s-timelines I haven't used the Helix filters but have used earlier PolarPro products (the first PMVND that was released). The Helix filters were the other option I was considering before going ahead with the Nisi's but it seems they still have that nasty green color cast (which can be compensated for in-camera or in post but it adds a step to your workflow and in certain situations can be hard to get rid of). The Nisi's are definitely optically superior and while not difficult to get on and off (you just need to screw on the 1-5 VND or adapter ring then everything else stacks on top via suction and it's very secure) the new PolarPro's improve on that by having a magnetic ring that the VND and all the subsequent filters you want to stack stick to, i.e. you don't have to screw/unscrew anything when you take them off. I often quickly alternate between photo and video so that functionality would be amazing.
This is how it's done. Really well made review of this system. Thank you 👏🏻 I ended up buying one. Sick and tired of the greenish tint from the PolarPro glass
Oh, you too here! Looking for some replacement for my Syrp ND. These seem nice. The question is just wether the magnetic system will hold up to some vigorous adventure riding :)
Yeah sorry I misspoke about the magnetic, they just hold on very tight. Great filters, I just got the IRUV filter for the set to block IR pollution when using with the Blackmagic
These aren't magnetic they are press on. I like the system a lot but I'm not sure why they wouldn't allow you to use a Polarizer with it. Also they don't sell the lens caps so even if you run the system on two different lenses you will have to remove after each use since there is no way to get another cap.
Swift system has a dedicated CPL for it, we can stack that on Nd filter or mist filters, i would recommend not going wider than 20mm, observed some vignetting under 20mm when stacked with more than two swift filters. I saw they started selling filter lens caps on their website. Hope this helps..

Over the years I've moved over to Nisi. Can't fault Haida other than the price tag!

@@ArvidsBaranovs i absolutely love the nisi filters! They are not magnetic, and they don’t have any colour shift

Is the NISI black mist filter threaded in the front side? So I can attach other filters to it with standard thread?

Which adapter ring should I buy from my 77mm lens? Should I get the 82mm kit?
77 is fine for most focal lengths, I'd just be cautious on anything too wide, e.g 20mm or wider.
