The search for new compositions using the Sony A7RIV

- In this landscape photography vlog, I head to Gwandalan NSW to capture a jetty sunrise. This area was new to me and part of my quest in 2023 to find new and unique compositions in my local area. Some beautiful soft light before sunrise and some interesting compositions after sunrise was enough to put a smile on my face.
I will need to return to this wonderful location.

Great to see that it turned out to be a lovely morning with some brilliant light, despite your fears about the low clouds! Really gorgeous images as always Colin, and good thing you decided to switch it up and explore the second jetty with the upturned boats. Sometimes we get stuck trying to work one scene to death and miss a great composition elsewhere. Hope you're having a good week 🙂👍

Yes, it can be a challenge to find new compositions in your local areas that you visit frequently and feel you have exhausted the light and seasonal changes etc. You got some great ones by finding a new area and it will be fun to see how it changes for you next time you visit there. I had just been thinking that I need to explore more too, so this was good timing to get me going! Love the boat image, and while I normally have a definite preference of one or the other, in this case I like both color and mono.

Love this video Colin, the light was just perfect I think and those clouds in the first image looked light wonderfully enormous trees on the far bank. As for the old jetty you know that would be right up my street. Have a great week🙏🙏🙏

Revisiting the same locations is one of the best ways to see a different perspective.
