- Whether low VOC, non-toxic, food safe, or another label 3D printing resin and two part epoxy resins are not suitable for use in the body unless they have been tested for it. Those resins that have been tested are listed as Biocompatible.

Definitely excited to see these come to the major market , I don't have a use in mind , but the possibilities would be fantastic . I do wonder about the adult industry and whether we will be able to make body safe toys some day from home
No one thought of combining two jewelry making techniques into a new method of manipulation of metal. I explained to your colleague i am not able to use expensive torches & very heat intensive machines where i live. My answer for making 3D jewelry is to e.g. make a ring with see through components...i.e., ring prongs, stone basket etc. Make an original print do ergonomic fitting, then create a one of a kind mold: deconstructed so to speak laying the band flat and the stone setting all the prong basket printed with pegs so about 1.5mm to 2mm are left printed. Next take an easy "food grade" pour and stick the 3D print down with tape in acrylic pour so now my design is literally in a shallow sunken place mold....OBJECTIVE USING PRECIOUS METAL CLAY. It dries flexible. Pull the clay from sunken mold wrap around a mandrel specific to PMC close & do joins with clay a-la paint brush. Place in a klin vermiculite or substrate no TORCHES NO CRUCIBLE.
ive been struggling so hard to find flexible/rubbery food-safe or biocompatible resin, i need to make o-rings that are used on food industry any recommendations?

Biocompatible resin for casting? If you are only going to burn away the resin the resin doesn't need to be biocompatible. Do you mean "low VOC"? or something eco-conscious for the burnout process?

Biocompatible and Biodegradable resins have two diffrent purposes. Biocompatible resin is meant to stay in or on the body for a long period of time.

I imagine that many people are already printing things they should not. A safer option not being available isn't going to stop the careless. As such, the quicker it can get to market, the safer people will be.
I'd love to be able to print the my own plugs. I have gauged holes in a number of places and to be able to create my own that me and my wife know are totally aok would be awesome plus my 2 inch plugs cost 200$ a pair and are made of onyx wood.
This is one of our primary reasons for looking into this material. It's much less expensive than glass, for example, and you can get results much easier and faster.
But you do have to be careful that your post processing is up to spec or you could end up causing issues (surface texture, post curing, etc).
@@ClearMindJewellery I've been fdm printing for some time and resin printing for about 6 months and have branched out with differing resins and such. And I was a body mod artist for about 17 years. Doing dermals, tattoos, piercings, implants, scarification, suspensions and pretty much anything else lol. So I'm very aware of the need for bio compatible resins. Having carve or order specific relief images for subdermal implanting is a pain. So this would open up alot of avenues.
Hi I’m a pictureframer and sculptor. I’m researching how to make molds and casts from eco friendly materials, bio resin sounds great, maybe a bit light weight? If you have thoughts on this wd love to hear them! Also trying to find a substitute for silicon mold even if first layer is in silicon. Thought rubber tyres wd be ideal but turns out like that’s a nightmare!! What are our governments doing??? Is NOT doing? ?? Wd love to hear your thoughts, thank you 🙏 Suzy
Ok - here's a thought. Just curious...why are you shortening the one word "we'd" in this whole paragraph to wd?
Would your team be willing to do a video of a simple 4 prong ring with a see through band element. 3D Printed as a " negative mold" i mean the band laid flat the design sunken; the prongs & stone setting flat and sunken and printed so i the user can press materials into the mold so when precious metal clay releases i can manipulate the pressed into deisgn around a mandrel and kiln fire????
should I use biocompatible resin or my current elegoo water washable resin for making and selling whistles??
If its something meant for use in the mouth I would recommend biocompatible, or at least food safe at the very minimum.

B9 Creations is working on Felxible Biocompatible Resin, however we have not tried it yet.
Is there a "bio" resin soft enough to mimic a rubber silicone mold to press in Precious metal clay?????

Yes there is. Its Ultracur3D FL 60. You have to autoclave it though to be fully BioComp. Or if you can afford it: LOCTITE 3D MED414
