So I made a mistake in Edelgard's part, the Agarthans never passed down misinformation about Nemesis. I either remembered it wrong or misinterpreted it when I wrote that down in my script. I made sure to double-check nearly everything in this video, but that one line was something I glanced over, my bad. Now please stop harassing me for getting something wrong in a 30-minute long video I spent weeks working on thank you
Just finished your video! Nice job! I enjoyed it! The Black Eagles and Crimson Flower were my first path as well! I would like to include my ranking of my favorites plus some comments if you don't mind! 8. Linhardt - While my least favorite, I still like him overall, and I was shocked to see me change my mind that Linhardt is a legit great character. I had first impressions of him from watching gameplay videos, and he didn't leave a top impression on me. But seeing him in-game and watching his supports, particularly the B-support with Byleth, changed my mind! 7-5. Caspar, Hubert, Ferdinand - To be frank, I have a hard time figuring out which of these three boys I like more. All of them are great and complex. And I honestly consider Caspar underrated due to his complexity. 4. Bernadetta - While admittedly her C-supports and humor used for her anxiety does downgrade her character for me, she has a tragic backstory and undergoes great character growth! Also, as you said, her growth is fantastic, and I think it is one of the best in the game! 3. Petra - Just like Linhardt, I first saw gameplay videos of her, and my impression of her was just fine, but when I saw her in-game plus her supports, she became one of my top Black Eagles! As per some of her supports, I realized that she is far more nuanced than it appears, and I noticed that she tends to hide negative opinions/events/aspects of her from others at times, which is brilliant considering that she does need to appear as strong as possible to represent Brigid well, and this tendency makes her complex. 2. Edelgard - I have just two things to point out regarding your Edelgard analysis. One is the info on Nemesis which another person in the comments already pointed out. The other being that I argue that in her route, she undergoes character growth of being more willing to open up to others, consider other perspectives, accept help, and realize that it is better to accomplish things together than alone. But now that's out of the way, yeah, Edelgard is easily one of the most complex characters Nintendo ever produced. And she may hold a special place in my heart for being my very first Fire Emblem lord. 1. Dorothea - yeah, my reasons for liking her are basically the same as everyone else does. She's a fantastic character with many fascinating aspects about her. And that's my list! And once again, nice job with the video! I look forward to the videos for the other houses!
And on another note, it's great to see another Top 8 Black Eagles video! There don't seem to be that many character ranking videos for Three Houses. If you're interested in checking out other ones, there's a Top 8 Black Eagles video by BlazingKnight (he did Blue Lions and Church of Seiros also), a Three Houses tier list by ProZD, and a Top 10 Three Houses students by OmniBlade. Of course, be prepared for different character opinions in those videos.
Thank you very much! Appreciate your insight on Edelgard too, I do wish I talked about her supports with characters like Manuela and Ferdinand, since you can see some of the development you mentioned in them. Anyways great ranking from yourself, I've seen some of the videos you recommended before and I'm sure Blazingknight would approve of you putting Dorothea at number 1!
So for my first playthrough I stupidly thought Classic mode wouldn't be too bad. I was battling in the early game, not long after the mock battle, and didn't realise permadeath would now be activated. During the battle, every unit (including Sylvain because female Byleth) died apart from Linhardt and Edelgard. Since I did Silver Snow, Linhardt became the only survivor in Black Eagles and became my favourite character because of how much he carried the early and mid game. For a good chunk of the game, Byleth, Shamir, Felix, and of course Linhardt were my only characters, and so I love all of them because of it
@@MaxMonado one when you di the cruch of serios are you going to include byleth? two what do you think of the nohrians in fire emblem fates and what do you think of fates story? 3 do you think the lords more pecifically edelgard are one of the more likely canon cupolas of three houses because cf if you want to s rank edelgard feels like a romantic story.

Another excellent video. My personal Black Eagle ranking looks like this: 1) Bernadetta 2) Hubert 3) Edelgard 4) Ferdinand 5) Petra 6) Dorothea 7) Linhardt 8) Caspar It's kinda interesting how Bernie is probably the most divisive character in this game after Edelgard, she REALLY seems to be a Love her or Hate her type of character. Me, I loved her for both how sympathetic and amusing she was, her stellar voice acting and all her subtle growth and development. I also really liked the contrast between her and Marianne, where Marianne generally seems miserable, lacking in initiative and self-loathing (except when tending to the horses), Bernadetta often seems quite content in her own little bubble, and has a lot of different interests, talents and hobbies that excite her and give her joy. It's an interesting, if imperfect look at the contrast between anxiety and depression. It's just a shame that the two of them didn't get a Support.
Great to see Hubert that high, definitely came to like him more over time Also that's a very interesting comparison you bought up with Marianne and Bernie, let's hope they'll interact in Three Hopes
@@MaxMonado Yeah, I *really* like Hubert, and think he might be the most misunderstood character in Three Houses. Far from being this gamer girl bathwater-buying beta, I think his devotion to Edelgard is very much tied to him viewing it as a higher calling, the closest thing in his life to religion, only strengthened by his desire to make up for his own father's betrayal of Edelgard's family, which Hubert considers an unforgivable stain on House Vestra's honor. At the same time, as you mention, he's no lackey, but fiercely intelligent and ready to make decisions behind Edelgard's back that he thinks will help her, as well as do the kind of dirty work that would otherwise heavily burden Edelgard. Also, I find his Supports absolutely hilarious, the way he constantly antagonizes people (including a dangerous killer like Shamir) and gleefully plays the villain always amuses me. Yet like Edelgard, he's definitely not a bad guy, as proven in the other Routes, where he in the event of Edelgard's defeat makes sure to help the victors take down the evil Agarthans from beyond the grave.
I swear I am not trolling but your top 2 are my bottom 2 Your 6-3 are my top 4 but the order is not quite the same I won't elaborate too much on Berndadetta, the support system does her dirty because of supports are independent between characters. She doesn't have much chemistry with anyone, hence her lack of popular ships in the fandom but that's another story. The conflicts with Caspar and Hubert are why those are her standout supports, she desperately needs more of that. Even a not so lighthearted support such as Byleth catching her training super hard isn't particularly interesting because half the students are known for doing the same thing. She's also the most static character in the Black Eagle house, the only other student who rivals her in the whole game is probably Raphael. My top 8 (unlike the Blue Lions, the top 2 are actually difficult, whereas the bottom 6 are easy to fit). 8. Lindhardt - Easily the worst male student. Hate all 3 of his designs and his supports are bleh. The thing that I hate the most is his personality. He reminds me of the worst qualities of myself I had when I was in high school. The lack of self-motivation just infuriates me, and his overall constant "why can't we just end the war?" just turns me off. Easily one of the most ignorant nobles period. If this guy was the leader of the noble house I was serving, I'd be putting in a 2-day notice. 7. Petra - Didn't care for her supports, design, or character. It's especially annoying because for a va who knows English, having them speak in incorrect grammar is not only jarring, but it makes Petra sound like a robot with a few screws loose. 6. Dorothea - Overrated and still is. Her character is alright but despite her past, still seems kinda stuffy in her supports, ESPECIALLY with Ferdinand and Hubert. 5. Bernadetta - Her dialogue is funny but I feel like that's the only reason her character exists. Also her va can get really irritating (I didn't like Hortensia's VA in Engage, so you know I'm not gonna let Bernadetta slide on this either). The top half of this list actually consists of the characters I'd want on my team. 4. Hubert - I have a love/hate relationship with Hubert. One the one hand, his personality when talking with other characters can be anywhere from menacing to hilarious to sarcastic. On the other hand, he berates the Kingdom for their knighthood culture, and that doesn't fly with me. 3. Edelgard - One of the most complex villains in Fire Emblem we've ever gotten. Edelgard's only problem for me is that her pre-timeskip Houses version is very acerbic at times. I prefer her in Hopes much more. The last two are dang near tied for me. 2. Caspar - Love this little punk. Caspar's dialogue makes him out to be a surface-level justice seeker. He doesn't always get the nitty gritty details of what war is all about. He enjoys fighting for justice, even when some of it is straight up misguided. His supports with Ashe and Hilda are so wholesome (Hilda also likely made out with him in their A support, cutest couple in 3H by far). 1. FERDINAND VON AEGIR - First, RIP to the legend Billy Kametz, would've loved to have seen you at a GameCon event. Second, Ferdinand combines pretty much everything I like about the last 3 units. Variety in supports, dynamic character throughout the stories of 3H and Hopes, especially in Hopes. And he has distinct views of justice. And again, he has some of the best romances in the game, with Flayn and FemByleth being the most obvious (figures that Ferdinand and Flayn would have a nice support when you consider Ferdinand has the minor Crest of Cichol).

And again, he has some of the best romances in the game, with Flayn and FemByleth being the most obvious (figures that Ferdinand and Flayn would have a nice support when you consider Ferdinand has the minor Crest of Cichol).
