Very true... was going to say so myself! I saw this video a year ago and now, thinking of adding Jam after all, saw it again. Felt like coming home seeing the studio... all these fancy rooms with pizzazz aren’t so memorable, to be honest. Love the efficiency and density of gear going on in here.
"It's got a nasty buzz cause my turntable sucks, so just pretend that's not there." Fantastic demo video, but that line was my favorite part. Instead of some overly edited commercialized video, he went for the whole 'stop by my crib and check out the Machine Jam' kind of vibe.
This video is so great Native Instruments should show this to everyone so that people really understand the power of this combination and make decisions !!!!
I love my MK2 but as we all know it hasn't have it's own internal sounds. I think hooking up 3 or 4 midi-hardware gears to a computer is a lot more complicated than just 1 good synthesizer with its own internal sounds and sequencer and where you can easily shift between scenes... thanks for the performance, great video!
Great video Zach! Please send this video to Native Instruments I'm sure they'll be working on some upgrades in the future and they might incorporate this set up to make it a lot more accessible on the next upgrades!
I have a question regarding the pitch down you applied to your "snecond" snap shot: Were you able to pitch those samples down without affecting the tempo of the sample? It sounds like it affects the tempo. Do you have a workaround for this?
Is that a Roland TR 909 in the back? :O Edit: o hell yeah. Badass drummachine from the eightees. Put some distortion on the kick and BOOM! Back to the '90 and Hardcore will never die.
Can i simultaneously run maschine jam and maschine mk3 together but have the jam controlling ableton live (main daw) and use the mk3 to control maschine 2 vst in live? Or are they intertwined together? Like, if jam goes to midi mode, will mk3 switch as to midi mode as well?
Awesome, I assume that the turntable, phatty etc is plugged into a soundcard? What sound card are u using? Is it easy to assign an input to a pad? Seems quite easy, but what about Ableton's slice feature? can u record and then map that to the 4X4 grid easily?
Cool video. At last it looks like that you're not using Jam as extensively as your Maschine MK2. Snapshots are nice feature and Maschine 2.6 should add them to MKI/2/Studio. Not sure Jam will ever replace these units.
mindalteringfx I'm asking the same question. As a push one owner I'm either looking at Push 2 or this.... NI have some great products and sounds but Ableton is made for Ableton Push ... hmmm
just a normal guy just me I use my jam way more than I used my push. Although I miss the ease of sampling in the push. I need the portability the jam offers and the maschine integration. I can easily switch between ableton and maschine in one box as opposed to two boxes with maschine n the push.
Top Notch Both. I'm hoping DJTechTools comes out with Midi Fighter Twister 64 to go along with the Midi Fighter 64. That would be cool. Right now I have Livid Instruments ds1, Push 1, Push 2, Maschine Studio, NI Komplete Kontrol S49. I just need to get the Maschine Jam maybe, some Adam or KRK Monitors, a Desk better suited to an audio environment, and UAD Apollo Twin MKII Quad (replace my mac/iOS duet).
DJ TechTools what do you have to use to record a sample from a tr 09 or turntable into the maschine software? Can an S4 be used to record a sample into Traktor and then use it in the Maschine software library?
Step 1 sync both Maschine Controllers to Traktor and use Propellerhead Reason Rack Plugin as Groove Generator. Final Step route all Engines into Ableton Live for Recording. Now you have the ultimative Setup for creating unique Sounds. If I had the opportunity then I would use this exact setup again and again. After 25 years of experience in electronic music, I have to say there is no more creative combination than Ableton Traktor Machine and Reason. Unfortunately, I currently have no more hardware to show you what is possible with this setup. Cheers stay save
one question please, for DJ producer what is better, maschine, ableton , fl studio? and what equipament? this combination of maschine is perfect for dj producer?
here in 2022... You sold me on a Jam 2nd hand. Thanks for the video!
Zach always coming with the quality content. 👌🏾✊🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾
Easily the best Jam video I've seen so far.
Cool that this isn't overly edited.
I like your home-made furniture, very warm and analogue 😃
haha

lol great comment
dope! and he was super lit at dirtybird campout last year! so fun!
Zach got real in this video, love it.lol
well ... when was he ever fake?
Naw im not saying he was ever fake. But he was gettin it in. I like his character.
ummm you should probably edit that lol
intelligentblue l like how he kept that touch strip oops see in.😏 I'll keep that in mind when I get mines
Wait a second, I think I saw you commenting on the Barry Beats video!
Great video, thanks for taking the time to delve into these topics and post.
god why cant i just listen this on any radio station? true music MadZach
I needed this, thanks man!

Awesome video. MZ is the jam lord.
*Ok, Ok, I COULD be in the market for a Maschine Jam after watching this 😃 Great demo 👍🏾*
Now, that' s a nice sound collage from different sound sources 👍🔥!!!
Mad Zach rules. What a dope beat and even cooler way to put it all together, between Maschine Jam and that FCB1010. Thumbs way up.
Nice nice just got a maschine jam didn't even know about snapshots yet can't wait to play with that.
I am glad to see you using the first generation of Maschine controller with it, that what I still have.
This is mk2
This video is so great Native Instruments should show this to everyone so that people really understand the power of this combination and make decisions !!!!
Love the tutorials with techno music, hope to see ya play live some time :)
Zachs got the dopest studio
Thanks MZ! Really good! Keep on working!
Thank you so much for this video, this is absolutely amazing! Greetings from Germany.
2:54 "OH Jesus!!!" definite sampling material :P
Really enjoyed this. Thank you for your awesomeness.
Mad Zach is abosolute top stuff
2:55 - "OH JESUS" hahaha that really caught me off guard
how did he configure that pedal board? That was awesome
I love my MK2 but as we all know it hasn't have it's own internal sounds. Great video by MZ!
This is the most interesting, funny review about studio equipments
Great video Zach! Please send this video to Native Instruments I'm sure they'll be working on some upgrades in the future and they might incorporate this set up to make it a lot more accessible on the next upgrades!
How did he control Maschine with an external midi controller?
6:51 best part of the whole video.
Sick! Mad Zach killin' it! Who needs a DAW anymore?
that was awesome!
I want this tune, can I download it somewhere?
I was undecided, until around 2:54. Mad Zach is mad funny.
That was great! Does the Jam only work with Maschine software? will it work side by side with a Launchpad?
Is this for performance only? Or can you plan it, then instantly turn it into a fully laid out track in a DAW?
this dude is really good at making electronic music, great work homie
SOLD!

Yep, one of Zach's prized possessions!
DJ TechTools somehow the emulated drums never sound quite as punchy as the TB/TR hardware drums
@2:52 We've all had that OH JEEEZUS moment! #djrtnyc
I love this! Technology has finally caught up to some of the things Ive been creating, but didnt have the right workflow to put down
duuuude that fingerdrumming sequence was so ill!
2 questions: 1. Can't you do that epic fingerdrumming if you only have the jam? 2. Can you use every feature of jam in fl studio or is it limited?
Can i simultaneously run maschine jam and maschine mk3 together but have the jam controlling ableton live (main daw) and use the mk3 to control maschine 2 vst in live? Or are they intertwined together? Like, if jam goes to midi mode, will mk3 switch as to midi mode as well?
Yeah, i'd like to know as well. I'm assuming each unit has its own script (as the hardware is different) so i guess you could use both independently.
Sits with back to the monitor... Like a BOSS ;)
good overview from the product and nice sounds btw
Nice video and really good features! Hey, Zach, what headphones do you use in this video?
Awesome, I assume that the turntable, phatty etc is plugged into a soundcard? What sound card are u using? Is it easy to assign an input to a pad? Seems quite easy, but what about Ableton's slice feature? can u record and then map that to the 4X4 grid easily?
can u literally select an input from ur soundcard right on the MK2 and then just record?
yes, in this case they are all routed through the mixer and coming in on the same input channel, but you can easily change input from the hardware
Mad 4 the win
beautiful
Great videos. What is the foot pedal you are using. Is it Bluetooth? Or USB. Do you need software to use it to trigger machine etc. thanks
Jack D. Elliot - it's just 5-pin din 'midi': behringer fcb1010. Also check out secondary resources like: www.fcb1010.uno
Hey so do you think you can show some technical moves on arrangement with the Jam?
Cool video. At last it looks like that you're not using Jam as extensively as your Maschine MK2. Snapshots are nice feature and Maschine 2.6 should add them to MKI/2/Studio. Not sure Jam will ever replace these units.
Push or Jam? I traded my Push 2 for the jam. I prefer the jam. Integrates nicely with Ableton as well.
mindalteringfx I'm asking the same question. As a push one owner I'm either looking at Push 2 or this.... NI have some great products and sounds but Ableton is made for Ableton Push ... hmmm
good question
just a normal guy just me I use my jam way more than I used my push. Although I miss the ease of sampling in the push. I need the portability the jam offers and the maschine integration. I can easily switch between ableton and maschine in one box as opposed to two boxes with maschine n the push.

If I have a maschine studio is there a true benefit to getting a maschine jam? Or can I already do everything a jam can do on a studio?
I don't know what it is.... but I really have this strong aversion to Tom's. I can't explain myself.
what pack did you use for this demonstration? i liked the first thing you played.
that one is called "keep the change" its on volume 2
Mad Zach thank you.
You've got some long ass fingers. Love it
Thats for fingering 😅🤣
Does the chopstick contraption come free with the midi fighter controller? Lol. Tks for the vid, gonna save up for the m jam
DJ TechTools what do you have to use to record a sample from a tr 09 or turntable into the maschine software? Can an S4 be used to record a sample into Traktor and then use it in the Maschine software library?
Apart from the sound sampling, can you do all that from the Jam directly on its touch pad?
The Jam pads or not velocity sensitive.
Looking at all your gear...you are such a closet nerd! Love it! lol
can you use the sliders on the Jam to fade in and out on the snapshots?
shrooms are one helluva drug
Hahaha unfitting drug joke

one question please, for DJ producer what is better, maschine, ableton , fl studio? and what equipament? this combination of maschine is perfect for dj producer?
the thing that throws me is what are you doing with the midi fighter and the fcb10?
Ok I see what youre using these for. so do I need jam to make these snapshots with the FCB10?
Still very useful in 2024, dusting of my Maschine Jam😊
Man what if you working with a push 2.. will the jam integrate just as well. Should catch samples equally as well as the MK2/MK3?
So after youve built a few song sets, do you just eat the dead air switching between them live?
Snapshot mode is fucking awesome.
hi i have a question. how would you connect analog synths to maschine and maschine jam via midi to cv ?
I don't think you would actually. Wouldn't it make more sense to connect your synths through an audio interface into your main daw.
The chopstick contraption needs its own video.
thanks for the video info
Que me aconsejan para acompañar la "Maschine Jam" ?
La studio o la plus
damn you cold wit it love the trac
So Mr Zach.. Push 2 or the new Machine for sampling from external sources ? what's your preference
Can i connect and use a Maschine Jam with with a Maschine+ without a computer?
That’s maaaaad Zach! Sheesh talk about multi tasking! Lol. Dope video!
what is that stand for the Maschine jam ?
a saw a quick shot of a FCB1010 can you explain how you use the FCB1010 with maschine?
saw later in the video that you used the FCB1010 to change the channels on the Jam. How do you set this up?
Awesome thanks for the tutorial peace ☮️
DUDE YOU a mASTer...Love it...what city are you in
Love your Pullover. whats that Brand
Your a gangster Zachariahs!! 😂 wish I'd practice finger drumming so I have the skills you have!!!
Using a midi fighter on top of a maschine for finger drumming?
Zach is a mad lad indeed😂
Shit, fucking roller chair!
Jack Denning right when he said this I saw this
What in ear monitors are those?
nice!
...and what about a camera behind instead of two in front ?
thinkin bout getting the maschine jam; it seems to be great for live jamming/sequencing isnt it?
thanks for the great video btw !
yes, man, morphing is da true thing!
why does your hand fly off the buttons after you press them?
Can I also use strawberry jam?
can you change how long the morph takes?
Yes you can: ruclips.net/video/hBQvq1Y9d9E/видео.html
hello, how you connect all the stuff s to be able to record thru computer? you connect all thru a digital mixer?
the snapshot FX, is it possible with push 2 and ableton Live ?
