    Took my first trip to Cedar Point last year.The slow chain lift on Magnum is really unnerving. I rode with a friend and the whole time was just long enough to doubt why I got on. The ride still remains my favorite.

    LOVE THIS RIDE, IT IS AWESOME! yes, it is a little rough, but that's what handmade coasters that are 25 years old do. At the end where you do all those little hills is my favorite part. At the end I was laughing a lot once we stopped on how fun it was.

    I love the slow chain lift. The climb is the scariest part of the ride.

    Over a minute to get to the top? No wonder they operate three trains on that bad boy.

    @Jacomelo117 Yes, you're right: Historically, Lake Erie is infamous for being the most polluted of the five Great Lakes. However, much has been done to clean it up in the past thirty years or so, I'd say.
    And, one of my best memories of the Magnum is the moment is when you when seemingly fly out into space at high speed, with nothing but the beautiful blue expanse of Lake Erie before you.
    It looked pretty damned good to me! ;)

    I'm 6'3 and this was the worst roller coaster I been on. Not because it sucked, but because my legs were too long and the lap bar pushed down on my legs. Anytime the coaster turned and went over hills , it hurt like HELL.

    I loved Magnum XL 200, but, good lord, what a beating it gave me. Gemini took me by surprise. I was amazed at how good of a wooden coaster it was. I will probably never ride Blue Streak again. It was way to painful to ride. I rode all of the coasters except TTD, MF, and Maverick.

  • @jjjjentges
    @jjjjentges 12 лет назад

    Cedar Fair Didn't make the coasters, Magnum was designed by Arrow Dynamics. Millennium Force was designed by Intamin World Wide. Independent companys that design coaster for other park operators like Six Flags.

    Moonsault Scramble was actually the first roller coaster to exceed 200 feet in height. It was located at Fuji-Q Highland in Japan.

    Despite what was said here Magnum was designed using computers and the track consists of a mix of custom and standard prefabricated parts by Arrow Dynamics. A lot of the roughness is due to imperfect design, a dedication to said prefab parts to keep cost in check and some conscience efforts by Arrow to make their rides more durable. The banking entering and exiting turns on Arrows are heartlined around the train's center of mass (rather than the rider) to prevent laterally stressing the track.

  • @RadioMuse1
    @RadioMuse1 13 лет назад

    @RadioMuse1
    The result of that sort of heartlining is that it is much rougher for passengers and the prefab parts are what result in the violent bunnyhills on the return trip. The ride was NOT entirely designed in a cad systems and checked out before hand, however certain important curves/transitions/elements were certainly "mathed" quite thoroughly to ensure safe and decently comfortable forces. In the era before B&M and Intamin people accepted that steel coasters were a bit rough...

    @BobBarkerYeahThatOne Not always true, but most of the time it is. Viper at Six Flags Great America was the only coaster designed and manufactured by Six Flags Theme Parks Inc.

    @mrspeel7 ha! I love living so close to the lake you can hear the waves, it makes my summer, MINUS THE FREAKING MAY FLYS!!!!
    only living 10 minutes away from the "best park on the planet" makes everything worth it.

  • @BobBarkerYeahThatOne
    @BobBarkerYeahThatOne 12 лет назад

    @MontagnaMagica MS was not considered a "true coaster" because it did not actually take all of its riders to 200+ feet. I have to say- that's not exactly fair, but MS was not official.

  • @BobBarkerYeahThatOne
    @BobBarkerYeahThatOne 12 лет назад

    @jjjjentges The companies do manufacture the ride, but the design of the coasters are a two-way deal. It was Cedar Point's idea to build a 200 foot coaster. And track was made being bent and assembled in the park like it says in 0:27 . The park executives are the ones who pitch the ideas and give space estimates and land size requirements, with a lot of design contributions. Parks ("clients") work with the companies, and no single park (or chain) designs a coaster alone- including Six Flags.

    I didn't ride TTD because I was way too chicken. I wanted to save MF for the end of the day because I knew it would be the best. Unfortunately, my friends stomach was turning really, really bad. I didn't want him to puke on me and I was not brave enough to ride it by myself. I skipped over maverick because the wait was never under 45 minutes. I will be going back to CP next year. It will be my second trip to the park. I will be sure to ride MF and Maverick next time around.

      Grow some balls. Smh this is the saddest Cedar Point experience I have ever heard. You didn’t ride MF because you were afraid of riding it by yourself? LoL there would have been a train full of people with you and someone sitting next to you.
