Oh wow...what a flood of memories and feelings. Back when BGW was a truly unique park focused on the experience and not on making as much money as possible by cutting quality and service. There was nothing like it.
This is actually some pretty amazing footage. this would also be the very final time we would see Drachen Fire in operation one month before it would officially close.
Thanks for sharing this! I was there on this date, working as the director of all of the instrumental musicians in the park (I think about 110-120 of them at this time). I really enjoyed my time there, and appreciate the trip back down memory lane!
I appreciate the footage! The LeMans Raceway was one of my favorite rides as a kid before I could ride any of the bigger attractions. I also miss Big Bad Wolf. Verbolten is great, but Big Bad Wolf was really special.
This was really cool to watch, I am from the Hampton Roads area, and I've been going to Busch Gardens every year for my entire life. I was born in 1994 and some of my earliest childhood memories are from Busch. Seeing the style of clothes people wore back then and seeing the park the way it was just really brought back a lot of fun memories. My first ride ever was the lockness monster, then the big bad wolf (which they got rid of). Good times.
Oh I miss this Bush Gardens went there May 2024 and for me the park itself is beautiful..but something is definitely off....watching this video from back in the 90's is why I fell in love with this park...but I think they're losing some of there charm...so fingers cross 🤞 that they will do a little better to persevere that wonderful park
I remember being a little kid seeing Drachen Fire when it was already closed but hadn't been torn down yet. I'd ask my mom why it was closed, and she told me it made peoples ears bleed lol.

Wow this is crazy! It’s like proto-theme park vlogging. This guy was really ahead of his time.
I love the video! Thanks for helping me go down memory lane!

It would be demolished in 2002!

Loved watching this. So unbelievably well kept then.
I hope BG gets back to heavily theming their rides like they used to while preserving the trees. It’s amazing what they did back then!
Superb footage 😊😊😊😊😊🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
Awesome footage!

I remember the lemans raceway; I forgot all about that one. I remember riding that with my mom as a child thinking it was so cool to drive the car.
I wish I could go back and visit this Busch Gardens again

This must've been right before Drachen Fire was shut down!
Great video! ❤️
love the narration of this video!
Very nice.
Aplengeist killed off any remaining popularity of Drachen Fire
You're right.
The song do you hear in the background when he is in the escape from Pompeii section is dance of the Knights from Romeo and Juliet
8:22 this is where Griffon is now. I still remember these car rides.
this is so cool
